Not gonna lie, I’m pretty sure a lot of those views from the past few months were me as I was falling asleep because that kind of format is soothing to me. Can’t explain why. 😂 But I’d also like to say that this series is absolutely amazing. I get excited when a new one pops up in my Notifications. This one is no different. ❤
Another RUclipsr/Streamer I follow said when they first heard people used their content to fall asleep it offended them a bit but as time went on they realized it was actually a huge compliment because a lot of people use content they love as a sleeping aid so it actually meant people were really digging their stuff.
Your Intended videos have become some of my favourite content on youtube as a whole, not even just your channel. Nice voice, interesting and fun concept, pokemon related, some fun comedy here and there, just great and super bingeable. I'm kind of sad you've covered all the main games/guides now, but still excited for more content from your channel regardless.
has it already been 4 years ? time goes fast. i remember when i finished that video i was hooked and couldn't wait until the next one . it is definitely one of the greats . also i'd like to see you beat pokemon like its 1999 with gamefacs lol
13:20 The funniest part is that those people were literally doing a *blind* playthrough of the game, but when you have a guide, it should point out every available item, even if it *isn't* plot-critical. It definitely should have mentioned to pick up Flash (though maybe they thought having a map of the cave in the guide would be good enough... lol)
5:10 Yeah, not gonna name names, but I have seen that a few times- either in the title, or in intro they're all like "I'm/We're the first people to do this completely original idea", when a quick RUclips search shows that they're not at all the first people to do it. Even if they take an idea, and kinda tweak just it a bit, I still feel it's a bit misleading to act like it's your own completely 100% original idea. So I do appreciate you acknowledging where you got the idea from, and that someone else did it first- even if you're the first one to do it with Pokemon.
I remember first seeing this video when it came out and just loving it, so thanks for keeping it up since. I had the same prima guide growing up and im so glad so many people got to enjoy all the quirks and silly errors like we did
I originally saw your video via Mikey's reaction, then later I watched it properly on your channel and now via this video I've watched it 3 times. Anyway, congratulations on over a decade on RUclips and over 200k subs 😊
I originally saw Mikey's reaction then a while later they collaborated for the "Two Facts and One Lie" video and it was after that I started watching PaPaSea. Now I watch every PaPaSea video and only some of Mikey's.
I admit I would love to see Spyro Enter the Dragonfly, mostly because it's known for its game-breaking bugs. There is a glitch that usually ensures you can't make past one of the levels midgame. It would be interesting to see someone try to make the end. Either way, wonderful videos and Happy Anniversary!
I would absolutely be down for Enter the Dragonfly. That game was the bane of my tiny existence as a child, haven't ever gone back, so I'd personally love to see a video from you covering it. Can't say it'd be financially successful, but I'd certainly watch it.
Something else I noticed in this guide as a kid is that the Gen 1 Pokémon that were in the Hoenn Pokédex use their old Red/Blue artwork but the ones that didn’t appear in Hoenn use their new artwork
Well, the games don't generally capitalize the "s" in "Vs.," so it reads as "versus," while the TCG capitalizes it as "VS" instead. Interesting difference.
Awesome look back This video is how I found your channel as well from MANDJTV's reaction of it For Hammer Away merch are you allowed to do a shirt that says: Keep Calm and Hammer Away Another Nintended video suggestion: using Gen 1 guides to beat FRLG and LGPE and maybe Kanto part of GSC and HGSS Can call it Beating Pokémon how Genwunners Nintended
Agreed. Behind the scenes videos are very interesting tp watch. They can give you a whole new perspective on some videos... or they can simply be a source of little fun facts. :)
This is one of my favourite videos alongside the electric chaos nuzlocke! I’ve watched this video and the entire playlist over and over, normally to fall asleep to! Love seeing how much you’ve grown as a creator!
As a kid, my friends and I would use those guides and follow them to the T. Started watching you then around 2020 and I watch just about every video. Honesty it’s pretty awesome that this is your job, good for you man and keep making the great content!
06:09 Well Rock does resist Poison, and "strongest" does'nt have to mean "Super Effective" (could also mean "Resisting"). But yeah, Fire is probably definitely a mistake. And even Rock might have been confused with Ground.
Today I learned that Papasea is a year younger than me and now I'm feeling old Also, when I played this game long ago, I played the french version, and I barely even spoke English... my confusion was... how did I finish this game as a 10 years old Like my GB Color is Japanese, my GBA is french
I think I’ve only come on one of your videos once I believe. I’ve been watching you even before your biggest Pokémon video video. I mean this is my favorite series of yours, but honestly, I watch basically anything you put out. I love your personality.
I've been watching since the first Nintendo Intended video and it has been a fantastic journey so far! So many in-jokes that were adopted along the way. Hammer away is a classic! I used to follow a lot of different Nuzlocke channels, but a lot of them went too hard in the meme/edit territory for my taste. I'm glad that Papa over here can deliver the funnies without using a clip from a movie at high volume.
Speaking of loving Hitmonchan in 2020, Galarian Darmanitan was allowed in standard smogon play back then, so I used Hitmonchan as a check and the goal was to one shot it with a choice-banded mach punch. Nobody expected it and they all thought they'd outspeed and OHKO me and my weak defence. Bad times, bad times, glad that one got banned relatively quickly
The t-shirt could look like the text box where it says Fight, Bag, Pokemon, Run but all the options are Hammer Away because we always Hammer Away. Then if you want there can be text above it that says "Always Hammer Away" or something like that. Pretty sure without the word Pokemon on there it would be legally distinct enough to not cause any issues.
I remember seeing that video on the day it came out and loving it! Another youtuber called ZeroLenny does something similar to this series where he takes the IGN day 1 guide and tries to beat the dark souls series. I miss the charm in these older guides compared to the modern ones.
Merch Idea: Take the template of that old Epic Meal Time shirt (the one that says "Bacon Strips & bacon strips & bacon strips...) but repleade the "bacon strips" with various phrases like "hammer away & dispatch & two shakes of a lamb's tail &..."
9:15 As someone who just doesn't like mustaches, I actually preferred it shaved. But, that's just me. If you like it, it's your face, so do what makes you the most comfortable.
Possible way to showcase doing an Eric guide tribute series would be to make it clear in the title and thumbnail that it is that, and briefly remind folks of Eric's legacy in regards to this channel. Based on this video, we have a lot to thank Eric for. o7
Nostalgia! I remember watching this video and every Nintended since. I don't watch a lot of Poketubers but these videos made me sub back then and I've followed since. Something I'm curious now for some reason lol, where does your name PapaSea come from? Not sure if I ever heard you mention it in a video. Or if you did I forgot lol.
6:26 I've literally never seen the video until this day. And I've never played a Pokemon game other than Detective Pikachu (though I've watched too many gameplay videos on it). But noticed the quote doesn't say anything about being "super effective," or that Psychic is weak against them. It just says these types are the strongest against Psychic. You could have one type that is the absolute best, and two types that are still better than the rest. It seems weird for the guide to get that idea from nowhere. So they had to get the idea that those other types were good against Psychic somehow. Hypothesizing about why they believe that seems fair game to me.
The OG is one of those videos I've rewatch so much in such a short timespan that it kinda ruined my ability to enjoy it. 😅 My brain is now hard-wired to subconciously expect everything that happens in the video, even if I can't recall it off the top of my head, so I'm not as caught off guard by the jokes and turns of events as I used to. Still, I'd say that's a sign of a high quality. The video was so good, I wanted to watch it over and over. Thank you, Papasea. 😊 _(relatedly, would it be correct to rephrase your name as Father of the Ocean 🤔 Because "Papa Sea")_
if you arent aware, the youtuber who always says the fossil he takes is Mahdryplayspokemon , i believe, its something along that line he does pokemon challenges, really fun channel
Saying the title at the beginning is good to grab the attention of the audience, and therefor have more viewers finish the video. Also it gives you more recognizeability, over generic pokemon youtubers, and people will remember to continue watching you.
I don't know how I didn't notice this the first time I saw your how Nintendo intended video, but I'm sure that the guide writer never played this game, but only played the original rby. Only in the original rby do you get ice beam from the rooftop girl, and only in rby are the rockets all optional in the game corner because of the pokedoll glitch in lavender town. The rivals added team members because of lack of good moves on his fire/grass types in rby, and the original games you have to "Hammer away" because theres less strategy than in the remakes. For a shirt design, the options you put in the video. A. B. C.hammee away, with the a/b options in red and c.hammer away in green or circled.
I only discovered this video series quite recently, but I'm enjoying these "Beating Pokemon How Nintendo Intended" so much! Have you considered a How Nintendo intended of spin-off titles like Pokemon Conquest or Pokemon Trading Card Game (for Gameboy Color)? I don't know if they had any guides though, but it might be worth checking out. You have even inspired me to do my own playthroughs as Nintendo intended (not for RUclips or other video site, just for myself as a hobbyist). I'm sure I would discover new things and use Pokemon I would otherwise opt away. Pokemon is one of my fave franchises, but I would def watch a Spyro video. Beyblade too probably. (And Fantasy Life, Dragon Quest, Rune Factory, and Shin Megami Tensei). But I kinda hope the focus won't change from Pokemon on the channel.
First and foremost, I had no idea that video came out on my birthday (just like this one, 33, God I'm old). Second, please collaborate with lord enter the unknown!
doesn't make sense to get flash my guy. just use a map online OR go in blind. i just did infinite fusion which is fire red romhack and i just did rock tunnel blind. very easy.
The voice being more confident later on is such a common theme for channels, it's basically a trope at this point.
@@davemccombs no idea why you’re such a hater leaving comments like this so often today but I hope you find peace and happiness soon

Yep I watch this channel and DYKG every night to go to bed 😂
this and flygonhg

Hammered away at the like button in two shakes of a lamb's tail
Some good memories watching your nintended videos, especially the first ones : )

Such an interesting retrospective, love seeing this behind-the-scenes view. Keep up the amazing content!

11:43 I played and used the card for years in the TCG. I’ve always said “versus seeker”. Most did the same from what I recall.
You’re one of the reasons I want to make Pokémon content. You’re great!!
"Two Shakes of a Lamb's Tail" with a ... Electric colored sheep image
Shirt idea on the front: Tough Opponent? on the back: Hammer away at them.
Awesome look back
This video is how I found your channel as well from MANDJTV's reaction of it
For Hammer Away merch are you allowed to do a shirt that says: Keep Calm and Hammer Away
Another Nintended video suggestion: using Gen 1 guides to beat FRLG and LGPE and maybe Kanto part of GSC and HGSS
Can call it Beating Pokémon how Genwunners Nintended
"People thought me getting the Fossil was an ode to another RUclipsr."
... MDB?
Not having access to the internet was just normal back then alot of people didn't have it etc so yeah in my opinion it was harder to find guides
You need to do these for more of your other videos like this, seeing your thought process and the behind the scenes things is super interesting
Agreed. Behind the scenes videos are very interesting tp watch. They can give you a whole new perspective on some videos... or they can simply be a source of little fun facts. :)

I like it when it (and you) says Lay Down the Law
13:29 “my brother in Christ…” made me laugh pretty good.

That's my boy, Mr. Nintendid! The confidence shift in the voice is definitely noticeable
I'm sure nobody can say you are a bulbasaur fan just looking at your background. haha Just saying. I love your videos, man!
There’s not way that video was 4 years ago, I remember watching it like it was yesterday
08:53, 09:15 - Well that's the kinda beard that Avatar Aang and the PokéTuber Hoops-and-HipHop had. Maybe you were inspired by one of them.
You do a really good job tbh I’m suprised you don’t have more subs 🙏

I have an English SV guide. I think it’s super new though. I found your channel from Mikey. I’m glad I did 😊
Love seeing this Start, the start of my berry page non sense. Don’t plan on stopping!
I'd love a Spyro Nintended!

7:23 YES. I love Bulbasaur. He’s been my favorite since 1998.
I have a funko pop of him.😂
Oh I’m all for bringing team recaps back
Ngl it does not feel like its been years ago you made it. Maybe like just last year😂😂
I remember watching it in the year its released and have been a subscriber ever since.
Damn naming a mon hawk, you clearly summoned my viewership
I had this guide as a kid. I hated that it didn't fully cover the sevii islands
Beating the JRPG inspired Monster batteling Video game as our corporate overloards see fit

That Milan’s video is what led me to your awesome channel
im going to LAY down the law with MY VAPOREON
This video is definitely gonna get 10k views!

Always a good day when Father Ocean posts a new video!
You could write "Hammer Away" with a ◒ unicode symbol since it looks like a Pokeball.
Design idea
Lay down the law and hammer away and just have a hammer and chisel hitting a piece od paper
Dude!!! Your vids are amazing!! 💪😎 Unexpected win a year or so ago when I came across you. I basically haven't watched tv in a couple years 😂😅🤷
Dude has such an iconic voice
Hawk? You definitely predicted Hawk Tuah girl
You could just rng manip for shinies. 20 hours seems reasonable. It only takes an hour or so to get one.
21:38 Monkey Ball let’s go boys!!!!!!
I would watch your other game uploads--I understand a lot of pokemon fans may not, but I'm a video game fan, so I'd love a Spyro or Beyblade vis
if you arent aware, the youtuber who always says the fossil he takes is Mahdryplayspokemon , i believe, its something along that line
he does pokemon challenges, really fun channel
Really love this self react idea
If this was made today, Hawk would have a second name... Tuah
would 100% watch a Spyro video from you
Lets go papasea i remember this love it

Or a shirt that says "as papasea intended"
Yeah back in the day Internet wasn't that helpful. And some couldn't get to it
Beating Pokemon how Game Freak intended it.
Big big zaddy energy yass

13:38 I mean, I haven’t touched rby or frlg since the 3ds release and I can probably still get through blind. lol
Finally got here early. Keep up the good work❤
I'm watching this video like PapaSea intended
Maybe you could do a secoundary channel for other non-Pokemon games. I think Jrose did that.
10:44 ... No, PLEASE get into that
Hammering Away Since 1996
that shirt is literally a shiny swalot, not legally distinct at ALL...
First and foremost, I had no idea that video came out on my birthday (just like this one, 33, God I'm old). Second, please collaborate with lord enter the unknown!
Tawkin like you're from Lawn Guyland
SNOW HALATION!
Beyblade v force is my jam!

I really hope he makes “hammer away” merch
