Thank you for going slow. There are too many videos that fly through everything and aren’t very thorough. This is exactly what I was looking for to make some low poly designs.

Thanks for the tutorial! Very useful. I am a total noob, but I had a different experience at the end (I am on Windows using free license btw):
    1. I could not delete individual triangles, but I could delete many at once (sometimes with strange results).
    2. Even when I deleted multiple triangles, the bottom area of the figure was not parallel to the plane, so the figure would not be straight once printed. To solve this, I created a rectangle on sketch, then extruded vertically to intersect it with the botttom of the figure, and used the cut option to remove material from the base of the original figure. The result was a perfectly flat bottom and a straight figure. Another way to solve the problem!

Hi, Julian. Thanks for sharing! That is definitely another great approach to making the bottom flat :)

Easy to follow if you watched "Fusion 360 in 30 days playlist" because some things are put in different spot.
Convert mesh to body is done with Mesh -> Modify -> Convert Mesh.
I started adding comments to the files so I have quick reminder what to do when I need this next time.

Insightful as always. Thanks for replying to the low-poly requests with such an awesome tutorial.

    Cool!
You can also get a nice effect using the edges of the low poly design to create a pipe in the form environment =D
Try lowering accelerations and jerk. that might help with the ringing ;)

Being optimistic, mostly, I keep the hope that Autodesk will bring back Meshmixer and integrate it into Fusion 360. Yeah, I'm being overly optimistic, more accurately a fantasy.

Hi, I’m super new to fusion 360 and your tutorials are great! But for some reason I can’t seem to be able to select part of the body, am I doing something wrong?

    • @MrSato-tb8fx

Under the SELECT, drop down menu and check "MESH PALETTE"

Hello! how are you only selecting a portion of the body? every time i try selecting a portion of the print that I'm doing, it automatically selects the entire mesh body. Thank you!

The only problem with creating meshes in other mesh editing programs like Blender and Maya is there is no reference to real world scale/units unless you modify certain settings to account for this.

Hello, if designing for models eg N or OO gauge railway, is it best to model full size and scale before 3D printing or better to scale in Fusion and print 1:1 ? Liking the tutorials it has made what seemed impossible achievable !

ive tried 7 other .stl files. why is it that your suggested fox file seems to be the only one that works with this method...wth

    • @ProductDesignOnline
      @ProductDesignOnline  4 года назад

The workflow should work with any files as long as it doesn't have 80K+ facets. Even then, you can slice it up and convert it in section. What type of file are you trying?
