I watched this about 5 years ago, kind of put off by BD's spinning prayer wheel and seemingly "distracted" approach. Now just watching again I see he is extremely clear and Lucid, inspiring and full of true devotion. So crazy that we only see through a filter of our ego. Jai Ma!!

Thank you for this interview. Bhagavan Das is very intense and the strength he exudes is captivating if not a little intimidating in a good way. It seems he would rather be in a constant state of meditation then doing interviews, but his intention and conviction are truly inspiring.

for real spiritual seekers, watch the whole thing, but if you watch from 7:20 to about 16 minutes you will hear a condensed, profound explanation of the spiritual path. May all beings benefit. The outer Guru helps us find the inner Guru.

well, In the Bhagavad Gita we learn that the three gateways to hell are: lust, anger and greed. When we express anger we fall from spiritual grace. There was a saint who once said: "When the Ego step in, God step out and when God Step in, The Ego step out"
In a positive note I can say that this interview is spiritually positive. If I let go of any preconceived ideas and prejudices I sense the Shakti emanating from Bhagavan Das.
    Shanti !

I met a yogini once, she is disciple of Sai Baba and was practicing this form of yoga. she won't take any food and only drink water. She was the real deal like you said.
Prana enters via the medulla oblongata and bathes each cells of the body.
There are certain secret yogi techniques that allows the cosmic energy to maintain the physical body in the absence of food intake.

'Your outer guru is important to hook you up with your inner guru', nothing more. Most of us need external inspiration 'clues' to connect us with the internal-realm of 'intuition'. But once we become internally reconnected, we need to let go of our external guru. If we don't we find ourselves worshipping the messenger rather than the message... and getting lost again. I'm as lost as anyone else most of the time... but not as lost as these 'interviewers'. Bhagavan Das spoke some beautiful inspirational words here, for thirty seconds or so... the rest is just drama and getting lost in the illusion.

ease up everyone, calm cool answers are the way.....besides, it makes you look good. Since my last post, I'm seeing the beauty in all living things and trying not to worry about anybody's hang ups and most of all, try not to have many too...

I'm curious to know how much research you've done on B. Das, besides seeing this interview. In his book "It is Here Now (Are You?)" and in other interviews, he's acknowledged that he has taken many different paths in his life and not all of them were particularly positive. He even became a devout Christian in his late 30s. Therefore, Das in his early 60s is certainly going to be different from the Das in his early 20s.

My friend, have you ever heard of Shri Ramakrisna the 19th century saint who taught the oneness of all major religions? He practiced and had realisations in each of these paths. At that awareness these religions are but skill full means. Each like a medicine for different illnesses of the mind.

I know I am in no position to say this, and although Bhagavan Das appears to be a good person, I have a feeling he isn't as in-touch as he was years ago. He kind of reminds me of those semi-arrogant hippies that I'd live with in communes. That said, everyone goes through ups and downs and no one is perfect, even Bhagavan Das, and he will be "up" again soon enough.
I, myself, am flooded with impurities and garbage in my head.

Paula, thanks for putting this up. Provided that he doesn't do a ton of interviews, I'm still discovering Bhagavan Das. I had no idea he witnessed 911.
Nevertheless, I could just listen to him for hours.

I saw an old video of him recently ('Karmageddon' with Jeff Brown) and he seemed quite sexually fixated. There were concerns expressed about his pursuit of much younger women in the film. It's one thing to be promiscuous , but just don't put it under the 'spiritual' umbrella - as ultimately it cheapens true spirituality. So many modern 'gurus' appear to sanction all kinds of behaviours, claining transcendence of base desires. But if they've actually gone beyond those desires, why are they still acting them out? It just doesn't gel. Back in the day, a self-styled guru (Bubba Free John) said that his 'relationships' with young women in the ashram were on the level of Krishna and the Gopis. That must have been insulting for many Hindus.

    • @jitendratiwari6886

dear swastika is a hindu symbol, hitler used this symbol to represent aryan notion. if you want to know about all these things you read books of, yogananda, daya mata, and my favorite "lectures on gita by shri arvind" and lectures by vivekananda. but it will take long time around 10 to 12 years if you will consistently work on it most of the people leave their spiritual path , but at last you will feel very good in ur heart. spirituality is nothing but worship of women but it will take long time to earn devotion for her

idd never heard of it, i just wanted an explenation and i know this isn't a Hitler group thats why i asked.

I sweated my ass off doing high steel rigging for the dalai lama at the Yum Center in Louisville. He supplied no drinks for any of the local crew (like most everyone else does). Not even water. To make matters worse, every vending machine in the building was shut down for his security. Worst of all, he sold tickets for $35 to $100 to hear his crap on May 19 & 20, and as of June 22, I still haven't been paid a penny of the hundreds of dollars he owes me. He's a bum in my book!
