    I just found this video and it is absolutely gorgeous. I’m retired and I’m learning new hobbies and this is at the top of my list. I know I will need lots of practice but I can’t wait to try this one on a smaller piece of wood. Thank you for sharing your talent. I look forward to a future of Resin ocean painting. 😊

    I've been intimidated by resin but i just tried it on a throw away piece and it was alot easier than i thought.

    Lovely. But I think there is a much easier way to do this. I would suggest doing the blues first. Then, adding a photo or image of the whale. Let that cure. Then do a 2nd resin pour with the white to create the white waves. Voila. :)

I know you mentioned using acrylic paint. Do you recommend any particular brand? I'm a jewelry designer and I make unique pieces however since I started watching your video's I'm thinking I'd rather do something like this now. charmin745 thank you! About 3 days of cure time between layers if I’m going to sand it down. If not I can pour another coat the next day. I probably used about 10 oz of resin per layer. Not sure how think they each were. Thanks for watching 🤗

    What grit sandpaper are you using? Have never sanded between layers before😉

      aconley111 I’m not sure what grit it was, but very fine. I mainly sanded to remove imperfections in between layers 😉

    Thanks so much for sharing these resin techniques; I do mostly wood and custom paint artworks. If you don't mind, what type of paint are you using for the whale... and do you give it a specific dry time before adding another layer of resin? Thanks again for sharing.

      JimboH5 hi! Thanks for watching! I used acrylic paint for the whale. And dry time really depends on the Resin used and if you sand layers in between! At least 24 hrs with no sanding for art resin used here but usually I’ll give it a few days 🤗

      @@TamsCreativeCorner thanks for the quick reply; so usually 24hrs between acrylic painting and another clear resin coat?

    • @TamsCreativeCorner
      @TamsCreativeCorner  5 лет назад

      JimboH5 yes, with this resin i did do that on some of the layers. But it’s more cured and less likely to get messed up if you wait longer 😉

    Just stumbled across this and subscribed. Lovely work, the whale is a very nice touch. For this size of piece, how much resin are you using per layer?

    • @TamsCreativeCorner

      Michael Colgate thank you! I appreciate your subscribing too! I need to start keeping track of resin used. I’d guess it was approx 10 oz per layer.

    Do you let the first layer of resin dry before adding another layer?
