Prayer is not prayer until there is a dialogue between God n yrself. Prayer really works

An interesting time to hear this sermon, haha. I’m nigh on 19 and have struggled with pornography since I was a wee lad, seven years old. I have been trying everything from internet accountability to asking of peoples’ assistance in my life. However, none of it has worked. Oftentimes, even, I have found myself struggling more after time with God. I would read my Bible and study it, jotting down notes and trying to analyze and understand the implications of the passage and it’s adjacent scriptures, then that night I would relapse once again. 12 years is a long time. I’ve heard so many people say that one day they chose to love God more than porn, then just moved on. I’ve friends who found a girlfriend and grew closer to her and God whilst quickly refraining from the prior struggle. It has always made me feel something. I wouldn’t call it jealousy or coveting, for I’m glad they’ve received it. However, James says that faith without works is dead. Everyone else’s works prove their faith, in their conquering of the world’s most deceptive drug, while I sit and revert repeatedly. It’s a struggle. I had been bawling on the floor, violently grasping for a word from God. This wasn’t me asking for a sermon or a Bible verse and wishing it’s speech upon myself, no. This was a full request to audibly hear the vocal presence of God, who could heal me. Seeing as I’ve not gotten better in years, I had been crying harder than ever. Laying prostrate before God, I yelled out what I had been going through. This isn’t to say I never speak to God like a friend or that I only ever request His assistance, but this honestly just somewhat helped a lot. Yes, I’m still waiting on an answer. I’m still waiting to be healed of this addiction, for I am no true believer if I continue to delve into it repeatedly. Yet, this put into perspective that I might be asking for too much? That this may be less faithful than simply sitting and talking to God? I suppose that’s how it goes, and I’m doing my best, and that prayer and reaching out to God on the floor of an empty house did help relieve myself of doubt, but it simply reminded me that I need to talk to Him more to hear Him talk to me more. I suppose I may ask for anyone who reads this to be praying over me freedom and love, prying away the clutches of the spirit of addiction and sexuality that my body has thrust itself into time and time again. I suppose that’s all I really have to say.

Hey, brother! 20 year old here, I had that problem from 11, until a few months ago. Go seek prayer, go be honest with God, and genuinely ask for help. Until you believe you will be healed, until you seek the Lord fully, you will not be healed.

Also, considering your willingness to explain all that you are dealing with, I would imagine the Holy Spirit is working in you.

Many people say the Thief on the Cross next to Jesus was not Baptized in water in Jesus Name yet Jesus told him he would be with Him that day in Paradise. When the thief was on the cross (Matthew 27:38, Luke 23:39, Mark 15:27-43) Jesus had not yet given the COMMANDMENT to be baptized in his NAME. Jesus said in Mark 16:16, "He that believes and is BAPTIZED shall be Saved, he that believes not shall be damned." At about that same time He said in Matthew 28:19, "Go therefore go and teach all nations BAPTIZING them in the name (SINGULAR name and not names) OF the Father, and OF the Son, and OF the Holy Ghost." Father, Son, and Holy Ghost are titles and not names. Jesus disciples never used those words when they baptized anyone in water, nor did they use those words in one sentence regarding any other topic. Every time Jesus disciples baptized any one in water they invoked Jesus Name at baptism which is Acts 2:38, Acts 8:14-18, Acts 8:38, Acts 9:18, Acts 10:44-48, Acts 16:15, Acts 16:33, Acts 18:7, Acts 18:8, Acts 22:16 Paul's Baptism).
Jesus did not give the COMMANDMENT to be baptized in his Name until later after he rose from the dead and just before he ascended into heaven. The thief or anyone else at that time could not have been baptized in Jesus Name because they did not know about it.
If you are convinced you need to get Baptized in water in Jesus Name, do a search, type in "United Pentecostal Church International", slightly scroll down to just below the red box, type in your zip code, then a screen will show a Church near you that will do that.
