This is the first time I’ve ever made shorts/pants and this tutorial was so easy to follow. I really enjoyed this project and I’m so thankful that you’ve taken the time to share and explain this pattern!!
This tutorial is so easy to follow and the quality is fantastic! I was literally working on a pair of shorts which frankly were a total fail, frogged the whole thing just to follow your tutorial instead since it is so incredibly easy to follow
I've been crocheting for YEARS and have never been able to crochet shorts/pants and for my Halloween costume this year I desperately wanted to take the time to learn so I can go as the Cheshire Cat from Alice In Wonderland. I was able to figure out a mistake I've been making every time and was also finally able to understand how to work with my measurements!!! I will say, I'm using acrylic yarn and my hips are 20 inches bigger than my waist (I wanted it to rest at my belly button bc I love the feeling of high waisted pants) and I definitely recommend cotton because it would probably do better with stretching to your size, but it's easier to get over my hips now that there are more rows... Also I didn't follow the advice to make it a few inches smaller than the waist because I wasn't sure it would go up and I wish I'd listened lol but they fit great! Thank you so much for the help and for taking the time to make a tutorial!!! I'll tag you if I end up posting so you can see!!!
THANK YOU for making this tutorial! I have some yarn that I’ve been keeping around since I first started crocheting YEARS ago, and I wanted to make pants out of them, but I didn’t like the look of any of the other tutorials (T-T) this one is perfect! Update: I finished my pants a while ago! They’re shorts and they fit me so well ✨ I got to show them off at a summer camp event, I literally LOVE THEM 🗣️‼️
Beautiful 🤩. Thank you 🙏 😊😘 This is perfect tutorial because I’m a visual learner 😊 I’ll watch this few more times, then when I’m ready I’ll crochet alongside with you😊
I love your videos sm like GIRL. I just watched your how to make a sweater video and it was so good and beginner friendly please don't stop making videos seriously!!
Thank you🙏🌹 These days I'm making the moon maxi dress from your channel and it looks so cute❤❤❤Next project I wanted to be pants, so this video is exactly what I needed.😊 I love your projects!
Love the shorts, that colour combo was IT! I've been looking for something to make for a mom & daughters moment for later on this year and I think I have found ittt❤
I love every one of your videos i just started crocheting a few months ago and havee made several of these projects. im stashbusting some striped shorts today from this video so thank you! Also i love when you make mini versions for your daughter its so cute
I mistakenly put the two double crochet on the second stitch instead of the first, do I need to start over? I love the video, it’s very very easy to follow TYSM!!🫶🏻
i noticed my leg holes are too wide because of my hip measurement, also they kind of keep getting wider, as if i did an increase.. do you have any advice if i want them to go a little smaller on the thighs? should I decrease or it would look weird? also, same as another comment: how would you do the back longer than the front so it looks seamless? thank youuuuu
Hi! I love your tutorials ❤ I wanted to ask if I can skip turning the work when I'm starting the new row or does it changes the looks of the project? Thank you
So I know I’m very late to this video but what if I didn’t turn my work when working on the hips?? 😭 I thought I knew what I was doing and I worked two rows and didn’t turn, do I have to frog?
this is such a great tutorial! thank you sm! I am plus size, would i need to do the increasing for hips differently? Not sure how it works as I’ve never made something like this before! so excited to try!
I added 2 extra instead of 1 bc i was scared of the same thing. It made the stripe curve slightly where I added them. Doesn't look bad but did show. I think the way she did it would be fine these are so stretchy anyways! Just try them on a bunch as u work!
what do i do, the first row i did after the waistband with sc was too tight to fit,do i need to have looser stitches, more stitches, what do i need to do so it can fit??
this tutorial is really great! but how come i never see people talk about how hard it is to make the waistband big enough to do over your hips, but then have it bunch up loads when they use a drawstring at they’re waist 😭 the measurement for my waist is only reaching around the back and sides of my hips 💀
the smaller "type" of stitch you use for ribbing the stretchier it will be - slip stitch is the strechiest followed by sc, hdc, dc, etc. So try doing the waistband in a different stich and make sure your first row around making the body of the pants is nice and loose
hi!! it makes your seam nice and straight. otherwise your seam would just keep going in a line that would look like this - / but more drastic! turning your work makes sure that your seam is nice and straight like this - | :)
@HannahDrapinski I guess I should have waited to watch all of it. lol 😆 🤣. sorry about that. You wouldn't have a written pattern for this by chance, do you?
Hi im really stuck with the double crochet on each stitch after the initial waist band, what is the stitch we are poking into? Can it be just one string or does it have to be the v looking stitch. Im new and determined to figure this out 😅
@@deseraeteichroeb2398 did you do your row of single crochets in every available stitch? you will need put your double crochets in the top of the previous row, under BOTH loops of the v stitch, front and back!! 🫶🏼
Well, thanks for the tutorial, but you didn’t mention how to compensate for the lower back side ( in comparison with the front). Otherwise really very, very easy 😘
I started out with a different pattern for my shorts and ended up following yours for the crotch and leg part. But I accidentally made my back seam crooked and idk if it will be too obvious 😅
Hmmmm… Another crochet pattern to adapt to naalbinding, I see… *evil yarn-gremlin giggling* I recently learned how to do a ‘lazy-join’, so I could do this in cotton; I’d just have to weave in a butt-ton of ends. Or, I could make a pair of winter pants in wool, and only have to weave in a couple of ends… Choices, choices.
Hi, My name is Katia. I love your crochet tutorials ! I wanted to ask your permission to use your patterns to sell the finished item on my Etsy shop. I would credit you of course ☆⋆。𖦹°‧★
These are really the simplest pattern I have come across on blogs or YT. The count the stitches mark the sides done. Other want you to count and increase weird for my brain.

Side note for the plus sizes: chain 15 for the waist band and use more like 20 chains in between the legs. Hope this helps others ❤
Thank you!!! I’m about to start making this and I was a bit worried

What if you need the back longer than the front how would you make the back longer and keep it seamless looking around the whole pair of shorts ?

Can you explain the waist side, like do you measure your waist and chain it

it will make your seam crooked :( turning your work ensures that the seam will be straight!!! 🫂💕

Nice , it's so good, how many balls of yarn did you use?
i have a big problem because if i have do to a waistband smaller than my waist then definitely will not enter in my hips :(
Hi! Love this! Definitely want to try them! Do you think that i can do them with acrylic yarn?
definitely!!! it just won’t be as breathable as natural fibers ☺️☺️💕

hey dear!! i’ve grown kind of tired of lily sugar n cream cotton yarn and have been considering buying from hobbii. how soft is their cotton yarn?
SO SO SOFT!!!! you must try
@@HannahDrapinski hooray!! i was hoping it was :)
For the waist band do you have to chain 1? Also you are very pretty ❤
chain 9 to start, then plus one !! you’re so sweet 😭😭🥹
(so 10 technically. but the 10th chain you don’t go into so it’s only 9 stitches total throughout the whole length of the waistband)
Hi! I saw this video after starting on a pair of shorts but I’ve been doing hdc. Would the shorts turn out funny if I switched to dc?
just continue in hdc, it will be the same
I would really love to make this short. But I am beginner. Can I use 4mm hook
Since it’s made to measure, you could use any hook or yarn you want
Hi! What size yarn should i use or could i do this with any yarn?
Since it’s made to measure, you could definitely do it with any yarn!
Okay why am I only doing 9 in the beginning 😂 omg how to I make it longer
can you please tell me the size and weight of the yarn

The waistband should stretch enough to go around your butt, unless you’re super slim thick, then you might have to make it a tad bigger to get on lol
