  • Exoman on Real Estate Boat Slip Investment. Exoman discusses living on your boat VS renting you wet slip as a vacation rental or full time rental and what amenities that might be included. He adds information about his AIRBNB VRBO rental houses and campers. Do you want to buy a wet slip or a dry slip where your boat is kept in a dry-stack and needs to be lifted out and lowered into the water. He speaks about the potential for expensive owners association assessments that can be astronomically expensive. Did you know that a boat forklift might cost you $750,000.
Exoman is looking at a ROI (return on investment ) of about 4-5%

Growing up on the Gulf coast, I had family friends who either owned a marina or had rental slips. Depending on the amenities, it was a great investment OR an opportunity as a "live aboard" for cheaper than rent. Something to seriously consider. The downside is Insurance. Being on the coast, flood, hurricane, water damage, etc. can be extreme. Anything with a 10% return is fantastic! Utterly love your vids. The fact that you two share your lives ( the lives most of us live), is wonderful and authentic. LOVE it!!!

Here in Texas I bought 2 Boat slips side by side.
Bulkhead is mine and built by me. Both slips come with a property title. Both slips required a normal closing process just like any other property.
They were not cheap and their value has exploded.

I have been thinking about investing in a wet slip in the Wilmington area, problem is, I want it for my boat! Some of the slips in the area can be $6k-$8k+ annual lease for a 24'. I currently have a marina/ramp membership which continues to increase every couple years. Almost at the point of buying a wet slip and installing a jet dock.

Even though my boat ownership and real estate are behind me, I thought this was very interesting, oh, and for the most part, the volume was better
