This brings me back 35 years. The Indians were a great band who could command audiences of 2,000+ in Northern Ireland. A very versatile band who could play C&W, ballads, pop or rock. A great talent and this brings it all back!!
as a kerry man i gave 6 months in dromahane doing a farming course, early 80's, the majestic was the the hot spot, joe mac & the dixies were regulars there
I have fantastic memories of this band in three prime and was in Cappagh Hospital working on the Children’s ward when they visited and I have a photo of Shane on the day. Great guys.

@greataway -god drumquin social centre brings back many good memories for me---my friends and i went to drumquin from pomeroy on a friday nite during summer months back in 71-75 when begleys hall closed from june to sept to allow diferant parish carnivals to take place-it was great venue-drumquin social centre--there where six of us ran about together-sadly 4 of them are now deceased(r.i.p) but great memories of those years at the differant halls and carnivals----if only you could turn bk time

They were a mighty band. They were originally called the casino showband. Noel Brady, was the best big chief, no doubt about it. Not much of their work, has turned up on c.d. I hope that someone will do something about it sometime.
Noel Brady I feel is the best but I am good friends with Raymond Kelly and I said he is 2nd and he agreed with me both brilliant but there is only one noel brady
yes derry whitelaw-who left the indians to form the apaches is sadly deceased as well he died from cancer about 6-7 years ago----i heard noel being interviewed on radio one nite about his days in indians and he said he had died unknown to him---he only heard after it had happened
can anyone name the 2 guys on extreme right of photo?-i know the rest of line up but these 2 left the band around 1972 but i cant remember their names -was the one on extreme right of photo-Derry Whitelaw?---if it is i think hes dead now-i heard noel brady in interview on radio about 6 months ago saying he had passed away unknown to him until after his funeral-anyone know?thanks

I remember these songs so well and marquees full to the brim with fans.Great simple times people were very happy then.
This brings me back years,they were the greatest band in Ireland back in 70's & early 80's saw them many many times,have many of their albums.

Mother bought us a record about 1970 or so, and we loved them
Got the lp with all of these songs and now on cd for my car and love listening to them every so often
Beechmount ballroom in Navan in the 70s for me. Thats where i first saw the Indians
I listened to their LPs as a kid. My dad owned their records. Left an indelible impression on me. Absolutely love these songs.
The fervour for these guys in Co Donegal was quite remarkable back in the day...still love listening to them🎶🎶🎶🎸🎸🎸😁
