Mixing 30 and 40 do nothing, you could have just used one or the other. Now if you wanted a 30 and happened to have already had 40 and 20 at home you could mix the 2 to get 30. 20vol and time is key here. 30 and 40 are for doing highlights or you don't have time in a salon environment to wait that long due to time constraints. When it comes to bleaching it's low and slow. At 20 volume you can leave it on to process longer and get past that brass stage and keep the integrity of your hair. It also has ro be lightened enough past the brass for the toner to work properly. Icy/platinum white/blonde is cool not warm. And if a toner hasn't worked after 20 minutes it's not going to do anything, you can also bleach too much, too fast blowing your cuticle so open it absorbs too much of the toner. You should also invest in an addictive such as olaplex or find a professional to purchase some K18 from. I'm licensed, not a RUclipsr or kitchentician. This isn't good for your hair or scalp and can also cause you to develop contact dermatitis.
Thank you for your input and sharing your knowledge . I appreciate the tips, but l'd like to clarify that l've never claimed to be a professional hair stylist. As a licensed esthetician, my expertise lies in skincare, which is why I added a disclaimer stating that this was just me sharing my personal experience with bleaching my own hair. I always encourage viewers to do what works best for them or consult a professional if they're unsure. Rest assured, I've taken steps to protect and care for my hair since then and didn’t experience damage. I'll definitely keep your advice in mind, but the goal here was simply to share my process. Thanks again for watching .
