    To those of you who think that Johnny is draggin this band down:
    His vocals are probably some of the most unique I've heard.
    You could probably name a ton of bands and they all have similar vocals but when you say Job for a cowboy, you instantly know what they sound like.

    • @Thydeepestfear
      @Thydeepestfear 10 лет назад +84

      Seriously. He has some of the rawest vocals I've heard in a long time. The power alone in his lows sound absolutely demonic even by death metal standerds.

    • @Chaosweaver667
      @Chaosweaver667 10 лет назад +7

      I like the vocals but I disagree with your statement. It could possibly be because I haven't listened to much more than a few songs from these guys, and since I'm not used to his voice, it sounds similar to other bands of the same genre. The same effect as someone who hardly listens to metal thinks it's all screaming and the same.
      That being said I will definitely be getting their new album when it's released.

    • @BrutalFuJay

    • @barrywood8249
      @barrywood8249 10 лет назад +17

      Indeed. Johnny sounds straight up fucking evil. To be able to go from his guttural lows to the highs he does within one vocal line is remarkable. Not an easy thing to do. He's got several levels of voices and that is soooo much better than the guys that have one sound to their voice and that's it. I don't really see what people are bitching about, but hey, opinions vary, and that's cool. Can't wait to hear this whole album.

    This song and the band are so underrated AF. They should headline some festival or record a live session of this song because it has such a complex riff. Can't wait for their comeback.

    By far JFAC's best work. I've been listening to this guys since they released Doom EP, and I didn't know what Deathcore was, in that days every extreme music for me was metal, I can remember watching their first video and my thoughts were "Ewwww, the singer is emo" hahahaha. Then Genesis came out and I was like "Oh, it is ok, I guess" and everything after was just too boring. Those days helped me to understand that metal in any subgenre can be as boring and repetitive as any "core" band out there (no offense to anyone who likes generic bands, I also like some). My point is... fanboys,"true" metalheads, and brutal kids.... Be glad: JFAC just released their most complex and unique album. That means growing up and keeping it always fresh. And if you think it sucks just because you don't like it, you are just an asshole. Grats to JFAC guys for releasing one of the best records of this year :3

    Just when I thought they couldn't top their last album. From this song alone the album sounds bad ass. Honestly Genesis came out, I fell in love with the song The Divine Falsehood. Ruination came out, I fell in love with the song Ruination. Demonocracy came out, and I fell in love with Tarnished Gluttony. Now Sun Eater is coming out and I am falling in love with this song... I am just kind of upset for 3 reasons that are minor. Number 1: They should have kept the one word album title tradition going. Number 2: They should have had the ram skull a bit more of the focal point as previous albums on the cover. Number 3: I was a die hard fan of Jon Rice and was highly upset to see him go and join a soft band.

    Im surprised jfac didnt get any more views.. Such fantastic song writing and talent.. I feel like because they started out as a deathcore, they couldnt get the respect they deserved in the world of death metal purists and at the same time they lost the deathcoreheads because they switched style... I will forever love them and miss their live shows

      The hate that some death metal "elitists"(aka virgins) had for any band that was currently or formerly (even remotely) related to deathore was some of the most pathetic shit anyways. People acting like it was a war or something and you had to pick a side. They didn't even want to give bands a chance if they had any relation to deathcore. They were so closed minded.
      And it's ironic because deathcore was basically the closest sounding genre to death metal. They're really not that different. I mean by definition, at it's "core" all deathcore was just death metal with metalcore elements. And there was so many different types of deathcore. Not all deathcore was created equal. Some were good, some were bad, some leaned more towards metalcore, some leaned more towards death metal. But in the minds of the elitists all deathcore bands were identical.
      Shit there was a lot of deathcore bands that barely even had any core elements at all. I'd say the majority of the deathcore bands I used to listen to leaned more on the death metal side of things. They just had more frequent breakdowns than death metal typically has. But people wouldn't even give those bands a chance. As someone who enjoyed both, I didn't get it. Was a tiny amount of metalcore elements or some chugging breakdowns here and there really that big of a deal to the point where those bands deserved to get hated on or their entire catalogue of music completely written off as being dogshit?
      Like you said, it was a damn shame especially for bands like JFAC who only started as a deathcore band then switched genres completely. They released 1 deathcore demo and 1 deathcore EP, then got rid of every single band member aside from the vocalist and were a completely different band afterwards playing real (and quite good) death metal. I can't understand for the life of me why they still got hate. Probably because people didn't even give them a chance.
      Oh well, I bet those elitists missed out on bands that they would have really enjoyed if they actually gave the band a fair chance, but they missed out due to ignorance and feeling the need to pick a side for no reason.

      Part of the reason they never got big after this is cause they didn't really announce this album and they really didn't tour for it or promote it, not like most bands would. It was very much a quiet drop. They just dropped this fuckin bomb on us and that was pretty much it. That's why there's practically zero live footage of them playing this stuff.
      I'v def had people that wouldn't listen to this because they thought it was just more slamcore stuff like their first album and i tried to explain how awesome this is that it's essentially a proggy death metal masterpeice and people just don't wanna hear it.

    I have to say, on the past few records, this band has been steadily increasing in musicianship and songwriting, and it's cool to see. I love the dynamic beginning that's reminiscent of Intronaut and how the solo has a moody post-apocalyptic feel to it; the bass being higher in the mix is a nice touch as well!

    As expected, tons of people are being pedantic about what genre JFAC is/isn't, arguing about "tech death" this and "prog death" that, rather than just enjoying it for what it is; a great metal song. JFAC has consistently improved with every album, and this song continues that trend. Looking forward to hearing the full album.
