Bob Jenny, this is my local site and visit it often. This year the club are spending 3.5 Million on it to put in new toilets, ferry pitches and fully serviced hard standing pitches, so watch this space. Nick T.

Very nice to see all of that green space as it's getting to be very dry here in British Columbia and mostly brown grass...a fire hazard.

I very much enjoy the journey to the sites. So much is missed when driving oneself and watching your videos is like being a passenger and being able to look at the views going along. The site looks very spacious which is nice, but I don't much like the dated unisex facilities. Perhaps I'm a bit old fashioned but I do like separate loo's and showers.

    Bob,
I have stayed a few times at this site to catch a ferry or break journey. Lunch at Rick Steins and Rive& Cottage (now history I understand) was very pleasant. We parked at pitch 26/27 on the perimeter one time . We were a bit puzzled by the noise in the morning a bit like rain drops. Turns out this was cherry ripening day. The birds eat flesh and dropped the stones on the van and car. At the the end of the day both vehicles looked like a raspberry ripple with
excercia . Lucky I had my caravan washing brush otherwise would not been able to see my way out. The top field shower block I was told was be a mortuary - I always use my own facilities .
    Keep up the good work

We’ve been on this site twice, in 2018 we used it to break our journey from West Yorkshire on route to the Black Knowl and then decided to stay for four nights in August 2020 on our way to Southlands on the Isle of Wight mainly so we could visit Winchester, we also went to Mottisfont and Alton which is a lovely little town and worth a visit. I agree that the facilities are dated but we didn’t use them anyway but the site is nice. We used the very bottom area in the lower section which we found to be very quiet and no bird disturbance that I remember. It reminds me of Tewkesbury before it was refusbihied recently, maybe it’s the same issue a short lease making it not worth while financially for the club to update. It’s a shame because it could be a really nice site and it’s in a good area.

Great vlog guys. We have been watching all the videos from this tour, but as usual we are hopeless at commenting! We stayed at Morn Hill last summer in the hottest week as I was working at my Southampton office and Vicky worked from the motorhome on site. We stayed in the bottom part which was quieter than the top part but the facilities were the worse we’ve ever experienced, floor constantly soaking wet, no flyscreens on the windows so the toilets were full of every type of bug known to man, awful. That motorhome service point is useless too 🤣 really enjoyed your tour!

Thanks for the review of the site - I'm booked to stay one night to break my trip to Corfe Castle in 5 weeks. I'd Read reviews that said the access from the A31 was a problem but I think I'm better armed for that one now. As I'm going to be arriving late afternoon and nly staying one night I think I'll just take the first available pitch as I'm planning on just winding down the steadies and plugging in the electric. Want to be able to hitch up and go next morning.

Or did I dream about it maybe. Looks like you visited in Summer so we wonder if the grass pitches may be a bit damp in winter. Love the upside down sign LOL. Trev

Hi Bob and Jenny, oh and Poppy. We love your vlogs and never miss one if we can help it. I have a question for Jenny please, if that’s not sexist. We are away for 18 days shortly and am considering using the laundry facilities. Can you tell me do all sites that have laundries also have an iron you can use? I noticed one in your vlog the other day and can’t say I’ve noticed It before. This will effect what clothes we pack. Thank you Sally & Will & PRU 🙋🏼‍♀️🙋🏻‍♂️🐶.

    • @BobEarnshawMoHo

We can't answer because we don't do any ironing, so we don't always notice! I suspect that irons may have been removed since the pandemic.

Hi Bob, very unusual to see such a poor standard at a caravan & motorhome site, I think I will give this one a miss for now. I read a review the other day for Bladon Chains which was not very good, as it seems the site is closing in the autumn and no money is being spent on it, when things go wrong they don't get repaired. It will be good to hear what you think of the site.

I here the Sat Nav has had a sex change, i thought Poppy did not like to Woof instead she prefers to Bark. It looks a fairly nice site a bit odd its in 2 halves but that reminds me of a big private site that was near puddle town north of weymouth. The Touring half of the site was on one side of the road, there was a tunnel under the main road and the other half of the site was reception the static caravans the clubhouse and shop. I remember we went there one year we went there in a touring caravan a long long time ago we did not tell anybody where we were going we only told family members no friends we had been there for a day and i was going to go where the tunnel was to the other half of the site with a member of my family i looked to one of the caravans to the right and i could not believe what i saw, a family who we new fairly well that lived in a different road from us but about 30 to 40 yards from where we lived was there i was totally supprised and so were they. Going back to the site you were on in this video that sign you said was upside down it says on it Arrivals from 6pm to 8pm so it must be for late arrivals and they just spin the sign around.
