I am also in the market for a mini skid steer, and I was considering looking into purchasing one from China. Seeing your post has been very helpful, and I am looking forward to seeing all of the attachments in use. I like the price difference, some of the US made units are quite expensive. I live on an acre, and I just retired. I am not in the Construction or Landscaping business. I have a lot of projects around my property that I would like to tackle. Because of this, I can't justify spending upwards of $50,000.00 dollars on a piece of equipment that I may only use a few times a year. @@OurLifeInTrees Were you able to get the unit and attachments off of the trailers by yourself? My girlfriend thinks that I will need to go to Home Depot for some additional help? LOL I live in Northern California. I reached out to Derette, they can ship to the Bay Area. I will be picking up my unit and attachments from the port of Oakland in Oakland Ca. @@OurLifeInTrees We spoke...he gave me a tour just as I saw on one of your videos tonight. At first I thought it was a recording of my video tour cause my name's Greg lol
@@OurLifeInTrees ohh wow, nice! Hurry up and put more videos out on this thing, also really curious how the new pumps are compared to the current ones you have.
I have a couple questions. How much did each skid weigh? Is your trailer a `16' or 20'? I would like to purchase basically the same way you did. I have a 20' car hauler trailer and it looks like both those skids would fit on my trailer. I have no sides on it. My trailer can haul up to 5,650 lbs. I am sure my trailer could handle both skids as far as size is concerned but not sure about the weight. I would also have to find a place that would unload and load it for me. I don't know anyone who owns a company with a fork lift.
The skid crate was about 3,100lbs. The attachments were about 1,800lbs. Your trailer should be fine. Both of mine have rails on the side and could only be loaded from the rear. I didn’t know anyone with a forklift either but found a local forklift sales and service company who was willing to load it for me. I paid them an hour of labor and it was easy!!
I did the DDP shipping. It was easy and painless, sides waiting a few weeks. Sigh. The price is different everywhere, but my crates are a little over $2k each to ship to me.
Sure. I bought this from Dean at Derette. The machine was about $8500 shipped to me and I also got the large bucket with teeth, 4in1 bucket, grapple, trencher, auger with 8” bit, land leveler, trailer hitch, brush cutter, and stump grinder. They cost about $8k to have shipped from China to Oklahoma. You can contact Dean through the Alibaba link in the video description or email him at dean@deretteloader.com. Be sure you tell him I sent you. Maybe I can get a deal on the next machine! lol.
I don't blame you one bit, you just unloaded $80K of equipment had it been made in the US. Quality comparison is a whole different subject. I have a Cat standard skid I use around my property. I was looking at China stuff but just can't get past the notion of money going into China, even though half of our goods are made there. I have friends working at John Deer Iowa who have been notified both JD plants are closing and manufacturing going to Mexico. A lot of factors caused that, from union wages to government regulations and many others. I still may check out a excavator from Ali Baba however. Make a affordable excavator in the US and I'll look at. Enjoy the new equipment.
Thank you. I would never have been able to afford the US machines or attachments. My whole setup cost less than a stump grinder, brush cutter, grapple and auger alone!! Yeah, I have the same concerns but also, I buy at Walmart and Amazon, so I’m buying Chinese products anyway. The John Deere situation is sad. I read that 1/2 of them worked on combines and the agricultural sector has really taken a dip in recent years. Never want to see Americas laid off, but it’s an internet world now and companies need to try and stay competitive… which is nearly impossible these days. Sigh.
How smooth are the controls compared to your mini ex? My chinese mini ex the controls are very jerky, hard to get smooth movements, are the controls the same on the skid?
@@OurLifeInTrees okay, I was using my mini ex today for a few hours and man it is quite annoying how hard it is to make small/slow movements without a lot jerkiness, regardless of where you set the throttle. Wonder what difference the danfoss pumps make, not sure that has anything to do with it, probably all the valves that determines that maybe.
I just asked this question and they sent me a video that shows where the engine has a positive lug on the started which is accessible from the rear and where a good ground location is. Man, the customer service from them is impressive.
Why would I? I didn’t buy an auction machine. I had videos of it being built, being tested, showed me a final video of it completed, and even videos of it being crated. I checked it later and it’s all fine. It’s still fine. Exactly what he told me he was shipping me. I knew my engine serial number 2 months before I received it. No surprises.
I had a video of it running and being tested from a few weeks earlier. I knew it was good. They kept me up to date on the whole build process. This isn’t like the auction units.
The V1000 costs $3k more, weighs 1000lbs more, costs more to ship with the extra weight, and is 20” longer. The big ones are the weight and cost. My trailer is a tandem 3500lb axle. 7000 - 2300lb trailer - 3500lb V1000 - 2200lb mini excavator … over weight. Then I need a bigger trailer, and a bigger truck. Sigh….
Lifting the arms to work on the hydraulics under the hood is dangerous, did they give you arm fall lockout bar? Exhaust by gas tank? Should have been on the other side.
Yes I now have and use the lockout bar. The exhaust there is 100 times better than the location of the gas tank on most mini excavators and skid steers. It probably would have been better to change it, yet I don’t think it really matters big picture.
Can you give me the manufacturers contact info? I have been trying to find one that isn't a scam also. I am looking at getting the whole set up like you have

@@morrisster shipped to me in Oklahoma the machine was around $8500. With all the attachments I bought it added another $8000 shipped to me. Two separate crates. All in around $17k because I went crazy on attachments.
Way to support myself. In America we can’t produce anything even remotely close to the price of this. This was cheaper than some zero turn mowers I have been looking at and it was cheaper than most American made attachments. Witt that stance, I would recommend to never buy from places like Amazon, Walmart, any big box store, and never Harbor Freight. @@OurLifeInTrees We spoke...he gave me a tour just as I saw on one of your videos tonight.
At first I thought it was a recording of my video tour cause my name's Greg lol
Hahah. Hi Greg, I’m Greg. Nice to meet you! lol.
Will you share what the cost was all in? Looks like a nice set up!
I will make a future video with details. I paid around $8500 shipped to me and another $8k for all the attachments shipped.
Have you done any testing on the lifting capacity with the forks?
I haven’t yet, I plan to coming up soon. A have a friend who is doing a project with bags of concrete I may be able to test it with.
Does yours have Danfoss pumps? I purchased one and it included danfoss pumps, Dean said it was an upgrade to the standard Chinese made ones.
It will in a week. lol. He is sending me Danfoss pumps now.
@@OurLifeInTrees ohh wow, nice! Hurry up and put more videos out on this thing, also really curious how the new pumps are compared to the current ones you have.
lol. I am curious as well.
I been waiting for this video I love you man
Ha thanks! I appreciate it.
Do a financials video. What does it cost?
That’s the plan. All in shipped to me in Oklahoma under $18k.
Just curious how much it cost you to get your machine shipped to you and did you do ddp or fob ?
I did the DDP shipping. It was easy and painless, sides waiting a few weeks. Sigh. The price is different everywhere, but my crates are a little over $2k each to ship to me.
I have friend I'm importing 1 for! How much was the tarrif? I import lots of things but not one of those yet
I paid about $2200 DDP shipping. Everything was included in that price to get it here to Oklahoma.
Well I guess I missed it on the video how much of that little booger cost with all those toys
All in shipped to me in Oklahoma it was around $17k. The machine was $8500 of it.
If I could design and build my own it would look like that.
That’s what I said!
What about replacement tracks?
I know the sell them but haven’t researched it yet as I have not had a need.
how much was your machine and all of the attachments along with shipping costs and any taxes?
The machine was about $8500 shipped to Oklahoma and the attachments were another around $8k shipped to me.
@@OurLifeInTreesWhat is the model of the machine looking into getting that exact one?
@@ericgil151This is a Derette DRT450 with the Honda GX690 engine.
Just message Dean with Derette and he can go through all the stuff.
@@OurLifeInTrees Thanks!
I’m looking to get one like you, can you share the contact/ supplier how much did it cost? Thanks Carl
Maybe I can get a deal on the next machine! lol.
Great, but how much?
Including shipping and tax it was about $9k.
For everything? Including attachments?
@@brianrizzi6321No just the machine. The attachments were another $8k shipped. Under $6k plus shipping and crating.
did u check the oil before u started it
Yes. It looks great. Dean sent me a video of driving it and testing it before he crated it for me as well.
Haven’t seen where you tell us what the cost was. Shopping from China had to be $$$$
The machines was about $8500 shipped to me in Oklahoma and the attachments were another $8k shipped to me.
Shipping was just over $2k
Sigh.
What was your all in cost? I want the same st up.
About $8500 shipped to me in Oklahoma for the machine. And another $8k in all 8 attachments
How smooth are the controls compared to your mini ex? My chinese mini ex the controls are very jerky, hard to get smooth movements, are the controls the same on the skid?
It’s much better than the mini excavator. A lot easier to use and not jerky really at all.
@@ShuhDonk I don’t know the technical reasons, I just know it’s better. I sure like the skid better than the excavator.
@@OurLifeInTrees Any new videos coming out soon on it?
Just uploaded a factory tour today. More to come. I try and do every Saturday upload.
Check for oil first?
It’s not an auction machine, I saw the build and had videos of them assembling, testing, crating and demonstrating it for me.
So if you have to lift the boom to open the hood, what happens if you have a dead battery?
That is a great question and I don’t have an answer for you. I need to ask and find out.
To be continued….
I just asked this question and they sent me a video that shows where the engine has a positive lug on the started which is accessible from the rear and where a good ground location is.
Man, the customer service from them is impressive.
Is the Honda engine better than the Kubota engine?
I would say the Kubota is better. I didn’t have an option for the Kubota in this machine, that usually is found in the larger machines like the V1000.
Who did you order it from? Dean? This may be an obvious question.
Yup Dean Sun and he was awesome.
is that 3 pump or 2 and a return?
It’s a 3 pump machine
Didn’t check the oil?
Didn’t check the hydraulic fluid?
Didn’t check the fuel?
Why would I? I didn’t buy an auction machine. I had videos of it being built, being tested, showed me a final video of it completed, and even videos of it being crated. I checked it later and it’s all fine. It’s still fine. Exactly what he told me he was shipping me. I knew my engine serial number 2 months before I received it. No surprises.
not a bad machine it looks like yea it's from china but hey when doing small stuff looks likeit would get it done
Yeah. So far, it’s awesome.
Congratulations
$ as is where is when you received it.
It was about $9k all in shipped to my door with tax.
@@OurLifeInTrees Ok thank you.....Im thinking of getting one.
Dean from Derette is where I bought mine. Here is a link if that helps. You can message him from this listing
x.alibaba.com/Ax2ASP?ck=pdp
I think I would have checked the oil before cranking it up.
I had a video of it running and being tested from a few weeks earlier. I knew it was good. They kept me up to date on the whole build process. This isn’t like the auction units.
How much does it cost
The machine was about $8500 shipped to me in Oklahoma with no attachments.
How much did you end up paying? Thanks
It was about $8500 plus the attachments were about $8k shipped to me in Oklahoma.
How much can forks lift and high?
Weight I don’t know yet. Height is about 6 feet
Почему не купили v1000?
The V1000 costs $3k more, weighs 1000lbs more, costs more to ship with the extra weight, and is 20” longer.
The big ones are the weight and cost. My trailer is a tandem 3500lb axle. 7000 - 2300lb trailer - 3500lb V1000 - 2200lb mini excavator … over weight. Then I need a bigger trailer, and a bigger truck. Sigh….
What did you pay?
The machine was about $8500 shipped to me here in Oklahoma and all the attachments were around $8k shipped.
Make your crate into TINYHOME LOL 🏠
Lol. I think I’ll make it into little garages for the attachments.
Was that a D on the fuel sticker??
Yes. It means that’s for D fuel. “Da fuel goes here.” D-fuel. lol. I wondered why as well. I make a joke about that in my next video.
What’s the cost ?

Can we talk about how much the customs fees were ?
I paid for DDP (Delivered Duty Paid) which means the seller deals with all the shipping, customs, broker, etc. from Shandong China to Oklahoma City, OK was $2200. DDP paid gets the product delivered to your door. Easy.
@@OurLifeInTrees yea I know I just seen you picked it up so you did the other route thanks for reply
Humm! No dead man switch on the feet pads.
Why would you need it? You have to be holding the joysticks to make it move.
I hope you aren't storing the attachments outside at least cover them up to protect them. Nice equipment
I have some outside. I need to build a lean to or something to put them all in because I agree, I don’t like them outside. Sigh….
Thank you.
how much for all of it out the door

No, that a whole video by itself I haven’t done yet. It’s about $8500 shipped to me in Oklahoma plus I bought another $6k in attachments which was another $2k in shipping.

No, but much better than an American made one or buying a tractor.
Thanks!

Why? It’s not an auction unit, I have videos of them building it, testing it and even crating it. I knew it worked.
Part time
What’s part time?
If i hire a conpany they brought this junk i would have them to leave.

$8k for this or $50k for an American one. 🤷♂️
8k including implements?? What was your total shipped price for machine and implements?

I missed the cost of everything
I haven’t created a cost breakdown video. I’ve been too excited to play with my new toy. lol.
@@OurLifeInTrees I bet, that's awesome 👍
Way to support china bro ur awesome NOT!!!!! 👎🏻
According to the US government, “In 2021, of $506.4 billion in the U.S. imports from China, the top commodity sectors were Machinery and Mechanical Appliances (47.7% of total U.S. imports from China), Furniture, Bedding, Lamps, Toys, Games, Sport Equipment, Paint, and Other Miscellaneous Manufactured Items (13.5%), and Chemicals, Plastics, Rubber, and leather goods.”
