Anyone should not actively farm crimson just farm emblem and shime and strongbox crimson and build whatever to get first but yes zhongli makes hutao soo much better sometimes i feel getting zhongli is hutao c1 that u can spend all ur stamina in her charged and face tank all attacks without dashing if u want to increase ur hutao dmg i can help u in also a pure f2p hutao main
Hi, shimenawa works fantastic well on hutao too, if you dont mind the grind. I prefers Layla she has better shield and cryo application, fit the double 20% hp artifact on her and her sheild will last. Also pair yelan and xingqui together. Hp buff from yelan and yelan passive also add dmg. 5 star character isnt inaccessible to f2p now. Yelan has a few rerun. Good luck on your hutao.
I don’t mind spending another 2k resin for EM sands. With more Crit and may be just better flower and Feather I have cus I do wana increase crit rate to 70% for burgeon teams with hutao.

I’ll say like getting weapons from weapon banners is never worth it or even getting constellation of 5 star characters as if u just constellation of 4 stars they are awesome and their performance can compensate for bad artifact of any main dps characters atlest that’s what I have noticed and it working so far for me.
I use zhongli for shield, xinque for hydro dmg and vap reaction, fischl (got her c6 while trying for Hu Tao it was waste to not use her) for emotional support and oz for overload or electro charged attacks, Hu Tao as dps.... And now she ezly does 100k+ with every vap bursts . The perfect team comp for me.

Most people don’t have any clue how good Hutao actually is and make her limited to just 1 team.
i have a lot to add to this guide. there are basically 2 ways to play Hu Tao: a vape/melt team, or a mono pyro team your video features the first play style: vape/melt team 4-pc crimson with some EM (200-300) The best F2P weapon: dragon's bane (especially with refinements) team comps: double hydro (xingqiu, yelan, free slot: Layla, Zhongli, kazuha, Thoma, xiangling) double geo ( xingqiu, Zhongli, albedo) f2p ( xingqiu, xiangling, shielder) the second playstyle: mono-pyro this playstyle focuses a lot on pyro damage, so EM is not important. it's also risen-efficient. the cons are that you're limited to Pyro, Geo, and Anemo characters in this play style. 4-pc shimenawa ( crit, pyro damage bonus, hp). best f2p weapon: blackcliff, white tassel (crit weapons) team comps: best: ( xiangling, kazuha, Zhongli ) double geo ( xiangling, Zhongli, albedo) Normal ATK focus ( Zhongli, xiangling, Yun Jin) f2p ( xiangling, sucrose, Thoma) to sum up you need a shielder in almost every C0 Hu Tao team. if you do reaction use xingqui with some EM in her build. if you don't do reactions then focus on her normal and charged attacks (higher hp is better to increase Hu Tao's self-buffing) any crit weapon will do well. I tried my best to include everything, feel free to add to it if I missed anything☺
@@platnm It works well if you want to apply Pyro on a larger AOE (especially in a mono-pyro). it's even better to have her constellations. her C1 decreases pyro resistance. her C4 increases her Pyronado's duration which gives easier rotations. her C6 gives all party members a Pyro damage bonus increase. I can see why some players might be a little uncomfortable. it doesn't benefit from Xiangling's full kit and potential, since the Pyronado won't be hitting the enemy as it does in other team comps (like Child National). the point of using Xiangling is to increase the AOE application and team utility ( with a lot of ER in xiangling build). if your xiangling does more damage than your hu tao, then stick to the first playstyle where you rely on reactions to maximize your damage.

I'm also a F2P Hu Tao main. That build's not too bad for F2P, Dragon's Bane is certainly a very strong EM polearm. I skipped a few banners back in 2.x and was able to get Staff of Homa during her first rerun banner, if you can get that 5-star weapon, even only at R1 it's definitely her BiS and you'll never want to use anything else on her. C1 also makes her feel a lot better to play and not as dependent on shields, you can comfortably dash cancel instead of jump cancelling and use those s to dodge attacks. I used Shimenawa's for the longest time because my CW pieces had garbage stats, but eventually switched back to CW after strongboxing for better pieces. Both sets are good, but CW is more reaction-dependent and I think her dps ceiling is higher with CW. Try to aim for an average of 30+ crit value on all your artifacts if you can, your current ones are around 20-25-ish and that's a very good start. EM and HP% are good stats too of course!

@@platnm Makes sense, it's usually a good idea to round out your teams first with a good selection of characters. Pulling for constellations or 5-star weapons on F2P/low-spending accounts should generally be saved for reruns, unless you have insane luck or something lol. Plus since fate points don't carry over between weapon banners, you generally need to skip a lot of banners to save up for a guaranteed 5-star weapon, so the weapon banners just aren't very F2P friendly.
there is a limit on his HP base damage saying a maximum of 400% of her attack yada yada. my biggest question is what would be her max HP to maximize her highest HP base DPS?
I’ll say what I have noticed with 4 star weapon I go as close to 30k hp and 400Em with double hydro in team and then I focus on crit rate and crit damage so something like 70 crit rate 170 crit damage I have with those stata.
4:51 let me introduce you desert pavillion after a month i got a good flower and sans . Except that everything was ours scrap so i nust used virdescent benner and a royal musk circlet with 64% crit dmg . By good i mean decent. Instead i saud screw it virdescent and shinemina and that royal masque 77%/194% crit/crit DMG. Em don't remember
i use beido C3 u burst as shield and xingqiu C1 burst with it actually works pretty well , i might add kazuha if i get it in next banner (also waiting for zhongli ) but its the most i can do as F2P guy

Which artifact set you got btw you can reduce crit rate to 60 if you can also, dragons bane is much much better if you can replace it with deathmatch and use Crit rate headpiece. Use EM sands over Hp mostly slightly better.
I am a hu tao main and i have been playing her without a shield character .... Is it like very necessary for me to have a shield character to get the best of hu tao??
if you have her C1 then that won't be necessary. the point of a shielder is just to use as much stamina as you can on charged attacks and not waste it on dodging. just to squeeze out every bit of damage in the spiral abyss, but it won't make much difference in the open world.

Hmm let’s see Keqing is an onfield character including Neuvillette and Hutao. So u can’t use them with each other. That being said I’ll not be Getting NeuVillette becus there are only so many hydro characters I can have as far as I know Hydro Archon will launch in next patch and another must have Hydro 5star is Yelan. About Hutao she is the strongest single target Dps in Genshin impact and in her best team she is UNKILLABLE. And she is very fun to play with for beginners I’ll recommend watch My 4th slot Hutao video where I Showed you her best F2P team and it’s has Xingqiu and Diona in it. If u decide to wish and get hutao Xingqiu and Diona for the banner you can instantly make team if all 3 plus one more other characters. And about Your Keqing if u like I can make a video for Her as I m bit bored.
all of them take a long time on the field, which is why you can't pair either of them with Keqing. try pairing her up with the Dendro traveler, xingqiu, and fishl together. if you don't have fischl then use sucrose. if you don't have either use Beidou or Neolle.
man i have yelan and xingqiu and i have staff of homa (wanted aqua for yelan but got that instead )too but i dont have zhongli should i get herr?? i have diona and layla but are they viable?
Talked about that in my other video but I’ll recommend using 2 pc crymson and 2 pc Em if you can’t get 4 pc crymson cus hutao is pritty good with burgeon and you need lots of em.
Layla would work as she does have a stronger shield than Diona, while also dealing more damage. Diona heals which is something you DONT want for hutao so her burst would be pretty much useless. Meanwhile Layla has off field energy generation, a useable burst, and a stronger shield. also crimson witch is in the strongbox? Why would you need to farm it lol
Damn 6 months ago... - Anyways, teammates. Diona is really mid, and I would not recommend using her, unless you have no other options. She heals, which clashes with Hutao's passive _(being undero 50% HP),_ her shield is weak and has small uptime, her main buff requires C6 (200 EM buff) and it locks Hutao in a circle. Layla is a much better option, she is way cheaper to build _(no need for too much ER),_ easy to use, has access to Tenacity set, has a very strong shield with 99% uptime, and quite good Cryo application in comparison to Diona. - For weapon, you can use White Tassel just fine. It has 13.4% less CR than Deathwatch, less base atk, which is not relevant considering how Hutao's main source of getting ATK is HP, but a fine passive, giving 48% NA DMG bonus, which can give some DMG increase when you Vape/Melt your Normals while doing N1CA. And the best part is that this weapon is a 3*, it's free to play and is very easy to get. Deathmatch sucks, but if I were to update this guide, I would include the new BP polearm introduced in Fontaine, that gives EM and CR. That stick is POG and will give you a quite significant damage boost. - For sets, use Shimenawa if you don't want to lose resin. It's a good set for her, ofc you're losing on burst, but with fine ER you can still squeeze out burst every other rotation, so it's not a big deal. Farm for Shimenawa/Emblem, while strongboxing Crimson Witch, and you'll eventually get a good set there, like I did. Other option is any 2x2, as long as it's EM, Pyro DMG or HP. Any other 4p set either doesn't work, quite bad or requires a specific unit to be viable.

You can say back then i was limited by resources and also if u compare 2 weapons they both need to be at same or very similar level. I have used over 4.5k blue crystals since that video to level up weapons of Fontain and today morning I have 107 blue ones after doing abyss and event. Which was used by something and I m down to less then 30 blues.

About the farming artifact part I have farmed Crimson domain more then Emblem domain. Used Diluc since 2.0 then Hutao since 2.4 and yeah I farmed a lot man.

i use a 4p crimson witch but the funny part is no EM it all 50% cc to 220cd and my charge attacks comeout at like 55k i wish i had EM on my artifacts but no luck
Well with Double hydro EM sands is slightly better but if u have better stats on hp sands it may perform very close. Btw I did made lots of new HuTao Videos you may wana check out for things you don’t know about increasing damage ETC.
Oh it’s hard to farm for Kokomi and when I was doing that my Itto had 70 / 170 with white blind. And I still don’t has decent artifact for my Kokomi so I ended up using 2 heal and 2 emblem set.
Perfect timeing You can use it but every other polearm does more damage than that. And also you can craft polearm from Sumeru if u need f2p option just R1 of that polearm.
Then again if u don’t care too much just wana have fun u can get the black cliff cus getting Sumeru polearm temporary is not worth the time soon you will eventually get dragons bane which is awesome option.
A really detailed and well planned video so i have one question if i dont really have good crimson artifacts can i use 2 piece shimenawa and 2 piece artifacts giving em bonus? i have good shimenawa pieces cv around 30-40
I tried it once got a feather with double Crit value and it got ~5% crit rate and ~14% crit damage which totally sucked cus I had better then that and the other stats were just flat defence and attack.
My Hu-Tao's team is - Xingqiu, Yelan and Layla (since I don't have Zhongli and also Layla's shield is stronger than Diona's). My Hu-Tao is C2 and using Primodal Jade with 4 pcs Crimson.
My hu tao is literally level 90 with 2pc of crimson and level 80 r5 dragon’s bane with talent 3,5,7 ( still she manages to hit in 3 hundred thousands) 🥺🤌🏻❤️
There is no "correct" way to play any character. Hutao doesn't necessarily need charge attacks, especially for c0. you can pair her with Yunjin for light atk/hybrid atk build, and its very fun and easy to play. Zhongli (shield spot) isn't super necessary as well. A well-build Hutao has a pretty big hp bar, and the burst can provide healing effects in case of emergency. Xingqiu has knockout resistance and damage reduction already, making Hutao pretty tough without a shield. White Tassel is a solid weapon for her, especially if you go for light atk build. But even in a charge attack build it isn't bad at all, thanks to crit chance buff. Shimenawa's Reminiscence is a very solid artifact set for Hutao (if you're not going for burst build). The damage is comparable to crimson witch set, and the you get the Emblem of Severed Fate at the same time (one of the most versatile sets in the game). Remember your own reasons for pulling characters in the first place. For me, I only pull characters because I actually like them, not because of how strong they are. If you're really stressed about maxing out every single aspect of you team, everything i just mentioned is bullshit, and just save for Neuvilette and Furina not Hutao.
Hello. I wanted to add a bit of details in that final comparison in between deathmatch and dragon's bane. Your damage lowered slightly but you had considerably more crit rate so the dps should be higher with deathmatch. But the thing is you were using em sands on db basically making the em go far higher than desired and losing other stats in return. In reality dragon's bane is a bit superior to deathmatch at their ceiling so the execution was not the best but the result was! Additional things: -Deathmatch is easier to build allowing more flexibility (you can use em/hp sands and if you overdo crit rate you just switch to cdmg circlet) -Strongbox the crimson witch!!! You can get a guilded dreams or shimenawa provisionally and strongbox crimson witch for long term. No need to go inside that hell of a domain
fun fact: Xingqiu is HuTao's best friend.

I'm also a F2P Hu Tao main. That build's not too bad for F2P, Dragon's Bane is certainly a very strong EM polearm. I skipped a few banners back in 2.x and was able to get Staff of Homa during her first rerun banner, if you can get that 5-star weapon, even only at R1 it's definitely her BiS and you'll never want to use anything else on her. C1 also makes her feel a lot better to play and not as dependent on shields, you can comfortably dash cancel instead of jump cancelling and use those s to dodge attacks. I used Shimenawa's for the longest time because my CW pieces had garbage stats, but eventually switched back to CW after strongboxing for better pieces. Both sets are good, but CW is more reaction-dependent and I think her dps ceiling is higher with CW. Try to aim for an average of 30+ crit value on all your artifacts if you can, your current ones are around 20-25-ish and that's a very good start. EM and HP% are good stats too of course!

@@platnm Makes sense, it's usually a good idea to round out your teams first with a good selection of characters. Pulling for constellations or 5-star weapons on F2P/low-spending accounts should generally be saved for reruns, unless you have insane luck or something lol. Plus since fate points don't carry over between weapon banners, you generally need to skip a lot of banners to save up for a guaranteed 5-star weapon, so the weapon banners just aren't very F2P friendly.

I’ll say what I have noticed with 4 star weapon I go as close to 30k hp and 400Em with double hydro in team and then I focus on crit rate and crit damage so something like 70 crit rate 170 crit damage I have with those stata.

I’ll recommend using Bennet with then better than Kazuha and I’ll highly recommend getting Neuvillette over Kazuha but in the end it’s your choice.

Which artifact set you got btw you can reduce crit rate to 60 if you can also, dragons bane is much much better if you can replace it with deathmatch and use Crit rate headpiece. Use EM sands over Hp mostly slightly better.

if you have her C1 then that won't be necessary. the point of a shielder is just to use as much stamina as you can on charged attacks and not waste it on dodging. just to squeeze out every bit of damage in the spiral abyss, but it won't make much difference in the open world.

About Hutao she is the strongest single target Dps in Genshin impact and in her best team she is UNKILLABLE. And she is very fun to play with for beginners I’ll recommend watch My 4th slot Hutao video where I Showed you her best F2P team and it’s has Xingqiu and Diona in it. If u decide to wish and get hutao Xingqiu and Diona for the banner you can instantly make team if all 3 plus one more other characters. And about Your Keqing if u like I can make a video for Her as I m bit bored.
all of them take a long time on the field, which is why you can't pair either of them with Keqing. try pairing her up with the Dendro traveler, xingqiu, and fishl together. if you don't have fischl then use sucrose. if you don't have either use Beidou or Neolle.

Layla would work as she does have a stronger shield than Diona, while also dealing more damage. Diona heals which is something you DONT want for hutao so her burst would be pretty much useless. Meanwhile Layla has off field energy generation, a useable burst, and a stronger shield. also crimson witch is in the strongbox? Why would you need to farm it lol

- Anyways, teammates. Diona is really mid, and I would not recommend using her, unless you have no other options. She heals, which clashes with Hutao's passive _(being undero 50% HP),_ her shield is weak and has small uptime, her main buff requires C6 (200 EM buff) and it locks Hutao in a circle. Layla is a much better option, she is way cheaper to build _(no need for too much ER),_ easy to use, has access to Tenacity set, has a very strong shield with 99% uptime, and quite good Cryo application in comparison to Diona.
- For weapon, you can use White Tassel just fine. It has 13.4% less CR than Deathwatch, less base atk, which is not relevant considering how Hutao's main source of getting ATK is HP, but a fine passive, giving 48% NA DMG bonus, which can give some DMG increase when you Vape/Melt your Normals while doing N1CA. And the best part is that this weapon is a 3*, it's free to play and is very easy to get. Deathmatch sucks, but if I were to update this guide, I would include the new BP polearm introduced in Fontaine, that gives EM and CR. That stick is POG and will give you a quite significant damage boost.
- For sets, use Shimenawa if you don't want to lose resin. It's a good set for her, ofc you're losing on burst, but with fine ER you can still squeeze out burst every other rotation, so it's not a big deal. Farm for Shimenawa/Emblem, while strongboxing Crimson Witch, and you'll eventually get a good set there, like I did. Other option is any 2x2, as long as it's EM, Pyro DMG or HP. Any other 4p set either doesn't work, quite bad or requires a specific unit to be viable.

You can say back then i was limited by resources and also if u compare 2 weapons they both need to be at same or very similar level. I have used over 4.5k blue crystals since that video to level up weapons of Fontain and today morning I have 107 blue ones after doing abyss and event. Which was used by something and I m down to less then 30 blues.

About the farming artifact part I have farmed Crimson domain more then Emblem domain. Used Diluc since 2.0 then Hutao since 2.4 and yeah I farmed a lot man.

Oh it’s hard to farm for Kokomi and when I was doing that my Itto had 70 / 170 with white blind. And I still don’t has decent artifact for my Kokomi so I ended up using 2 heal and 2 emblem set.

Perfect timeing You can use it but every other polearm does more damage than that. And also you can craft polearm from Sumeru if u need f2p option just R1 of that polearm.
Then again if u don’t care too much just wana have fun u can get the black cliff cus getting Sumeru polearm temporary is not worth the time soon you will eventually get dragons bane which is awesome option.
Also try looking up damage comparison between white tassel and black cliff and also crescent pike cus that’s also okay to use temporary.

I tried it once got a feather with double Crit value and it got ~5% crit rate and ~14% crit damage which totally sucked cus I had better then that and the other stats were just flat defence and attack.

My Hu-Tao's team is - Xingqiu, Yelan and Layla (since I don't have Zhongli and also Layla's shield is stronger than Diona's).
My Hu-Tao is C2 and using Primodal Jade with 4 pcs Crimson.

There is no "correct" way to play any character. Hutao doesn't necessarily need charge attacks, especially for c0. you can pair her with Yunjin for light atk/hybrid atk build, and its very fun and easy to play. Zhongli (shield spot) isn't super necessary as well. A well-build Hutao has a pretty big hp bar, and the burst can provide healing effects in case of emergency. Xingqiu has knockout resistance and damage reduction already, making Hutao pretty tough without a shield. White Tassel is a solid weapon for her, especially if you go for light atk build. But even in a charge attack build it isn't bad at all, thanks to crit chance buff. Shimenawa's Reminiscence is a very solid artifact set for Hutao (if you're not going for burst build). The damage is comparable to crimson witch set, and the you get the Emblem of Severed Fate at the same time (one of the most versatile sets in the game).
Remember your own reasons for pulling characters in the first place. For me, I only pull characters because I actually like them, not because of how strong they are. If you're really stressed about maxing out every single aspect of you team, everything i just mentioned is bullshit, and just save for Neuvilette and Furina not Hutao.

Hello. I wanted to add a bit of details in that final comparison in between deathmatch and dragon's bane.
Your damage lowered slightly but you had considerably more crit rate so the dps should be higher with deathmatch.
But the thing is you were using em sands on db basically making the em go far higher than desired and losing other stats in return. In reality dragon's bane is a bit superior to deathmatch at their ceiling so the execution was not the best but the result was!
Additional things:
-Deathmatch is easier to build allowing more flexibility (you can use em/hp sands and if you overdo crit rate you just switch to cdmg circlet)
-Strongbox the crimson witch!!! You can get a guilded dreams or shimenawa provisionally and strongbox crimson witch for long term. No need to go inside that hell of a domain
