    Awesome video buddy. This has brought back some great memories, although we have only really fished the outer cape Canal Bait and tackle was a great shop. I would really like to fish the canal but not interested in fishing shoulder to shoulder, especially being an out of towner. LOL

      No one bothers ya Mark, as long as ya play nice, bur I'm the same way,,,theyre schooling biomasses, that MOVE, up and down, in and out,,,so they're really gonna be EVERYWHERE,,,, people, especially, the beginners,,, tend to congregate where more people are, catching fish, and the rr bridge, on the w end, and the rec area, and jetty, on the e end, are the easiest accessed, theefore, most publicized,,,, entrance, and exits to the canal,,,,THERES 7 MILES OF CANAL,,,(A FUNNEL),,, IN BETWEEN,,,lol,,,,its hard to walk away, from the SIGHT, of guys catchin,,,,so, they congregate,,,and, they get what they get,,,ive done it a 100 times, myself, until dawn broke,,,,,thanks for watchin,,,,,😎

    What are some easy to access spots (not full of people shoulder to shoulder) that you’d recommend for a beginner on foot at the canal?

    • @trailbossx2
      @trailbossx2  18 дней назад +2

      It's 7 miles long,,,and stripers are moving up and down, trying to trap bait,,,all day, and all night,,,if ya go to, red top, or canal bait,,they sell maps, that are better than the visitor center,,and youl see, all the established HOLES,,,there are poles, every 150 yards or so, along the canal,for navigation,,with numbers on them,,,,,get the pole number, off the map, of a hole,,,and follow the numbers, on the canal,,and your there,,,,some good holes, are pips rip, the cribbins,,,hobo jungle, split rock, the maritime,,,,to name a few,,,youll find peace, and fish there,,,theres 100s of great spots,,,and theyre, cruising, moving, biomasses,,90%of the time,,,a super cool tip,,is,,,as you walk down the access road,,,look for areas in the grass, leading, down to the canal,,,that's worn,,,like a path,,,ITS WORN FOR A REASON,,,,theres either a hole there, or a rip, or a piece of mussel bed, that sticks out, at low spring or neap tide,,,,but there's a REASON, why the path is there,,,Suttle but EXCELLENT, tip,,,simple,,,put the time in,,,to learn the subtle secrets,,,and youll get consistent,,,hope this helps,,,😎

      @@trailbossx2 appreciate the reply and info. I definitely get there are a ton of spots. I’m wondering if there are any really easy to access. I see a lot of guys biking up and down the 7 miles and I’ll be on foot… at least for the first few trips. I’m wondering wheres a good place to park and start.

      @@emoney508 it's an adventure,,,and the fun, is FISHING,,,,,,heres one,,,,on the mainland side,,,heading towards the Sagamore bridge,,,just before the large area, where the herring run is,,,,is a pull in, off the road,,,there are steep steps that lead down to the canal,,,at the bottom, is the area called the cribbins,,,its quiet and youll catch fish there,,,,hope this helps,,,😎

    Hello there. Is the Penn Slammer 5500 better than Daiwa BG5000 for Cape Cop Canal Fishing? And what rod do you recommend? Please help. Thank you.

    • @trailbossx2
      @trailbossx2  18 дней назад +1

      Both will work, on the reels,,main thing to consider, is A LONG CAST SPOOL, that's huge, to be able to go 3/4 across,,you want distance to hit breaking fish,,,and if you are a jigging guy,,,you want a reel with heavy, internal gears,,,to cast big jigs, that are needed, and pulling in heavy fish,,,against big tides,,of those 2 reels,,,im totally a penn guy,,,but thats why you see so many stellas, and van stahls, keep in mind long cast,,,okuma makes some killer, affordable long cast reels,,,as far as rods,,,11 foot heavy,,for long casts. I like tsunami trophy series,,,affordable,,,and long lasting,,,basically skies the limit money wise,,,but that up to you,,,long cast reel, that's well built, and 11ft heavy rod,,40 lb powerpro,,,and youre fishing,,,spinning,,,hope this helps,,😎

      That's correct, but most people don't know about army corps of engineers, and how to urilize,,the purpose is to make things, simple and easy, for first timers,,,,the visitor center covers all that, in one shot,,,thanks for watching,,,😎
