What changes are being made to security forces? I saw something saying that they were splitting it up so one side would be law enforcement and the other would be like infantry. If this is true would there be 2 separate MOS for it. Also how long will tech school be for the new structure?
I serve 20 years in the Air Force….. first as a security policeman and then I transitioned to security forces. I served in desert storm and then Somalia. Then numerous tours in Iraq and Afghanistan. I led a squad that were assigned to convoy duty. Most of the WIA or KIAs happened during these missions. We work jointly with the army, and sometimes the other branches of services as well. Yes, security forces in Garrison is mostly conducting law-enforcement and security functions. The initial security forces training is pretty Yōkō and easy. If you can’t get through that training you can’t handle the advanced training that will be headed your way if you ever deploy down Range.
