Oh no! I have no idea how the ram could have unthreaded unless the clamp that it was threaded into came loose somehow. I'm definitely curious as to find out what happened that caused it and the fix. Hopefully it's an easy fix for you. I know the feeling when a piece of equipment isn't working. It messes with plans but, you'll have it back in no time. 👍
I'm counting the days till we get our grapple! Watching you work with this equipment is giving us a good idea what to look out for and the different uses.
BTW, your videos don't have to always be about you doing tractor work... although I love it! What makes your channel great is your personality. You're funny, and very good natured so we'd probably watch you change the oil in your car while you talk about "stuff" in general LoL.

Well thank you very much! I knew from a very early age as ugly as I was, I had better be funny!...lol Picked up a replacement today and will get it put on when I get home. Keep on watching!

I have the same grapple, I guess I better keep an eye on mine. Keep us informed..

Absolutely. This is one of the main reasons for my channel. For that new tractor owner that doesn't know what to keep their eye on until it breaks. Now we both know, and that's what's important! Thanks for watching!

Clean the threads up, screw it back down and snug the clamp up good and tight. Looks like the bolt on the clamp end got loose and allowed it to pull itself out of the threads. Check everything else for snugness while your in the area

Yeah, this could have easily been prevented if I'd paid better attention. I had noticed the threads being visible, but didn't take the time to actually see how far in the collar it was. Jon hooked me up with a replacement. I'll get it on when I get home.

But mines been through a lot more than that , it hadn't come loose, might be a defect! I would ask John Deere about it! Hope you get it fixed easy!

Looks like the clamping bolt worked loose letting the cylinder shaft do the same until it pulled out. Bad luck buddy. You can weld it like I saw someone suggested or use wire brush and a triangle file if you are set on it threading in. You might find a thread repair tool at harbor freight or auto parts store. It’s like are bar that has 8 different thread pitches on it and you use it like a file. If you know what I’m talking about please excuse the man splaining lol. I hope this help. Quick question.. have you considered a rear remote for a hydraulic top link and if you have which one thx

Hey John, thanks, but Jon my JD dealer replaced it and I switched them out today. Video coming tomorrow. I had factory 4th and 5th put on at purchase just so I could add top and tilt later. When I am able to do it, this is what I'm going to do: ruclips.net/video/wE6QXHZRAIM/видео.html

So are you going to have to replace it or just repair it? Is it considered a Warranty issue?

I called Jon. He is going to take what I need off a new grapple on the lot and replace mine. Should hear from him today.

I have a EA grapple and the same thing happened to me. Every thing on my grapple is US made and fabricated, except one item. The cylinder is made in China. Curious if the same thing with Frontier. Other than that, the EA grapple is great.

I didn't know about EA until after I got my tractor, plus I just financed everything at purchase. EA looks like they make some quality equipment.
