- In an effort to be able to carry more medical equipment without violating uniform policy at work I have learned some lessons about what to carry and what not to carry in an IFAK or blow out kit for police work. Check out my website: www.freefieldt...

Great follow-up to the first video. You input (as well as a few others, but primarily yours ;) ) has lead me to buy an ankle kit for work-wear. This video was among the first that I stumbled upon for your channel; thank you so much for the wisdom and logic you've imparted throughout your channel.
I highly recommend storing your TQ with the windlass strap open. Saves valuable time in an emergency. Those things are hard to open under stress.
I just finished your BuT Da ArMy And Po-LeAsE UsE DiS! video and in there you mentioned you would do a video on this and now I get a notification about this. What a coincidence. Either way, really enjoy your videos, they're what keeps me from getting bored waiting between my classes, keep them coming.
This kind of innovation is awesome, more when you can please!
I'm going to check out that pressure bandage. Very flat. That is definitely helpful. Thanks for the video!
Recently got the Ryker Nylon Gear AFAK (they're are licensed with FirstSpear). It just showed up today so I'm waiting so see how it holds up. Currently I'm a police explorer and an EMT and I wanted medical gear on me while in uniform for ride alongs but not something super obvious on my Sam Brown. Figured it was a perfect fit. Maybe another one to check out.
Just ordered the Ryker myself. Seems a lower/thinner-profile than all the others I've seen so far. Hopefully that's the case given it's price tag, as the Ryker was twice as expensive at least compared to most others I've seen.
I’ve been using the Ryker one for over a year. I like the expansion panel it comes with, lets me wrap it around the top of my boots in the winter.
Thanks for this video. I was unaware of this particular AFAK
I wear a Soft T tourniquet in mine a little power profile and no worry of the velcro rubbing. Great kit for sure!
Great overview. Suggestion, maybe a smaller lighter tourniquet like the TK4 or SWAT-T instead of the cat in the other small pocket. Seems a waste to leave it empty. A backup couldn't hurt in case of multiple injured people, including civilians, officers, or yourself. Stay safe out there.
You're lucky man, I wish my department would get us some kind of external vest. I absolutely hate keeping all of my gear on my waist, it gets so uncomfortable.
Did you try to fit the stat tourniquet into one of the pockets? (I understand you wouldn't use it there, just wondering about the fit.)
+Quoodle1 Yep, a single stat tourniquet will fit in either of the covered pouches on the Lynx ankle kit.
Thanks for another follow up on this. I ordered one and it's comfortable to wear but I haven't set it up yet. I'm thinking I may try a SWAT tq in one of the small pouches and similar items to what you showed in the larger ones. The SWAT tq shouldn't be annoying to wear there and it can also act as a pressure dressing when combined with gauze.

That little kit looks almost perfect, add chest seals and cloves and it would be a pretty good setup. Heck, I'm going to order them for each of my personal vehicles too, for $20 why not.
Chris Jones I have a swat t in one of the big pouches on my ankle rig and there's still space for a bit of gauze or flat duct tape. The other pouch has some quick clot gauze, req gauze, gloves and duct tape. The elastic pouch has another pair of gloves in it. Good comfortable kit so far after a month of wearing it.
I wish I had an outer carrier. Cali is so far behind. Maybe in 10 or 20 years, we'll start getting outerwear for basic patrol.
Be sure there are tons of bloodsuckers and blood stoppers in the car but, on my person, all I can afford to carry is Celox Rapid and a Stretch Wrap and Tuck in my front blouse pockets, and a Hyfin chest seal tucked into the cumberbund of my soft body. Yea we are authorized to carry those plastic TQ holsters but that isn't really my style (Yes, a nigga do make countless fashion statements with my duty gear and uni).
Cool product. I'll be sure to pick one up. Especially on your recommendation. I might put extra magazines in it or store larger bandages but for now, I'm still gonna keep stashing medical supplies around my uniform.
I couldn't get the stat tourniquets to stop blood flow. They have amazing customer service but until the product is improved I would avoid it. They have alot of amazing products they sell but do some testing before you carry something your life may depend on.
+Utter stat is not a replacement for a winless tourniquet. Though a strong person can self apply them, they are meant for you to apply to others in a mass casualty incident using both hands to crank them down. Because of their flexibility to be used as a pediatric or adult TK and low price they work great for this. I own several and can attest that they work as advertised.
@freefieldtraining Our department purchase new carriers this year and i have designated my AMK for casual and off duty pursuits. I like having this with me when i am out and about, cause you never know when you're going to need it.
+Ken I'm hoping to use a double cuff pouch as an IFAK as well when I get the new carrier. We shall see.
free field training I went back to 1110gear.com. I have been very happy with Rigid TQ pouch so I picked up a PTAK med pouch with the wallet. It's super small but holds what I need. I've been caring it for a week.. I'll let you know what I think
Ken I was issued one of their polymer TK pouches at work and promptly broke the tab that holds the clip on the back closed. We were told to put it in the small of our backs by a tactical swat ninja who apparently hasn't gotten in and out of a cruiser with a duty belt on in quite a while. Other people on the pd have been very pleased with them though. They seem to hold up alright as long as they are placed somewhere that they won't get rubbed all the time.
free field training I got the belt mount clip.. which I believe is blade tech. I put the safariland els in the mix which I'm very happy with. It breaks away when I get hung up in and out of the vehicle but I can move it to other applications. I like running a leg shroud when I go the the range to play

I have Band-Aids on me all the time.
Ya never know when you need it for a child or adult or the misses.
I want to be a police officer what subject i should take in grade 11 and 12...pls help me i will wait for your answer thank you..
Klever kutters suck! I have broken 4( one was metal) they are required cutting tools at my work 🙄 I just don't tell them I have a launch 4 for that.
Why is the H&H mini compressed bandage $209. Is that right?
Big Papa 254 Um, no, $6-7.00!!!
this might be a strange or just plain dumb question but maybe in that spear pocket put a pistol magazine the size looks similar to the tourniquet. but then again magazine and ammo weight might just render the idea of it useless. maybe if your conceal carrying a single stack or a 10 round capacity magazine. I don't really Know i am not a gun owner or LEO or military just interested.
Will M we have had several people tell us that they use one of the pockets for a magazine and it works and holds just fine!
I own this ankle medical pouch and it would fit almost any pistol mag in the smaller pouches. The only potential problem could be the weight. You could use this kit with medical supplies and a spare mag to balance out a pistol worn on your other ankle. I'm not a fan of ankle carry myself but I bet it would work.
i think it would be good as a complete back up magazine or buddy magazine. that being they carry the same gun and round as you
Thank You
Hey Tommy. Unrelated to this video but I need some real talk advice. I was rejected from an agency I applied to recently. Should I disclose that in future applications?
did you become a cop?
@@92ft30 I ended up getting an offer but I declined it.
Sorry for my ignorance but why would you need to conceal a medical kit?
+Benjamin Hippler uniform rules mostly.
For a concealed weapon carrier it would be a bit suspect to have a medical kit on your belt, especially if you have to wear dress clothes every day like me.
I work at a major retailer that forbids CCW on-job. In my case, I'm ordering one to carry so that if I can't defend, I can at least patch holes afterward. This will provide a great way to carry supplies in my already-crowded setup for work, without raising eyebrows.
"need to conceal" Probably nothing to do with concealment, but with common sense. Men don't usually carry a hand bag all day. Where else would YOU carry a medical kit?
CorkKNIFE probably not on my ankle😀 but I usually carry a bag with me when out for work and in the car when not for work.
Good video man where is the tq
He carries it on his belt I believe.
i've been seeing some unmarked suv's w/ gummint plates at the park and ride i commute by train from. one day 2 of them were pulled up next to each other driver side to driver side, so i slowly walked up between the trucks (with my hands to my sides, with fingers spread apart) and thanked them for their service, and for being there that day. a neighbor had his car stolen from there and totalled a few months ago, and i told them that.
this is another example: cops buy (at their own expense) and use this first aid gear for anyone they encounter who needs it. this really ought to be a public expense, but cops do this anyway.
and then we have all this "fuck the cops" bullshit, and police protesters. i really do not understand the thinking at all.
Don't go up to unmarked police vehicles. They're riding in unmarked vehicles for a reason. Common sense people.
There out of stock, gay! 😞
Dan Baudelio They will be back in stock next week.
