All the canal regulars I know use the FLOATING model, just saying.
It's not a jig and not to be fished the same.
When you see macks in the canal under attack from bass they're just below surface swimming fast. The floating model mimics that exactly.

do you need any special boots for those rocks? looks to be slippery with seaweeds

Not at all. Any good hiking boot with good ankle support will work just fine. If you want a little extra traction on some of the rocks (which can be slick at times) I would suggest using some Simms hardbite studs in the soles of the boots

I went to the army navy shop and bought a pair of cordura police boots ( stocking foot waders ) then screwed machine screws ( Home Depot ) into every tread . I can dance a Jig on the rocks with them now .

  • @vsonic86

So you let it sink to the bottom?

vsonic86 hi. That water is 30+ feet and has current. The lure is riding 1-2 feet below the surface, not the bottom.

I heard a lot of you talking mostly and not a whole lot showing anything… seems like you guys just want to hear yourselves talk and talk and talk…. You should have left the stock single hooks on … you only need 1 hook to catch a fish…. !!!! 😂🤣

when a big fish bites and twists the rear hook breaks away from the lure sometimes. When I bought them they always came with two treble hooks. Where'd you get yours?
