None of these youtubers have worked in an office. Everyone seems to think productivity is just editing videos/photos.

5:45 battery performance is pretty good? for those who don't know what that means, it means 4 hours of real world usage. lightroom? probably 3 hours. yes microsoft claims 15.5 hours, but that doesn't count the times when the thing is actually on.
I got the same model, just upgraded the SSD to 2TB (which would increase some performance), was quite easy, just a bit of waiting around for it to load the recovery drive, love this thing!
Do the thermal paste necessary to put for upgrading ssd ?? And what brand of ssd did you buy ?? Link to buy if availabla ... thanks
Excellent video! Keep them coming 👍
I just got this. Yes its perfect for me!
1. Strong enough to run productive (desktop app i need)
2 very portable with good screen size
3 looks good 😍😊
Awesome slab of machine tablet laptop of the future, I bought one pro 9 i7 and I love it. Never a moment of buyer remorse just pure perfection across the board. Wish it had a battery as cool as the 2230 SSD unit located on the back side for replacement but worthy of respect as a top shelf device. Still in AWE after 2 months 5 machines around me this one is my BABY.
I have the same specs as you. It's a dream machine. Now thinking about getting an external GPU for some high-end gaming.
O g! the quality of this content is top-notch!
Thanks great info.
How will you rate the longevity of the attached keyboard ?
Is this device good to handle the software to do active 3D digital graphics?
Where did you get the back round
Does the graphite scratch easy? Once scratched what colour is under?
1 question: can any body answer?
when you use it as a tablet, does it function as a GPS under Google Map with real-time driving guidance (just like an Android-based tablet along with driving directions given by human voice + mobile arrow on changing map)?
Hi, thanks for the right info I needed, to consider surface 9 pro as a tablet and a laptop I want. Is this good in graphic design task? If yes, I will really buy this, instead of laptop. I don't like laptop anymore...
It's perfect for work on the road type thing. Entertainment is so limited tho. But that means easier to focus on more work.
hoping we get a surface laptop studio refresh this year
I have an old surface pro that I'm looking to upgrade and this would be perfect. The cost for the keyboard and pen is $200. a little pricey but worth it.
which SP are you upgrading from? did you do the upgrade? what are your thoughts? battery life still 4 hours?
The keyboard + pen is 279 I'm pretty sure
bummed that the highest specs not available in graphite. I went to specs over color.
You need a NAS for storage.
Awesome wallpaper. How can I get it?
Would this run Premiere pro somewhat okay?
Just waiting for the SP10 to upgrade from my SP6. Hoping for more ports (bring back the USB type A), uniform thinner bezels and better battery.
there is already a surface pro x
@@polxoo376he meant the next gen Surface. Im curious how microsoft is going to go about it. If theyre going to name it SP10 despite there being the SPX or skip it and name it SP11
Same here waiting for the next SP launch, wondering now if there will be one it being November and no sign of it....? And yes a USB type A port is so useful!
i certainly hope they bring the headphone jack back.
I like it with the Intel i7 1265U CPU. 1920p display resolution, 1080p web camera resolution, 120hz refresh rate, less than 2lbs, Dolby Atomos sound refinement system, and easy integration with MS Office 365 apps. Great for traveling analysts or consultants of average height professionally. Also, great for traveling college students majoring in finance/economics, law, architecture, or design.
Only 3 major weaknesses for me: Price, uncomfortable to sit on your lap, and no headphone jack port. Fortunately, the price has dropped in the past 2 months to $1200 for 16GB of RAM version. The other issues still remain.
A cheap, simple adapter fixes or headphone jack issue. Or use Bluetooth.
Got it from Costco, amazing deal for i7, 16gb Ram and 512gb storage for 1400$. Had it for 2 weeks, however battery life was horrendous 3-5 hrs with light use. Had to return it back due to that. I believe that Microsoft 15hrs is very misleading.
If you are still alive just get the upcoming Surface pro 11 Co Pilot with snapdragon elite plus or X that has over 20 hours battery life
Hi there J, mad respect from India, here the i5 and the i7 models are separated by a whopping premium of $500, although I am not a very power hungry user, or a content creator, just a researcher....still when I do research, I can have in excess of 20 tabs open and a few excel, word and Pdfs open... I have an Xbox and hence gaming is not a need at all with this device....I still rock a MacBook Pro i5 8th Gen with Touch Bar, which seems to be failing on me anytime soon, it has gotten sluggish especially after the latest Ventura Update, I am done with Macs and I always wanted a surface for the longest time I remember.....although getting an M1 or an M2 makes a lot of sense, I am asking you honestly, If I were to switch to a Surface, would this be a good year to do so...? I am eyeing the i5 12th intel model with the keyboard and pen that costs roughly $1800....Please Advise!
I think so. It's a powerful and very capable device. Every year they are going to push an update and I am sure the next gen processors will be better but only incrementally.
i just got the surface pro 9 sold my m2 macbook air and ipad pro 12.9, overall it was a good switch but there are features i miss. The SP is not a great tablet but good enough but i needed some full apps that are not in the apple ecosystem (full excel and power bi) the main disappointment of the SP9 is the battery life i have to use mine in battery saver mode all the time to get decent use out of it when not near a plug
I tried to live with the Surface Pro 9 for two months before finally giving up and buying a proper laptop. The keyboard is the worst I’ve ever used - your palms are on a bouncy, mushy surface, and the trackpad is terrible, tiny and unresponsive. The battery lasts for about 3 hours in my typical use. The only use cases I can see for this device is: 1. An artist who absolutely needs a pen and Windows in the same machine. 2. An extremely low profile device that can be permanently mounted on a wall or other hard surface. In either case plan on keeping a mouse, external keyboard, and Microsoft’s massive power brick permanently attached. Extension cord optional. If you need a portable device that doesn’t require a around a separate keyboard, mouse, and power brick , do yourself a favor and get any modem laptop. PS - The Surface Laptop is great!
Would you take this or LG gram for my travelling laptop? Performance and light
I would take this all day long over anything else cause I mostly use it as a tablet for movies and media consumption.
Depends on your height and needs. LG Gram 16 has a more powerful CPU (Intel P series CPU) and is slim big. Better for taller people that want performance.
This is smaller and better battery life (Intel U series CPU). Better for average height that will work longer hours.
Does the Surface have the full version of apps like Powerpoint? Like is this legit a laptop in tablet form?
It's 100% Windows so yes
Yes. Full Windows 11 and full application support.
yup its why i changed, can run software dev, full office, power bi as well as SQL & SSMS
Is this powerful enough to run Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign and After Effects?
For sure!
Is this powerful enough to run engineering softwares such as Catia, solid works
The higher spec one (Core i7) is
Which one is worth it Pro 8 or Pro 9, with respect to their specs & cost ?
honestly get the pro 9 if you're going to spend that much, the pro 9 is also a lot more repairable than the pro 8.
Pro 9 > SP 8 if battery life and CPU performance matter more.
SP 8 > SP9 if you highly value a headphone jack port.
It is a good device. Its fast enough to do software development task. However, it needs to plugged inorder for you to enjoy its power. Also battery life is bad if you compare it to apple silicon. Battery life when doing standard full stack development (dotnet - angular) was around 4-6hrs compare that to macbooks it lasts around 1-2 days. Pen is nice however its not that good if you compare it to ipad pros. But if you want to do both tablet and laptop then this is the perfect choice.
what macbook last for 2 days?
@@dewhoop yap. 2 days of full day’s work (not 48hrs). Usually 8hr a day (if I dont do overtime).
@@bisarothub1644 I mean, what type of macbook? Macbook air? Or macbook pro? That have great battery like that
@@animina7886 all of them, they all run on the same chip (except for the intel based ones).
My MacBook Pro 13 doesn't last 2 days and it's pretty new. The battery lasts for about 8-9 hours doing productivity work. I've never gone past that. Apple owners always lie and exaggerate about their devices.
I kind of wonder what these are for. I’d guess most people will never use them without the keyboard, in which case you should just get the laptop. (Confusingly the top spec laptop is black)
I have an older one and use it both with and without the keyboard for work. I personally use mine without the keyboard when I have promotion design work to do. Mostly, but I also use it if I'm watching videos and in other ways too 😊
You can use it without his keyboard but with an external keyboard such as Mxkeys mini. In this way the keyboard doesn't have to be attached to the screen and you can use better keyboards
annotating and note taking i ditch the keyboard, plus when watching content
Can't you install the 1TB or even a 2TB SSD for extra memory?
Yes, you can. I found them on Amazon.
You can
Love my surface pro 9
How's the battery for moderate use?
Bump. Looking to get one for normal office 365 work, emails, etc. I’m in sales. What is battery life like for this type of work? And I assume the i5 16gb is plenty for what I need?
@@Victor_Mgt Usually 6 hours for intense use. 10 to 11 hours for light use.
@@akin242002 OK thanks, any news on surface pro 10?
@@Victor_Mgt No news yet. I was looking forward to the spec improvements, but MS keeps pushing back.
SF pro 9 very good now
Surface Pro : Is it good for POWER BI Desktop and other washboarding + coding + visual studio ? What's your thoughts ? TIA from Dubai
It should be able to handle that easily.
yes it is, this is exactly my use case and why i just changed from mac ecosystem which wasnt an easy choice
Time stamps would be appreciated
It’s annoying the sapphire & graphite aren’t available with the 1TB options, Microsoft lagging 🤦🏽♂️
yes, period
Why store data in one place/ device? It is dangerous to do so when the device crashes and we might lose all our data! Always store them externally as much as you can as I would advise anyone.
What is that mouse?
It’s the Microsoft Arc Mouse.
@@jeradhilltech thankyou much love
What kind of mouse is that?
Microsoft Arc Mouse
You can replace the drive with a 1TB drive. I found one on Amazon for $99, and you can replace it yourself.
Is the battery life longer with the i7 or i5?
Same size battery with a more energy-hungry processor. I know you can do this, Einstein.
@@SaintathantwinpeaksDude, chill!
🤣
HP OMEN 17 has more. Not a tablet, but more graphics, more resolution, more cores, and supports more memory, more storage, more Work. The HP OMEN 17 is built as a gaming laptop, but it's a true workstation replacement, ample audio / video / graphics editing all in one portable box. Oh, and it does gaming too. The only down sides would be the heat output of the RTX 4070 and intel i7-13700HX 16 cores, 24 threads, and lack of touch screen on it's amazing 17.3" diagonal, QHD (2560 x 1440), 165 Hz 100% sRGB screen. So for quick edits on the road or in the field, Surface Pro is great. But once you take your stuff back to the Studio, the HP Omen 17 wins the game! :-)
Tab S9 ultra with splashtop rdp for the win. Lol.
which is the battery of a normal office day?
I easily get an entire day out of this device doing normal work tasks.
Pro 9 i5 / 16gb version - 2 x 1h teams calls, outlook, excel, word, pdf reader, edge with 10 - 15 tabs, citrix, some other apps here and there, all running at the same time on 50% brightness will get you down to 20% battery in 4.5 - 5h
@@beaversgotem7939 Teams drains battery a lot.....Microsoft should fit it ASAP 😢
I just bought SP9 (8GB RAM) will it slow down if I use Chrome + Figma or Adobe XD?
@@Bett3rIf you bought it then surely you should just test it?
What I absolutely hate is the keyboard isn’t backlit
that would annoy me too. my SP7 touch keyboard is backlit and this SP9 keyboard isn't?
I would never choose color over performance, but each to his own...
Hard to take you serious when the color of the case is the most important feature
In all fairness, it is. There’s a reason professionals avoid gaming devices with RGB or goofy colors like the old iPhone 5c. Darker colors sell better for a reason. Specs should be universal, regardless of the color.
The colour is the single biggest reason that annoys the hell out of everyone. What kind of dumb marketing decision was it to not offer the max specs in both colours
Colour over spec??? Colour gives you nothing, but top specs do!! No brainer for me
not with windows 11
Man speaks like ChatGpt
These Surface devices to me have always been overpriced for the spec compared to laptops. Yes, its small and light weight but still doesn't seem worth it to me, as laptops are small and light enough now.
as a laptop for sure, but it genuinely doubles as a tablet. although compromised with bad battery life.
you bought it for the color, your opinion is worthless
what is the best car to buy? a green one?
Are you nuts? You favour colour over specifications?
Over and out.
It cost too damn much. It's stupid. Not even a 10-bit screen.
Main reason why I never bought a Surface Pro - battery life is terrible. If the Snapdragon Surfaces release with 10 hours of real usage that will be my next computer.
Please say this device less, like literally I went insane less than 5 mins in because you said this device like 20 times.
Yep, it even started to feel uncomfortable to me. Some videos I’m on it and some I’m not.
Hahahahahahaha.... MicroSoft has never made a tablet and will continue not to.
Dont buy battery life is very bad
Don't true, I get 13 hours out of this
@@JordanMorter haha maybe if u set brightness on 0
@@JordanMorter how? i have the surface pro 8 with i7 and 16 gb of ram.i cant arrive more than 5 hours
@@faresnimer5164 Intel chips are more powerful than the sq3 ARM chip and use more power hense it drains battery quicker. I get on average 11-13 hours per charge at the office.
@MrDankec No.. the sq3 chip is less powerful than that of the i5 and i7 and with that it's more efficient with power.
