Unlikely... More likely the heat and toxic smoke would have had you crawling out the door. Useful to note, a domestic fire extinguisher is only capable of managing small fires, think 1 square foot.

firefighting is still using same technology as the Romans did to fight fires. We need to invest more to develop non water based fire suppression that doesn't cause expensive water damages that a lot of times cause same loss of property as the fire itself.
Do you really think that science is stuck at only water solutions? Think again. All the non-water options are just 20 times more expensive and have other downsides. Automatically extinguishing with gas (is an existing fire extinguishing method) works by pushing all the oxygen out of a room. Which means you have totally zero chance of survival. Fire needs fuel, heat and oxygen: The water fire fighting methods suppresses the heat aspect. The gas fire fighting method supresses the oxygen aspect. The fuel firefighting method is buying uninflamable furniture which won’t look too good. That’s all the science that there is about the subject. Up to you to choose something. Conclussion, back to firefighting with water (or foam) again.
@@Engineer9736 your home doesn't need to be fire proof, leather isn't fire proof but it doesn't catch as easily or burn as well as petroleum derived synthetics like polyester and nylon, a hardwood structure takes longer to collapse from fire than a softwood structure, both because the fire spreads slower and also because the hardwood stays structurally sound for longer even when the fire is at the same intensity.... Dimensional lumber is superior to engineered plywood I beams for the same reasons..... Oversized dimensional lumber is superior to "properly" sized dimensional lumber for the same reasons.... Teren Essex It is. As long as someone has not experienced a fire in their house, he is unaware and thus relaxed in their home. Get a fire in your home once and you will feel very uncomfortable how unexpected such dramatic event can happen. It’s like seeing a spider walking through your home, kill it, and while the discomfort is solved you’re still being uncomfortable if a spider maybe walking into your neck while you’re not noticing it. The learning stages of Maslow are very appliable here: en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Four_stages_of_competence . Someone who has never experienced a fire is unconcious and uncompetent. Experience a fire first time and you get consious about the danger but not competent. Get some fire fighting equipment and you’ll be consious and competent. Once you’ve used it and rescued your ass with it, you get unconciously competent about it.

No I would not exit my house, I would grab one of 4 of my fire extinguishers 1st whilst calling emergency services
Unlikely... More likely the heat and toxic smoke would have had you crawling out the door. Useful to note, a domestic fire extinguisher is only capable of managing small fires, think 1 square foot.
If you have 4 fire extinguishers around the house then that is plenty to clear out a small room.
I have worked with fire extingishers before and even 1 ABC variant is a great choice.
"It is an investment that you need, but would not want to use."
@@niccatipay while I would agree that fire extinguishers are a great investment, they are very limited and are only safe and effective in the first few seconds to perhaps a minute of a fire starting (these are rarely noticed so quickly). All of the house fires that I have been to where the occupant did not exit the house/ went back into the house to fight the fire have been fatal house fires.
@@niccatipay u have worked with fire extinguishers before, but sound like u have never worked with fire.
If you are suggesting that I am not in a proffession that directly deals with fire in a regular basis, then you are correct. I would prefer it that way.
Here before the millions.
jeremy seems to have forgot his blocking
fire sprinklers and fire alarm panels are required here in California for new home builds. all the new homes here i've seen have honeywell fire and burglar alarm panels and fire sprinkers in every room
1814 wants it's furniture back
It would also be a good idea if it alerts the fire station when the sprinklers go off so they can assess everything

RUclips recommendations: home fire sprinkler demonstration
Wow good thing i live next to a fire Department 🔥🔥
firefighting is still using same technology as the Romans did to fight fires. We need to invest more to develop non water based fire suppression that doesn't cause expensive water damages that a lot of times cause same loss of property as the fire itself.
But Water is the most effective firefighting tool. There are special techiques to fight fires with minimum water damage.
None of these materials are fire proof by any stretch of the imagination but they slow the spread of fire and are less prone to structural collapse.
Oh and those materials aren't ugly by most people's opinions but they are expensive!
dcentral I don’t think you understand how firefighting works, if you don’t put water on it will just burn down and reduce to ash
b8e71fcbe2e195c67d8d16734013d20f do you know what a flashover is? If you starve the fire of oxygen it will still smolder, right as you reintroduce it, it’ll blow up on you

Today, smoking is going to save lives.
NYRangersfan63 I was thinking of this waiting for a comment
That’s good it does it late. You don’t want your candles to let the sprinklers off.
The sprinklers actually go off once they reach a certain temperature. They're separate from the fire alarm.
42luke roblox candles don’t produce enough smoke ore heat to set off sprinklers

Alright, thank you for the information. Didn’t know the fire alarm was separate from the smoke alarm. Always thought it was the smoke the let the sprinklers off, not the heat. Thanks again...
👍🏻
If a fire like that started I’d try and put it out
It’s a demonstration dumass
@@offended9081 thank you couldn't agree more. It's just a small demonstration they put up to show what could happen. Not all fires can be put out by a couple of fire extinguishers in the house depending upon where and how they start
Isaiah's Productions 14 what if you aren’t home?
Exactly why my work truck has the sticker on it "sprinklers save lives" .
If/When I build a house for myself, a sprinkler system will go in under the mortgage. Fire is scary man.
Now i love my fire sprinkle system
if I was wake I would try find the fire with a fire extinguisher not immediately run out and call 911. if I wouldnt be able to find it or it takes to long I would run outside and call 911.
Nice to see a small town in Missouri get recognized on such a huge scale

RUclips should recommend it to people that doesn't have a fire alarm in their house
I think RUclips might be trying to me something 🤔
Google you make me wonder?
815 Comments - 1 from 2013, a few from a year ago but the other 800 from the past 48 hours. I bet this video only had 100 views last week until everyone on youtube was reccomended it this morning. Almost six years later!
WHY 2019!!!!! WHAT DID WE DO TO DESERVE THESE RECOMMENDATIONS!!!!
So now everything has water damage since sprinklers don't shut themselves off
Newer systems have a heat module that determines a shut off if heat within a room has resided to a reasonable level
9:14 train approaches and passes
American Railfan what if nobody cared?
So I can choose between fire damage or flood damage. Got it.
John Smith or dead children
Fire is much more worse. Don’t be a dumbass
I understand how bad fire is for a house but what about water damage?
10:55
I'd rather have a couple thou in water damage costs than a couple thou in medical bills or someone getting killed
Most people don't die sure to drowning in their own home, but fire will kill you.
Would you rather dry off your stuff or sweep it up The ashes of it
B_Taylor-007 its better than being dead or everything being reduced to ashes
Why should your first thought when your fire alarm goes off to immediately leave the house? Shouldn't it be to assess the situation and see if you could control whatever set the alarm off? 🤔
Cry Whit it would be boring though for the firemen
