True. If we had such a therapist, we all would have been much better, we would have recovered better. I read on the internet that if patients start physio right after the stroke, they recover either completely , or almost completely. The first 3 days after the stroke are the most important in order to escape having damages , and becoming disabled.Almost in all hospitals they start psysio after 3 days. Why? Is it possible that the doctors and specialists do not know yet, or it is by design.? Good question.
That was great. That is exactly what needed. I have an inverted really bad. I am 9 years post stroke next month and I have never been shown or taught anything of that. Thank you for all you do. I am ordering a foot night brace right now!!

Hello Sir thank you so much for the tips, i am recovering from spinal cord injuries. I have a lot of spasm while exercising, what should i do to reduce them?
Thank you for sharing this video it can help me with my spasticity according to my rehab doctor i have much spasticity with my affected limbs which is my left side i will add these exercises while I'm on the parallel bars

Hi Nathan! New subscriber here. I have a 12 yr old daughter with celebral palsy. She can walk from 6 yrs old and as years passed, her left foot (the weak one) was turning inward and mostly putting her weight only on the outer side of her left foot when walking. CAN she used this exercise to correct her inward foot? I will appreciate any advise you can give. Thank you po in advance.
This was awesome I had stroke this past May and I'm home doing recovery with my mom help I get up every morning and walk for at least 30 min. This was very helpful thank you
From stroke? The fastest recovery you see with consistency is within 6 months. But it does not mean you wont see any improvements after that. But if you put it the time to practice the movements, you will continue to recover
Can you explain difference in foot & spasticity? R LL turned completely outward . Add an exercise or 2 to help reverse this and prevent this from happening to LLL. I suffer from DISH as well. 5 weeks /5 visits of PT & OT reverts back when therapy stops. The same for L hand, wrist & elbow. with, contractures, spasticity and hypersensitivity to touch that is painful.. So a book, website etc. would be appreciated since I am catastrophically disabled.
This might not ne the video for you. The surgery affected the nerve that makes your foot to go up or dorsiflex. Please see your doctor and have it checked. For the mean time. Assist your foot in moving it up passively
Please can you show some ways to get a knee that is I guess contracted and wiil not extend after a stroke, and the leg and foot is spastic to where the hip is getting better, but the knee will not go further than-40 degrees, and the tendons are so tight. Also how to release and relax tendons
My problem is an inability to raise myself onto the toes of my affected foot without assistance of a chair or my unaffected foot. Yet I can do so on my unaffected foot without assistance. Consequently, my walking is difficult without a cane.
Does this fix it for ever ? My doctor is telling me that I need to do surgeries to fix it ! And I am hesitated , I am Multipole sclerosis patient and suffering from the same issue
If it is done daily, yes. But if the leg us super tight and there is no therapy done, consitently, surgery might be the only option. But after the surgery, therapy is again needed otherwise it could happen again
Good evening,,my son is 5 years old ,,his one foot is first drop foot ,,then moved inward,,he has short tenden,,advice some exercises nd AFO for him,,I wll be very thankful to u

I got spasticity for almost 3 years, due to road accident, it affects all of my movements. can you tell me what I should do to it make a little bit better
Where are you located? I have had a fusion surgery in 2020 which left me with very limited mobility I had physical therapy for about a year then a decompression in September of 2022 which left me worse off than the fusion. I can’t get upstairs anymore with out assistance. My legs are weak but the therapist only want to work my upper body. Can you give me some advice? I’ve started doing your exercises and the MS Foundation even though I don’t have MS. How could I go from walking and navigating stairs before surgery to being almost immobile?
@@SKILLSANDWELLNESS I might have that due to my brain injury. well I'm doing some few therapis right now, although I'm getting some results, there are times that I still having trouble at walking due to leg ang foot

7:51pm Wednesday, March 9, 2023 You are absolutely one of the best occupational therapist on RUclips. When you do outpatient or home physical therapy, the therapist doesn’t truly assess your mobility ailments they just stay to their script of spinal injury/back surgery basic exercises and strengthening your core and your limbs that need attention get neglected. I’m so grateful I found your channel. I’ve had fusion surgery and decompression surgery on my back and a solid two years of physical therapy with no improvement. I’m actually worse off now than before the two surgeries. Keep helping those like me because we deserve to get back to normalcy. Thank you 😊

I had this problem before, I am much better now. I lie at the edge of the bed, leaving the problem leg outside the bed and let gravity drop it down, then try to swing the leg. (if you still cannot bend the leg in this position, I think you need tie a belt around the ankle of the problem leg, the pull the leg down, just to get it going. ) it is hard at the beginning, but it will get easier when you do it more.
