"Knowing my luck they'll throw away the post-it note with my phone number and I won't get a call back." Next day- "Well, they threw away my post-it note" 🤣
I was a forklift mechanic for about 8 years before going into the electrical apprenticeship. Best advice I have for you is to keep your oil clean, and replace your air filter every oil change. Also, have some serious respect for this thing, it weighs somewhere in the ball park of 8,000 lbs, and will crush anything in its path.
It depends on the lift, easiest way to tell is by pulling the floor plate, and looking to see if they are a married, or separate unit. If they are married, it is usually a wet brake axle that partially shares oil with the trans, if not it just takes gear oil in the diff all on its own. If I does turn out to be a wet brake axle you will also have a gear oil filled planetary.
We used to have a Toyota like this where I work and they had to get rid of it cuz it was so much faster than all the other forklifts and people were arguing over who got it
Just purchased my second set of apparel from work for it love the designs. I know ur feeling with the 6.0 PowerStroke Ryan I have an 06 I’ve had since I was 15 1/2 saved bought it now having nothing but problems first egr and oil cooler and problems after fixed it and fixed it and no crank no start so I finally just sold it. Keep up the work you aspire me everyday man
Lol im a moderator of a resident page and saw a post come through about solar panel cleaning. And one of the photos looked really familiar 🤣. Here i am now watching the part of the video of the photo i saw.
I appreciate you always trying to support the local small businesses 💪 my dream is to get out of my thankless job and start my own company, just gotta keep grinding to get that start up capital. Gotta workforit
Hey Ryno, just an idea, but it’d probably be beneficial to everyone, including you getting more entries for the LLY Giveaway, but you should do a walk-around video and show everything you’ve done to her, how many miles on her, and that kinda stuff. I know for people that have been around for a while like myself there’s a few older build videos on the LLY, but still think it’d be good to do a current video with all the info on her how she sits right now.
I love your videos ryno but you spray painted the mini truck and are doing an automotive paint job on the Forky, sounds like you should have swapped those lol
Maybe swap out the zero visibility metal roof for a pice of plexiglass with a slight 35% window tint? Block sun and overhead mishaps but, still see- thru?? That would look ALOT better than some sheet metal.
I work in a mfg.plant. We make and paint door handle for Toyota Lexus Subaru MGM. I've mixed paint for about 5 years. All together the biggest thing to know the different thinners that you use all just change how thick the paint is or how fast it evaporates to harden. The catalyst shouldnt change for all of our paints and we have about 80 they all use the same catalyst. You have a lil wiggle room with thinner but catalyst needs to be pretty dead on otherwise it'll change your hardening time greatly.
I’m a current field tech for Toyota forklifts and if you take care of yours with regular service and greasing you’ll have it to the day you die. The 4y engine is also indestructible and how much you’ll be using it at the shop it will last forever
As a paint and body guy your sticker shock is what I tell all my friends that "want me to paint their car" if you want to save bucks take it macco... I tell them what you pay for paint is what I pay for the paint...once they see that its 3-400$ just for paint they change their tune. Very few people I'll do side jobs for
Take a lifting sling or tow strap and tie the top of the mast frame to your lift arm and undo your hydraulic lines and pivot pins to take the mast off to get in that area real good
It's still gonna look badass when it's done! Just now ordered A hoodie, T-shirt, and key tag while watching this !!! I want that truck !!!! Much respect!
Just take you time and make sure your mixing cup is level. You have a little bit of wiggle room on everything on your amounts just keep track of it. I would make a smaller batch and get the mix and spray right then do the lift.
Ditch those factory rear lights on top and add a prerunner chase bar. Already has all the same functions plus strobes built in. Way cooler and probably cheaper than factory!
I got a crazy idea what if you bondo over Toyota and make a vinyl decal template and take a Chisel engraver and put workforit on the back instead of Toyota?!? Then have someone come airbrush it nice before you clear coat?? 👍
Oh my GOD Ryno! I was thinking it would look awesome in white and purple and you're going grey and purple. Great minds think alike. or is that warped minds? :P I can't wait to see this thing finished
You needed 2 k epoxy primer over the condo to seal the surface then after it kicks you need to block it out to get rid of all the scratches then paint then clear..
I'm gonna save this video and tell my friends who want me to paint something cheap to watch it. Auto paint gets expensive quickly but people don't realize it. Oh and you're more than likely want to spray the purple and clear at night when everyone else is gone. There's gonna be alot of overspray and fumes from it.
Finish master is a big company lol I'm a manger of a paint shop in the Tampa Bay florida area. We use finish master for our supplies keep up the good work ryan
I give it 90 days before someone bumps the back end of the forklift and busting bondo and paint off. Then again I’ve worked in a warehouse for 15 years and our lifts get the shit beat out of them.
I was going to get a new paint job done on my SUV in they said it would cost 5k, I'm only 17 don't have that type of money, so I bought glossy black spray paint in clear coat, Sand paper, now my truck looks better from the factory, it cost me only 400 dollars
Just be careful with the clear and paint itself omni is good stuff for being cheaper its the sister company of PPG as long as the paint place knows if the base and clear will play nice with eachother you should be golden (ask me how i know haha). Also when you spray it air pressure is you friend so you get good even coverage. Spary a piece of carboard and adjust air pressure till it looks its evenly spraying. Good luck!
Waiting on the tow hit covers in black and white to be back in stock to pre order. May just order the all metal one. And what would zack recommend for lb7 injectors on a stock truck? Im not sure but i may have to replace the motor but hoping its injectors
Reduce the paint 2:1 not 1:1. That purple doesnt cover in 1:1 and yes everything they sold you is correct, which is why some of us cant paint friends cars for $500 lol!! Im assuming the primer is a 4:1 mix with 10% reducer. Hopefully they sold your dark grey or black primer.
You could've just gone with HoK Pavo Purple and not dealt with pearls... expensive but beautiful, a lot easier than a mid coat. Unfortunately it's going to look like absolute shit on that forklift because of the dents. Every little imperfection is going to show up 100X worse than if you just went with a solid color on it without pearl. Pearl/flake shows everything because it refracts light differently with each change in angle. You definitely need to learn what you should do custom paint on and what you shouldn't.. That Kei truck would've been far more worth the effort than a damn forklift. If you don't want to get water on the bondo, just tape it off.. Grab some plastic like you'd wrap a pallet with and tape it over the filler and then wash the rest of it.. Problem solved. Get some wax and grease remover from the auto paint store, works way better than any normal degreaser. With those paints make sure to mix them for two solid minutes and try not to mix a bunch of air into them. When you finally do spray them make sure your gun is at 12psi AT THE GUN! With a 12 foot hose that should be at about 20-24psi out the tank. I wish I lived close so I could teach you how to do it right.. or just do it for you but I'm north of Sacramento like 540 miles away.
I know this is gonna sound crazy but hang in there.........next forklift mod...........RGB leds in the wheel wells. Boom done. You just won 1st place in the forklift sema events.
It would have been perfectly fine using a normal high build primer they are basically all dtm I mean if it was all metal no I wouldn’t but there minimal metal on that thing
Thanks for the company plug, appreciate you my dude !!!
He's turning the forklift into a low rider, Thanks Georjah
"Knowing my luck they'll throw away the post-it note with my phone number and I won't get a call back." Next day- "Well, they threw away my post-it note" 🤣
Is your truck still for sell
Idk if it’s the right truck but I saw a truck with the same paint job for sale somewhere

Also, have some serious respect for this thing, it weighs somewhere in the ball park of 8,000 lbs, and will crush anything in its path.
Do you know if old Toyota manual Forklifts have a separate transmission fill port or do they share from diff
Ok, Big Guy
It depends on the lift, easiest way to tell is by pulling the floor plate, and looking to see if they are a married, or separate unit. @@Fordguy9906 right on I appreciate your comment
Toyota 3fg10 Forklift
We used to have a Toyota like this where I work and they had to get rid of it cuz it was so much faster than all the other forklifts and people were arguing over who got it
This is expiring me to start my business. I have always wanted to be a European Gigolo like Rob Schneider. My time has come to shine!!!
Inspiring*

Nice gray color!! Can’t wait to see the results with the plum crazy purple! 👍
Scotch brite pads work well getting in the cracks warm water and soap!!
definitely is going to need a chrome low rider style chain steering wheel now 😂
IM IN!
And a chrome propane bottle lol mabee you can polish it out
I appreciate you always trying to support the local small businesses 💪 my dream is to get out of my thankless job and start my own company, just gotta keep grinding to get that start up capital. Gotta workforit

I bet that purple is gonna be cool. I was hoping it was going to be painted white, with a bronze roll bar like the underside of the BBB.
Let’s gooooo! It’s a Good Friday!

You should have hit those areas with a rattle can primer just to seal the bondo and then pressure wash the rest of it
Yup, an epoxy sealer primer would have taken care of it.
Self etching primer/sealer would be best!
I think Its awesome that hes turning small business on like that. 🤘
As a paint and body guy your sticker shock is what I tell all my friends that "want me to paint their car" if you want to save bucks take it macco...

Take a lifting sling or tow strap and tie the top of the mast frame to your lift arm and undo your hydraulic lines and pivot pins to take the mast off to get in that area real good
Next time on your cleaning use 409 cleaner or Dawn Dishwashing liquid to clean grease or oil! Cheap cleaners but effective!
It's still gonna look badass when it's done! Just now ordered A hoodie, T-shirt, and key tag while watching this !!! I want that truck !!!! Much respect!

Could Sergio get you a different light bar for the back of the forklift instead of fixing the oem one ?
Damn Ryno, the ocd has kicked in full force. You are perfectionist!!
I got a crazy idea what if you bondo over Toyota and make a vinyl decal template and take a Chisel engraver and put workforit on the back instead of Toyota?!? Then have someone come airbrush it nice before you clear coat?? 👍
I like to use something like brake cleaner or carb cleaner to get that degreaser film off, works really good.
You should paint the front light cages and vent covers on the cage that purple….
An old corrugated plastic sign zip tied to the top works great.
Favorite RUclipsr, hands down 🙌
You should make the head rack tri-folding so you can use it when needed and when you don't, it's not in the way (When looking up)
Do you have a time frame on when the hats are going to be back in stock on your website?
Oh my GOD Ryno! I was thinking it would look awesome in white and purple and you're going grey and purple. Great minds think alike. or is that warped minds? :P I can't wait to see this thing finished
You needed 2 k epoxy primer over the condo to seal the surface then after it kicks you need to block it out to get rid of all the scratches then paint then clear..
You need to paint the tank purple to match the forklift!
Wow that escalated quick Turning into quite the project Lol
My favorite Mopar color......Plum Crazy Purple!! LOVE IT
I Wait around every week for a upload from you man
Hey man, your a really good dude for what you did for your animals in a fire, hats off too you my friend, and the least I can do is subscribe
You should talk to Ryan Mayer about how to mix the paint, primer, and sealer he could definitely help you out
Gotta do a lowrider rearview mirrior..and some led caddy style tail lights
The price of automotive paint is getting high especially going base clear coat. Compared to single stage
She’s coming but I can’t get the right angle on her lmao good words
Bro that fork lift is looking good that gray in the front was a good choice
Idk if I'd weld that roof top thingy back on. I would probably bolt it so it easy to take off next time.
Finally. Man been waiting
Yeah I do fence repair and installs. Adding fence power washing and staining soon
Beautiful color, I was thinking about a color theme for my car, black and purple
Put a long hinge on on the roof piece so you can flip it out of the way when you need to!
You should get a large piece of plexiglass for the top so you can see overhead.
Ebay has that rear light , looks like its $40.00
Add some holes to that roof panel and bolt/screw that thing on. Then you can remove it when ever you like.
Brake clean works good as a degreaser and less of a film left behind
Finish master is a big company lol I'm a manger of a paint shop in the Tampa Bay florida area. We use finish master for our supplies keep up the good work ryan
You should get the wheels on the forklift chrome plated
Go clear or tinted plexiglas for the roof for visibility..most of the lifts I drive have them..
I actually need to buy some tinted plexi for another project, might add another sheet for this, I like that idea
Gunna be ready for 'Forklift Nationals'..
Actually-bondo does technically seal surfaces from water.
It also absorbs it too.
Bondo does not seal from water .
I give it 90 days before someone bumps the back end of the forklift and busting bondo and paint off. Then again I’ve worked in a warehouse for 15 years and our lifts get the shit beat out of them.
“ She’s coming but I can’t quite the right angle on her”
Plum crazy purple is an awesome color. It’s a 60s dodge color
I was going to get a new paint job done on my SUV in they said it would cost 5k, I'm only 17 don't have that type of money, so I bought glossy black spray paint in clear coat, Sand paper, now my truck looks better from the factory, it cost me only 400 dollars
Ryan with his pink wheels and purple forklift lol
Just be careful with the clear and paint itself omni is good stuff for being cheaper its the sister company of PPG as long as the paint place knows if the base and clear will play nice with eachother you should be golden (ask me how i know haha). Appreciate the tips!
Anytime man!

Put the work for it logo across back in nice black on top of purple
Awesome a Friday evening video
You and Eddie need to have a forklift race 😂😂
Dude, FYI Finish Masters has 210 + locations across the country. No small shop by any means.
😉
For cleaning denatured alcohol would have worked wonders and fully evaporated!
I’m the same way, I like things to look best as they can. I clean my chainsaw every time I use it even if it’s only been used a couple minutes 😂
That thing will look sweet with that purple!!
You should get a dry ice blaster for the shop.
Ole mopar plum crazy purple is gonna look 🔥🔥🔥
Ditch the old light and install a chase light
Ryno’s forklift restorations 😂😂😂
Reduce the paint 2:1 not 1:1. That purple doesnt cover in 1:1 and yes everything they sold you is correct, which is why some of us cant paint friends cars for $500 lol!! Im assuming the primer is a 4:1 mix with 10% reducer. Hopefully they sold your dark grey or black primer.
Dont forget to coat ur solarpannels after cleaning
I love to enter for your truck, but I deploy shortly....so I wouldn't get the phone but best of luck to whoever wins it!
Don’t be hesitant on buying his hats they fit absolutely Perfect.! Never buying a name brand hat again.
When he said plumb crazy purple, I automatically thought of Joe dirt.
Put some skateboard grip tape on the feet areas
Might as well go for the fyeah spec at this point
Get in touch with me... I can talk u through how to get it done. I know you have alot of contacts but I'm here if you need anything
One of the levers next to the steering wheel will open the seat it tilts the steering wheel up and opens the seat

If you just primed the bondo you could pressure wash it no prob.
I know this is gonna sound crazy but hang in there.........next forklift mod...........RGB leds in the wheel wells. Boom done. You just won 1st place in the forklift sema events.
I’m honestly surprised you didn’t go with a Grey and white. 😳 keep it clean you know
Hey thats a nice battery you got in that forklift there partner.
I also seeing the propane tank being painted with pine stripes😝
Going to have crazy LEDS soon going to be a tricked out forklift from seeing most of his builds😂 always some light work
Willie is the man!
It would have been perfectly fine using a normal high build primer they are basically all dtm I mean if it was all metal no I wouldn’t but there minimal metal on that thing
Now it needs white tires and the propane tank polished.
