hi Paul your story really hit home for me. I am 7 months clean of opiates and 4 months off alcohol,on the back of more than 30 years of addiction. I am from Liverpool England and I too know what it's like to try and withdraw in midwinter, f**king unbearable. Im 56 and finally decided I actually wanted to live, see my daughters married, grandchildren and perhaps regain some dignity, self respect and pride. It was Ryan's videos that motivated and inspired me. It was very brutal and in my alcohol withdrawal I thought I was dying!!! I wouldn't let them have power over me anymore and everyone that voice was in my head and it was often I told it to f**k off!! Anyway to cut a long story short keep fighting Paul life is short and is so good clean ,my life has improved a thousand fold. I make videos on here now under Recovery, Strength,Hope and Courage Tim Johnson,if you want to take a look or email me. Anyway I'm right behind you Paul keep fighting. Just hold on and Stay Strong 👆✊👊

Such a real no bs story about addiction. Paul it took 21 years for you to share your life's journey. I'm very thankful for you sharing your story. There is no doubt your story will save lives and help so many out there. We are all here for one reason or another and you my friend will wake People the F up. I hope you continue to travel the "Sober Road" and still fight like hell. Remember Paul

It gets better people trust me, and you come out a better person on the other side of this. Trust me!

This was an awesome video Ryan and funny too. Paul the length at which us addicts will go through to get our drugs is simply astounding.

Paul thank you for sharing your story, I needed to hear that tonight. I'm in Hull & on day 23 of my detox & omg I can relate about doing a rattle in a Yorkshire January, the chills are unbearable but mine have started to get better over the last week so hang on in there! I also cold turkeyed off methadone, I just reached the "I've had enough of this shit" point & did it. Get yourself to a meeting Paul, there's a good & very big recovery community in Bradford full of very loving & supportive people. Just keep at it x

Thank you Paul for sharing. I'm not sure why but some stories really hit home and yours was one of them. Its such a struggle some days to stay off but to fight through it and to know others are to helps. I spent a year in Liverpool, England and yeah I couldn't imagine going through WDs in the middle of winter either. Mind you WDs are not much fun in the middle of summer in Australia either :)But when you're having a tough day after it is so nice to be able to go for a surf is amazing. I think your story Paul kinda put it in perspective how good I really do have it. Life has its ups and downs but I do have an ok life now and to stop dwelling on stuff from the past and just let it go and move forward. Thank you for your honesty.

Thanks and good luck to you and some to me. This time its for real, thanks for everything, it could be worse like day five / its all in your head after that. I wish we all could use that energy we wasted for something real good. I am really lucky too, doing it here on east Maui and feeling blessed in small doses, I must be more stupid then you, again Mahalo for your love and Aloha to you.
