In my opinion it just depends on what you are going to use more like Crimson For burst dmg, and Shimenawa for normal and charged atks. But in the end play what you like:D. Good luck to everyone on there rolls!

@@EnnardGarage I tried shiminawa on her. and make it permanent coz the 15 energy doesn't really matter. she still got her ulti up before his E skill runs out.
the good news is that 95% of the time you want heal before E runs out and not Heal first before pressing E.
my Shiminawa damage vs Crimson on charge attack is like 23k difference.
though I'm not sure about the total damage reaction. coz I feel like my yelan is the one doing the reaction to my dendro. and yelan damage is the one reacting to vaporize with hu tao. it's chaotic LOOL

Even though crimson witch has better numbers, shiminawa is very close. If you got Raiden is nice to have a character that can use all the shiminawa's pieces that you will end up getting while farming for emblem

know just at the start you do exactly the same charge atks xD thats what's kinda confusing xD (charge atk and at the end charge atk) the only different is bennets burst is active so its more a with buff things xD rather than "charge"

u actually don't even need raiden , emblem is good for almost all support characters that rely on burst
Shimenawa is more centered towards personal/raw dmg for na and ca while cw is team player set depending on reactions. If shimenawa didn't had that er consumption condition then it would have been bis set for many units.
if you are a new player who has hu tao, its more worth farming for shimenawa cause it came with the emblem set and its one of the most valuable artifacts since raiden, xingqiu, xiangling,... can use them too

Bro my head is about to burst, I already started farming for shiminawa cuz I have C6 on both xianling and shinshui, but in that video the damage with crimson witch seems on a whole new lvl 😭😭😭

I just came to see if Shimenawa is viable for Hu Tao and I’m big relieved to see that it is. Thank you. So many characters need Emblem set and I went all in for Raiden C2 on her last banner so she needs more love. Glad I can gear up both my mains at same time now
pretty hard for me to replace shimenawa with crimson since I've attained almost perfect substats with it and I have c1 which fits the set
i just got a rlly good ratio and now I'm finding it harder to shift from shim to crimson 😢😢
but i have to because I'm tired of not using her burst

@@nxku1747yes but its once in a bluemoon, hutao ult is much bettee when her E is active but when u activate her e it will consume energy thats ehy its pretty hard to use them both at once with shime
@@markangeloresulto2171 no, i actually was able to do it while using her e. You just need to get enough energy after you use your e and you'll be able to use it at the end before the effect runs out.
I prefer shim hu tao. With zhongli and yelan on fav weapons. It's easy to get more than 15 energy after I use hu tao burst. The CA dmg difference between the 3 set is pretty significant. Imo it makes up for the lesser burst dmg on shim
2 set *. Just use whatever set you have. Both very strong
So with Shimenawa's you have a small drop in burst damage and a little delayed burst use, but huge boost in terms of CA damage.
And u can do 11 of those boosted charge atk in a rotation and only one burst with shimenava
i am doing 120k + vape dmg with shimenawa

I pulled Hu Tao to have a good pyro dps
And the fact I was farming Emblem so she could use it
That didn't age well
In the end, Hu Tao ended up becoming a placeholder for all my Future Yoimiya's artifs
Like man my poor Hu Tao has never seen the light of day since I got Yoimiya
for me I use both of them

same 😂 yoimiya is easier to play and more fun ( esp on mobile )... I'll start building hu tao again once I get yelan ( this time I'll do crimson cuz i hate not being able to use burst )
@@yura6299 Crimson set Yoimiya is interesting ngl, I just choose Shimenawa cuz I thing Crimson needs to rely on a team comp for Vape but hey, that's your decision

I reccomend going for shimenawa, because u get eosf in the process that many supports can use, but its really anoyying if u dont have c1 hutao because it will be so rare for u to use E and Q at the same time.
I recommend witch if u dont have c1 because u dont have to mind energy recharge and you can use E + Q almost everytime.
i think we need more information here. crimson definitely outdamages shim, however just not by much and depends on your build. I imagine you don't have IDENTICAL pieces for both sets. So i think showing how much EM you have on top of crit differences would make a bit of a difference in damage.
Crimson out damages shim in terms of what? Because from what I can see, crimson is good for bust while Shim out damages crim on charged attacked.

Depends on how you use her if you do Burst then definitely Crimson is better but if you're a sane person you use her charge attack then shimenawa is better
shim is better on hutao because crimson only depends on the elements reaction

Shimenawa for f2p, crimson domain is cursed. All of us have shimenawa and emblem, because that domain at yashiori is the best for many characters. I use 4p shimenawa and it saved me many resins. Crimson is better for vaporize but it's a pain to farm in that domain with lavawalker. Use Deathmatch or dragonsbane for low spenders. Good luck for pulls, enjoy lantern rite.

i gave all my shimenawa pieces to yoimiya cuz i like her playstyle more lol, I'll go back into emblem domain to farm pieces for the funeral director once i get yelan so its two birds in one stone
using the exact same artifact main and substats on a damage chart here are the damage difference i ended up having
Charge attack:
4pc shimenawa deals around %4-5 more damage per charge attack compared to crimson witch
Burst:
4pc crimson witch deals around %22-25 more damage on burst compared to shimenawa
Artifact main stats were HP% sands, Pyro goblet, CD circlet
Artifact substats were CR, CD, ATK%, EM
Hu Tao Stats were:
Level 90 with 9-9-9 talent levels
C0 - R1 Staff of Homa
31597 HP
117 EM
75 CR
341 CD
Overall Shimenawa HuTao is always a better choice.
Only option for Chrimson HuTao better is if you run her as a speedrun nuker at C6 with C4 Ayaka
IMO shim is better, since it’s less painful to farm for, and hu Taos kit focus more on her e rather than her q, though both is good for her, shim is more efficient in farming and gameplay

I would choose crimson over shimenawa as overall its better tho its not resin efficient but 100% of lava walker can get strong boxed so thats cool
crimson is not overall better, with hu tao you end up doing ca way more than burst, so ca dmg adds up and makes up for the loss of burst, and you get artifacts for more than 1 character if u farm shim

Remember, hu tao main combo it's from her CA, not burst

If u want a burst nuke hutao go for crimson or if u want a charge attacking hutao(her original playstyle) go for shimenawa(nevertheless, both are rlly good on her)
Guys, as a hu tao main that played both set for over 6 months at this point. USE CRIMSON WITCH! It's incredle how the 15 energy drain fck's your gameplay. There are so many situations where you quickly want to burst with hu tao to get her hp back or finisch an enemie in the abyss what u simply can't and after using your birst your energy is often to low to proc the artifact's set so either u don't use her burst at all to keep the 100% uptime of the set or u use it and basically every 2nd rotation deals way less dmg. And also, this guy didn't show his stats, because from my testing the gap between them on her ca is way thinner then his testing with similar substats.
TLDR: Crimson is way more consistent and no downsides, while Shimenawa just have a lot of downsides (either no burts at all or less ca dmg every 2nd rotation)
And btw. you can Strongbox Crimson but not Shimenawa
But you'll have to farm the Crimson domain, which is a cursed domain for most people. EoSF and Shimenawa domain is a win win because EoSF is too good for many characters.
Can hutao with shimenawa work well with xiangling high er+Raiden and xq I'm also trying to build my hutao s
And I've been using strongbox cuz the domain is too difficult for me so far sands and goblet is the only piece that I don't have decent stats for hutao
@@ThoNguyen-bv4xl I have a 240cv with a lot of hp and 112 em crimson set without ever farming the domain, all from strong box. Sure it takes more time than farming the domain itself but after like a month of strongbox and some rng you will get a decent set from jt
@@tenka511 your xiangling will steal your hutao the vapes or vise versa and you loose dps and raiden wants uptime as well. Your team is basically 2dps + 2 off field dps. Not sure how much fun this team is because you've no way of survivability except xingqui. I strongly recommend adding a shield unit to your hutao team
there both great options for her, so I would just say: use the one that has better sub stats :)
easy to say , crimson good for reaction.... but the domain is not resin friendly... futhermore , shimenawa good at charge attack and the domain is resin friendly emblem good for sub dps like xingqiu , xiangling , bedou , yelan , and raiden to🎉
Nice I was thinking of what other artifacts I can put on her. I just got her on my alt account yesterday it's been years she out and I never get try her. Now I have my chance. Lol
Since I have excellent Shimenawa artefacts lingering on my account (and have difficulty farming CC), I will choose Shimenawa.
If you’re just starting and arent hardcore, farm shimenawa since farming crimson witch will make you want to blow your brains out

Having C1 hu tao is good and she doesnt need ER too, people in reddit are arguing like she needs 140+ burst even though she doesnt need ANY er.
Crimson Witch of Flames is great artifact for her but if you want a more advantage farm on shimenawa. Cause EOSF is in that domain. You can strongbox it if you want too
Farm for shimenawa and emblem if you didn't get any good pieces strongbox them for witch crimson
Bloodstained is also a good set for smoother charged attack. But quite difficult to have its passive active most of the time.

Crimson is better for em reaction and burst while shimenawa is better for normal and charged attacks. It depends on which one you prefer both is still great. As for me I use both🗿
well, you will always be using charged attack anyways. So, shimenawa will be the better option since she cant max out crimson witch 4pc set benefit
@@saelee2543 Agreed. Although players playstyle may vary, some may only use solely for her Charged att. Some use her to the fullest, charged+burst. So by using shimenawa, her energy is mostly used for charged att. I've used both set in spiral abyss and each one has potential

my hu tao has 2pc gladiator 2pc crimson witch having a normal atk crit about 22k with primodial jade winged spear im a f2p player btw.

I use Hu Tao with Shimenawa and Primordial Jade Winged-Spear. Her max solo damage under 50% HP with no ult in the Regisvid Cryo is 17,970.
Artifacts: 4 of Shimenawa and 1 of Gladiator's Longing.
Attributes: 29,850 HP
ATK: 1,424
DEF: 881
EM: 79
Max Stamina: 176
CRIT Rate: 49.2%
CRIT DMG: 203.9%
Energy Recharge: 138.9%
Pyro DMG Bonus: 79.6%

Crimson is better but when i farmed for yelan set i got a perfect shimenawa artifacts for hu tao that's why i'm gonna use the shimenawa set
My hutao is 50/273 with shiminewa and 200+ em , not homa weapon, but hp is 24k
With crimson , my hutao is 76/224, 33k hp 180+em
in order to maximize ur dmg u should prefer HP% stats for shiminewa and EM for crimson. so for crimson i advice u to get around 250-300 EM
My Shimanawa rolls are so insane I can't get good pieces on crimson😢 I thought I could use this on her temporarily but Now stuck with it.
Ratio: 68 cr 276 cd 30k hp
Mine is 70cr and 103cd. I need better artifacts but resin is holding me back. I always get lavawalker so I'm going to.try shim now

With this build, it will increase the damage of Hu Tao's Burst. This is great for one-shot builds, especially when you combo it with Vaporize or Melt.
both work, just use the one with better stats
İf you wanna use your ult go for crimson but if you dont need to use your ult go for shim
I'm so confused about the charge atk test, cause at the start he does just charge attack xD and would be also cool to make a reaction test cause some people run a reaction team Hu-tao+Xingqiu

Shimenawa is just a lose if hu tao dont have energy and 15% pyro damage is better than 18% ATK because atk buffs only buffs your base attack but elemental damage bonus actually multiplies your elemental dmg

It's much more frustrating to farm for crimson cause half of time you'll get some bs. I wasted week on this god damn set and all I've got that is close to "fine by me" is one flower with perfect stats. Good luck farming for pyro cup and cr damage hat.

tbh i use shim on my alt account’s hu tao and i honestly think crim is infinitely better cause that’s what i use on my main account. it has the reaction bonuses which is really important because you almost always use hu tao on vape, melt, or burgeon comps, yk? that really increases her damage a lot considering how the game is elemental damage and reaction oriented, especially now that dendro is out, a burgeon comp with hu tao works great cause it gives her a bigger buff/bonus than the vape ones. shim gives good charged ark damage, but crim has better damage all around tbh
Use shimenawa at c0 if you hate yourself.
Gilded will always be her most efficient Domain to farm. Shimenawa is great but Gilded has better functionality with her kit overall and is barely behind Crimson in damage. Shim is only good if you stricly want to use her for charge attacks and is restricting to enjoy her full kit with. FARM GILDED.
Shimenawa isn't exactly going to restrict her kit though.. You're just not Bursting as often as CW. With Hu Tao, you're really only Bursting when you need HP back or I-Frames anyways so there's no issues with the slight Burst DPS lost. Also, no she will not need ER for it since she'd be on field catching particles.
You're still going to do a lot of damage, as a majority of her DPS time comes from her Charged attacks. I seriously don't get the dumbass comments against Shimenawa, it's stupid. 🤦♂️

I got xingxiu yelan raiden xiangling and they all use emblem while farming ive got tons of shimenawa and now even my ganyu uses shimenawa and now it's hutao rerun and I don't have enough resins left to farm crimson I think shimenawa will do for now 😭😭😭😭
Shimenawa is better because it comes with an emblem. What I recommend is to use Shimenawa for the moment and use the artifacts that are useless, use them in the locket for the Crimson Witch
