This could entirely be overthinking but what if the instigation on both Cody and Rocks side was what Cody’s “conversation” with Rock was about, where they struck a deal to a) have Cody win the championship and b) have rock take over the bloodline, win-win for both. WWE rolls with heel rock and then when Cody and Rock (probably a while later) finally let enough time pass, they cut a promo outlining how they did this to, as Cody said, take “everything from you” referring to Roman. Roman feeling betrayed w no blood line and title, finally gets to feud with rock properly, with his main gripe being that he used the family name to get power. Heel Rock, slight Roman face turn (but only after he descends into madness bc that would epic to see), and then Cody finishes story with a long game of “damn that was sneaky, wolf in politicians clothes” type thing. Lmk!
The Stardom-AEW thing makes no sense because Hayashishita Utami literally worked some dates with ROH last year. They weren’t being prevented from working with AEW at all.
All the work they’ve done to back track on their mistakes is great. It doesn’t take away from the fact that all of it could’ve been avoided in the first place in my opinion

I think Roman saying "no pop" hits harder because A. I agree with Jack, it's burying Seth, not the belt, and B. It's also kind of burying the belt by extension because it already has the reputation of being a consolation prize and Cody choosing Roman isn't going to help with that idea. Unfortunately, I don't think they'll ever totally shake that idea from that belt just because of the nature of how it was introduced.

No he didnt need to come back right now. The Rock Roman match isn't a bad thing, but its a year or 2 too late. Everything was set up for Cody to win, people praised the WWE for not needing legends to enter the rumble and WWE is hotter than its been a long time. Its a good idea but the wrong time.

And the two title matches were great. Was very happy we finally got the turn. How did you find it??
