Global Warming Is Accelerating

Recent increases in the long-term global warming trend line slope provide convincing evidence that the rate of global warming is accelerating significantly. While the recent strong el nino southern oscillation event has contributed to the acceleration of global warming, it is insufficient to explain the entire acceleration. Several positive feedback effects in the global climate system appear to be contributing to this acceleration of global warming.
We appear to be entering a new and dangerous phase of global climate change.

I hope that cooler heads will prevail and that we move away from fossil fuels. Another great video! Thank you!

Did you have a question about that part of the video?

I've wondered why people don't make the connection between the idea that we are reaching Peak Oil within the next 50 or so years and the obvious trend in Global Warming since the mid Eighteen Hundreds when the Industrial Revolution essentially started...
What I mean by that is that it took the planet several hundreds of millions of years to produce the petroleum and we will, essentially, have used it all up within 250 to 300 years....
This aligns perfectly with the Industrial Revolution as well as population growth and the constant rise in fossil fuel usage being the PRIMARY contributors to The Greenhouse Effect...
For all intent and purpose, we will have taken everything from the ground and pumped it into the air....
If that isn't the most obvious indicator that the warming is MAN MADE, I don't know what is.... This is so ridiculously obvious....
What it shows me is how powerful the Oil Lobbyists are and how gullible the Climate Change Deniers are....
They love their SUV's SO MUCH, that they're willing to accept the weak argument suggesting that this drastic level of Warming is just "NORMAL"....
Looks like we will just have to let it all crash and burn in order to learn the lesson.
All that done and said, I'm NOT saying that the "Green" plans we have are going to help in the least....
Both Solar and Wind have huge problems... (Mainly the inability to recycle as well as inefficient power storage systems.)
And then there's the giant elephant in the room when looking at Electric Vehicles. (Inefficient Batteries, huge pollution caused by Battery disposal and COAL as being the primary source to charge the Batteries....)
Finally, you have the suppression of technologies that could have been Game Changers like the 20% efficiency Solar Panel that was made around the mid Eighties. Had we really invested more heavily in them, we could potentially be near 60% plus efficiency by now.... But sadly, after nearly 40 years, we're still averaging about 20% on Panels.....
You also have Stan Meyer and his Dune buggy that ran on water... (Running on Hydrogen created by Electrolysis....) (Of course, all a "Conspiracy Theory"...)
There are plenty of other Game Changing technologies that have been shelved all in the name of "More Profit"....
It's sad to say, but I've lost a lot of hope in humanity as I get older...
Where's that good ole Asteroid when you need it?
Perhaps it's time for a Reset....

Devil's Advocate: Can you really measure acceleration over such a short period? In your first graph, overlying the linear trend I saw what looked like a 50-year cycle. Isn't there a 50-year cycle of transfer of heat from the tropics to the poles? In any case, unless there is continuous positive feedback from ice loss or increasing wildfires the acceleration will be only a step change.

Thanks for your comment. From the analysis of the empirical data that I presented, it's quite clear that global warming has been increasing - owing to a number of factors, which I enumerated. It remains an open question whether or not the acceleration will continue, or whether it will level off as you propose. Time will tell.
