It's a completely different dorm since I went through Security Forces training in '02. I don't think it's even in the same location. When I was in, each dorm room exited to the outside (like a motel). I was on the 3rd floor. My wife was staying in Intown Suites in San Antonio. Because my room exited to the outside, I was able to sneak out every night, run down the stairs, across the road and through the ditch to where I hid my wife's car and go to my wife and daughters hotel. I only stayed the 1st night in my dorm. It was 2 airmen to a dorm room with 4 sharing the bathroom. I lucked out because my dorm mate didn't want to share a room so he kept my secret and kept the room clean. I don't think I could get away with that in this new dorm. Even though its different, you did bring me back some very very good memories of that, so thank you for posting this.
Still looks the same after a year and 1/2, including the Day Room. Was in Security Forces tech school before being re-classed into Supply/Materiel Management at the 344th, though I was at Jailhouse originally. The vending machine in the middle looks new though and they gave the walls at the Refuge a new paint job.
All the girls are so lucky to be in firehouse man, Jailhouse we had to share a bathroom and and pray that are wall lockers werent messed up. But Jailhouse did bring some good times
Ok real old retired SP here, we did tech school in the WWII barracks, had to use paste wax on the wood floors on our hands and knees every morning detail. 5 weeks of that then we had to go to Bullis for our last week and live in the plywood hooches. The lucky ones went to their first base after that, most of us had 7 more weeks at Bullis for 60 training and ABGD, again in the lovely hooches in the summer. If we wanted anything resembling entertainment we had to go to the Chaparral or Skylark and flirt with the female basic trainees LOL. At least we could drink in tech school back then, and the drinking age was 19.
You are required to have 2 boxes of MREs under the bed?! Will i be able to have 2 boxes of only vegetarian meals Or would i have to trade with other people?
Things have certainly changed since my time in USAF. My goodness! Hahaha. These people would cry tears if they had to live in the Barracks that I did. I’m talking back in 1971. I was insulted the first time I heard the slang chair force, I’m good with that now. Lol, so cold in the barracks at Loring AFB, you were glad to get out of the rack and hit the Latrine and take a red hot shower, slept in chicken coop shacks in Vietnam with screen wrapped around them to help keep the mosquitoes from sucking all of the blood out of your body. Lol, if I were in today I would certainly make a career out of that piece of cake. Yes I was a SP, and was treated as one. How bout those open bay latrines where you had maybe 20 toilets and 20 sinks no more then 6’ across from one another. If you was shaving or brushing your teeth you always had someone sitting behind you taking a dump.
I'll be there in September but you'll be gone by then. I can't wait. I'm tryna get swole while I'm out there tho.....how often can I go to the gym while in SF tech school.
hey girl my gf starts tech school next week. is there something you recommend for me to give to her ? i wanna send a care package with a few stuff but not sure what.
How does joining the Security Forces work. You pass the Asvab test and let's say you pass and can choose to go for it. Do you start training for it right away, do you have to get picked for it, is there a waiting period or something? I wouldn't want to be stuck with something else or have to get lucky to get it or wait really long to do it.
Security forces is high demand but you will have to get picked for it and if it’s open you’ll get it the only waiting period is for your contract. As long as you meet the requirements for Security Forces, there’s a high chance of getting it
hey im Taylor and im joining soon and i am trying to get more info on jobs. My top 2 jobs are Diet Therapy & Security Forces. Do you like the job SF and how was/is your tech school experience? Also would you recommend SF to anybody?
I’ll make a video on my experience but I personally love it and I’ve always wanted to become an police officer. It’s just physically challenging and mentally
@@glomafia but y’all have a mess hall or cafeteria where you can get your three meals? Also, thank you for your service and for taking the time to reply!! Stay blessed

Same with my sons A.I.T. at Gordon.
So glad I found this video since my shipping date is August 10 & I'm also doing security forces!
Lots of changes for the better since I was at the jailhouse in 1992 :) thanks for posting the video
Glad you enjoyed it
I leave November 30th for SF and I’m so excited!!

Yeah they just put new couches after this video
still looks the same as it did back in 2009 LOL
That looks like a fancy motel. Mine when I went through training was an old ww2 mob barracks.

My tech school barracks at Keesler was old with no frills.
Changed a lot since 77
I love the video! You should do a video of how it was living in the dorm. Keep up the good work beautiful!
Shoot thanks for the tour I hit basic March and my job is SF :D
The good memories
Man a lot has changed in 8 years since I’ve been down there
Bon travay kouz 🎉🎉🎉🏆
Aye , what you know about Air Force special operations command ? An have you met any Guys that are in special warfare??
There’s a few on my team from special warfare but there’s something your not allowed to say

Woooowww that’s a good story I never would’ve thought. We really have it easy then
@@glomafia The guys who went through 10 years before me thought we were slackers and had it easy LOL
OMG I remember Bullis, MOB barracks. This looks like a sissy factory here.
@@Stillstoned1 My college dorm was ghetto compared to this
this was such a cute video ❤️

You don’t get to pick meals unfortunately but if you’re vegetarian they will accommodate that for you.
So glad i just graduated
Certainly has changed since ‘05 -geez. Is this the barracks at bullis?
No the one on Lackland
Do you have time to lift weights in tech school?
Yes,would you like a video? Your duty day ends @1700 then yoh have the weekend

First there’s phasing up after phase 2 depending on your MTL. Right after duty hours 1700 and on weekends so moderate
I can do a separate video for the gym
@@glomafia Ok great I appreciate it missy. How's the academic part for SF in tech school? So far...?
Me gustó mucho el video
I’m going SF too, just waiting on a ship date
hey girl my gf starts tech school next week. is there something you recommend for me to give to her ? i wanna send a care package with a few stuff but not sure what.
Send snacks nothing too much cause when camp bullus come she gotta pack her things. Should can send necessities to save her money and some warm stuff
Do u like security forces? I’ve been told so many bad things and I just have a lot of questions (I leave this month)
I love it it has its moments like every job do but overall its a lot of opportunities.
unless its a different trs, this looks nothing like the ones I was in back in 1999. ours were not indoor dorms. our door led to outside. way different
us males in jailhouse do not have it this nice 😭

Spaghetti with beef and sauce is the best
Mre video?
I see why people stay in the Airforce.
Where was your your roommate part of the bedroom?
Her side of the room was a mess. Wouldn’t wanna see that
Did she say PATIO'S?

So you get your own room basically?
Sort of. It’s a huge difference when you get to operational. That’s your own room
Damn jailhouse is down bad 😐
This is firehouse female dorm
I know jailhouse is horrible compared to this the AC never even works
Momma to a future air woman, why do y'all keep MRE rations under your beds? No kitchen in the dorms, so you take all meals in the mess hall?
So you know it’s yours and people don’t take it. Especially when going to camp bullis. There’s no kitchen only a microwave please down stairs
