I took at marketing class for farming at Clemson University last fall. I've literally doubled the revenue on the farm. I've had nothing go to waste. My farm is in the suburbs and very close to peoples houses in the city, and the amount of people that will drive and pick things up directly on site is insane! I used to just sell at markets, but Sunday has turned into at least 5 people stopping by the farm and spending between $20-100 dollars each.
    Insanity!
As for cost, it cost me around $10,000 to start my market farm. This is only on the low end because I inherited a Jang Seeder, tiller, a tractor with an assortment of attachments, and every garden tool you could ever want. I also had free irrigation equipment. The perks of marrying a woman whose father is a retired farmer. My father-in-law also lets me farm for free on his land. To boot the land already has 500 blueberry bushes, blackberries, peaches, and apples growing on it. If it wasn't for marrying into farming I'd have needed like $50,000 easy.

I probably should have started my salad mix seeds indoors.

I have developed better ways to current high heat summers called Regenerative Feeding Station which counters current mistake of not adapting to weather changes.
