It's amazing how Danny's predominantly a vert skater and he absolutely KILLED IT on the streets. Blunt slide variations, 360s down double sets, switch tres. One of the true pioneers of skating
Bro what the hell, Danny Way killed it in the streets, I love the line with the pressure hardflip, and the backside double flip, I have never seen anybody do this after that until Bastien
When this came out, so many people were focused on Rodney converting to street (which was amazing). Between that and how natural Danny Way skated street, his conversion got overlooked by most at the time. So much respect to all the non-street skaters on Plan B killing their street parts.
I grew up in VISTA,CA I watched DWay skate the streets as a local. a bunch of skaters came out of this socal city in the late 80s early 90s matt hensly another heavy hitter to emerge as an innovator. Also Steve Ortega who had the first 360 flip in a video...that video was shackle me not. skaters came from all over just to skate this ghetto little city..i feel lucky to have seen all this in person when others watched it in videos.
Bad religion, back 360s down big shit, huge double kink board slide, and some boss vert skating such a good part! True classic thanks thrasher for posting this! So gnarly I love all the old plan b videos.
I've always know D-Way was a legend, but now I truly know why. This part right here is a great part for a pro today so doing this back then should be putting a lot of today's pro's to shame. Wow. D-Way.
you can imagine, guys, the feeling that we the old skaters had first time we saw this 20 years ago in our TV´s. you must see the whole video. Mike carrol, Rodney mullen and Colin Mckay doing insane tricks. I quit skate a year after this video was made so i am pretty old now hahaha!!! brings me so many memories!!!
Elijah Weaver i quit in the 90's. Many things changed, i went to the army, once Back i had a girlfriend, etc... The i started surfing but quit aswell. In the place were i live now there is not many waves but Sometimes i want to come Back skating. However now i am 42 so would not be the same, it would be like starting By zero. The body is not the same when you are 18 than now with 42 yrsold but Who knows
Jugando con Elias I'm 42 and grew up with this vid as well, quit about 94, shit just happens...anyway I'm about to start again cuz it's mandatory that I exercise, doctor's orders, but nothing dangerous, no flip tricks, I'm scared to hurt myself as well, not interested in it, just wanna have fun doing ollies, shuvits and manuals:), ... I started for a brief time when I was 30, until my board got stolen...it takes about two weeks of just rolling around until ur brain adjusts and u get ur balance back
I also, quit not long after this video from a ankle injury. I picked the board back up in 97 and haven't stopped since (other than injuries). 45 now started in 86. I'm losing more tricks than I'll ever learn. But, I still ride once a week. Cheers.
Haven't seen this in like 27 years but I still remember every single part and sound, like the wheels on brick at the end of Heaven Is Falling. Must have watched this hundreds of times
revisit after nine club ... how much of modern style comes out of his skating ... i mostly looked at him when pressureflips went switch etc ... real pioneer
Danny Way = skateboarding god. I used to show up at Robbie Locks ramps to watch him skate. He was about 15, maybe 16. My very good friend designed his first graphics. The giants holding smaller giants in their hand. Matt Hensley, Steve Ortega, Brendan Shoefel, Jay Hit. Vista was the innovation back then, now Bob lives there. This was in the mid to late 80s.
i had a copy of a copy of a copy of a copy of a copy of this video from a friend and watched it every week for most of high school. definitely the most important video to come out after video days.
All the pre-internet skate stuff seems so much more interesting to me than the stuff of today. I guess that was when people went out to film for fun rather than to put it online to show off. Still love these times but damn do I miss those days.
Danny Way was my very 1st pro model. -i thought it was Powell, but I now know it was H-street. Like a giant holding a giant holding a giant... -If memory serves its the deck that I spired the 1st Gonz Blind deck, high was my 2nd pro board. --I remember my whole Florida town hatin on my deck cause it had a large kick nose...3 months later all us saw were Jeremy Kline gangsta vegetable decks. -you haters know who you are/where! :D ---wish I remembered why Danny Way was My Favorite. It musta been the video he caveman'd the handrail inside that Donger house.... Thanks Danny, you're the flips inspired me to clean mine up and Templeton taught me to not care. In the end I couldn't stop doing em super fast and clean.... -- man I regret missing all the sessions of Danny & Matt Hensley skating together that only God saw. Musta been epic!!!
Me and my friends had to pool our money and mail order this when it came out on VHS. We had a combo skate shop/BMX shop in podunk Arkansas and they would get all the videos and we could rent them, but they refused to stock this one because they heard that the skaters assaulted a security guard in it. This is by far my favorite video part ever, and my favorite skater (although he wasn't at the time). We were tripping hard on Pat Duffy's part at first actually. Mr. Way will always be the GOAT to me. Danny's part has aged like fine wine.
the older I get and go back to these parts I actually like the mess ups more like hand touches or random imperfections. it makes it so real and like not this perfectionist vibe where you gotta re film shit a million times. just have fun, get what you can get and post it. his vert tricks are perfection but just some of his street tricks.
"i'm supposed to be out here stoppin crime doin all this bitchin stuff, and they got me runnin around chasin skateboarders" is this why people become cops? also, danny way rips with epic 90s steez
Sorry I didn't realize that someone else thought that this was an interesting statement. I Posted a comment like yours, then realized that you had already addressed the issue. Cheers!
Wrong, this was before the market crash. Rocco, and Ternasky were loaded and handed wads of cash, and gave them corporate cards. I work in an office environment, and a lot of people around me don't make much.
Yeah, this was before the crash, I was 16 at the time, world was huge, plan b was humongous, selling tons of boards, Danny was loaded, not always a good thing when ur young
Being an old dinosaur, and skating right when this video came out. I can relate to the sheriff. Most of the trouble I got into was skating at courthouses, banks, grocery stores etc. Good to see skateparks on every corner in America now. Course these kids are missing out on those experiences! B of A had the best ledges, stairs, and hips to skate.
I remember the part from back in the day where the security dude or cop says "you've got exactly one minute to get completely out of my sight" Classic shit right there.
That was one of the most influential videos of my time. We used to tear around Boston rocking bad religion in baggy pants and wife beaters. We were 15 when this video dropped.
Wasn't there a hilarious Sean Sheffey quote about the cop at the end that got cut out of this by Thrasher? I understand why, but once you've seen it, you never forget it!
This is one of the best video parts in the sk8 history - insane sk8ing and super good punk music woof woof woof :) and i think this post is to remind us what is coming on the way... soon is gonna be the premiere of Danny's documetary Waiting For Lightning yeaaaaah :)
It's amazing how Danny's predominantly a vert skater and he absolutely KILLED IT on the streets. Blunt slide variations, 360s down double sets, switch tres. One of the true pioneers of skating
Jeremy Early have you seen any Steve Caballero parts?
Basically Danny way is known today as vert skater but here he is on the earliest 1990's and Street skating was IT AND VERT was OUT ! so...
Danny always skated street and vert. He is a natural and rips at both.
Kel Something I think cab would agree that Danny way destroys him at all types of skateboarding... no disrespect to cab
@@SlendermandDaSlikk he said ONE of the pioneers. There's more than one pioneer. There's a lot of them
The soundtrack to this skate video had a major impact on my life during the 90s.
You’re not the only one..!
Big Drill Car, Bad Religion, and Pennywise. 🤘🤘
ME TOO IT BLEW ME AWAY
I’m 45 haven’t touched a board for 20 years but remember this like it was yesterday.
DITTO ME TOO
its not too late.....
I have this one on VHS. Back when I was a kid my friends and I would start the day with this video. Glory days for sure.
Bro what the hell, Danny Way killed it in the streets, I love the line with the pressure hardflip, and the backside double flip, I have never seen anybody do this after that until Bastien
Damn, this brings back memories. I grew up watching this movie. 'Questionable' and 'Virtual Reality' are still two of the sickest skate vids ever!!
DONT FORGET SECOND HAND SMOKE
Now that's what a cop is supposed to be like.
once a cop told me I couldn't skate here but recommended a nearby skatespot
Yea i feel for the cop, hes busy as fuck but the public are retards
That cops is a straight up punk rock hero bro.
I love the quality of the film from the 90s. It makes shit look so primitive and raw.
That is absolutely TIMELESS...Thats better than many parts i still see today.
1992. I remember buying the VHS in high school. 27 years ago. Unreal.
When this came out, so many people were focused on Rodney converting to street (which was amazing). Between that and how natural Danny Way skated street, his conversion got overlooked by most at the time. So much respect to all the non-street skaters on Plan B killing their street parts.

Yeah you lucky, I like a lot a skater from vista, john sonner
Me, too!
Bad religion, back 360s down big shit, huge double kink board slide, and some boss vert skating such a good part! True classic thanks thrasher for posting this! So gnarly I love all the old plan b videos.
Mike T. with the sickest edits. Danny fucking slayed, changed my life with those three songs
I've always know D-Way was a legend, but now I truly know why. This part right here is a great part for a pro today so doing this back then should be putting a lot of today's pro's to shame. Wow. D-Way.
this part could be in any video nowadays n still seem ahead of its time awesome part

A few years ago some body left me a skate and have landed kickflip a few times. I was amazed. But really scare to injure my self

His style in this video is pretty technical, even for today. Awesome video, true classic.
He's 40 years old now and about to drop a part in The Plan B video. This guy is a monster!
yeah... a part in the new plan b video...
Yea plan b true
Plan b lies ...
He jumped the gret wall of china, I mean, Apart from rodney mullen he born with da goat no cap

"Supposed to be doing all this bitching stuff...Not chasing skateboarders." -- AMBITIOUS COP (Hilarious)
My first skate video....thanks to these guys, listening to big drill car, pennywise, bad religion etc...best video ever!
This is awfully quick and powerful for a 14 pound board with 40mm wheels, man must have rocket powered legs

Daewon is credited with the first hardflip on camera. I just saw Danny do a noseslide nollie hardflip out. Mind blown.

There's nobody skating like Danny Way still ✌️❤️
So well rounded.
After "Questionable" everything changed. This video made me realize that Danny Way was on a entirely different level.
music choice is amazing
That was the most awesome police officer ever

Thanks Danny Way because of your video i find them Big Drill Car ..nice to find themm

@Kyle Shade the cop is black.......
watch the actual video to see what Sal Barbier had to say about it.
I still remember that "I make more money than you" line from when I watched this as a kid, haha. Always a classic part to me ;)
"I guarantee it!"
Holy shit Danny Way was way ahead of his time. This still blows my mind.
dang, he was killing it, all around, even getting technical
That really was a great part really alot of confidence in bluntslides 10 years before they got popular
THAT MAKES UP FOR HIS PRESSURE FLIP SPAMMING
His H-Street part blew my mind back in the day
I grew up on this and virtual reality. Best vids ever.
good ol' danny way. tearin it up!
Love danny! Inspired my life.
20 years ago... i'm getting old!!!!!!!!!
"Why don't you go home to your mom" Danny:"Hey, I make more money than you"
There was literally no money in skateboarding at the time so he probably didn't lol. But these days......different story.
Wrong, this was before the market crash. Rocco, and Ternasky were loaded and handed wads of cash, and gave them corporate cards. I work in an office environment, and a lot of people around me don't make much.
says the guy with nothing to show but a comment.
Actually they did make a lot of money.
Yeah, this was before the crash, I was 16 at the time, world was huge, plan b was humongous, selling tons of boards, Danny was loaded, not always a good thing when ur young

arguably the greatest skate vid of all time... Blind Video days or this
@skateforlive123 Can't forget Big Drill Car for the first song. I can't tell you how many times I watched this video when it first came out.
B-E-A-Utiful treflips, and amazing rail skills
danny way. making you feel bad about your skateboarding since before you were born.
I remember when this vid came out...and now I feel old...
damn i had no clue how good he was on the streets back then. imagine how good he would be now if he kept street skating
HE SUFFERED A SURFING ACCIDENT SOON AFTER THIS VID AND FUCKED UP HIS BACK
still waiting for his part in video days to be released
NONSENSE WORDS LIKE "SWAG" OR "STEEZ" WAS NOT USED TO DESCRIBE THIS GOLDEN AGE OF SKATEBOARDING!!! SKATEBOARDING IS ALL ABOUT FUN AND DEDICATION!!!!
Damn, I miss spine ramps. Back in those days, people had their own steeze for skating mini ramps, and some guys were really good at it.
man, this part really holds up, especially the vert sections!
Legend has it that the cop at the end is still hoping and haunted, 29 years later, to not have another call.
Interviewer: Danny, would you say you're a better vert skater or a better street skater?
Danny: Yes.
I had totally forgot that danny is from my hometown, San Diego, and I wondered why all the spots he was skating looked soooo familiar
your wrong bro he's from portland, oregon. Same city im from
Those wheels are like 39mm 🤣😅😆😉 The really early 1990's !!!!

Those little ass 90's street wheels hahaa. Im so glad people ride big wheels and go fast nowadays. Much
" I make more money then you.. Skateboarding. Guarantee it."
I ove the high res stuff we have today but 90s film grain just hits so harder. 😢❤
that boardslide and back 3, plus all the noseblunt variations, could easily be tricks/enders in some video parts today. D-way's da best
The entire video is amazing. Think of the level of progression from Hokus Pokus to this
Big Drill Car - Take Away ♫
really classic video
Every single time I hear Pennywise, I remember why I started skateboarding.
@sebisthebestyes iz a classic, it will never get old :3
3 first second of the music and i'm back in 1992 . . .
Danny killing it on the streets.
To me, this is still considered insane compared to modern day skateboarding.
