My biggest striper ever broke the stock treble hooks on my magic swimmer, by the time I had him to shore he was barely hooked in the chin by the back hook, have always been hesitant to take off back hooks since then as it saved me once
Great Choice on the lure! 2017 was a great fishing season. Magic Swimmers have still proven themselves successful and I always keep one in my gear bag! Let me know how it goes, Good luck fishing!
Question about the Sebile..I was looking at them on line used and wonder can you tell the difference between a slow sinking or fast sinking just by their looks or are they marked?Saw where most recommend the slow sinker and the 228 size.
@@catchingzzzsoutdoors1872 thanks..I am trying to pick out a rod for the canal and am torn between a fast action or moderate fast..Looking at Tsunami trophy ll in the 11’ 2-6 ounce fast..Would fast action be too soft for the current if throwing the heavy jigs.?
Honestly we use the cheaper brands of split ring pliers that can be found in every tackle shop. The important part is making sure the lip on the end of the pliers is small enough for the size split rings you are using. Bigger rings may be easier with bigger pliers
Casting is always an issue with these lures. Try and focus on technique rather than power. Getting the lure to fly out straight (tail first) rather than sideways is the key to improving your distance using the magic swimmers.
There are better segregated swimbaits which have the same or even better action and cast further...just try different ones than the magic swimmer style. I found some that work and cast great
@@jessegraham1004 I found those in a local shop. when Im home and remember I will have a look for u bud. Just try and reply to this again please so that I have a new notification in case I forget. Magic swimmer casts like a shoe haha

Title: "we gonna modify your lures!"
Actual video: *man changes hooks*
Do Local tackle shops modify these in the canal area?Hate to buy a bunch of the supplies for 1 lure.
You may find some lures with some mods at local tackle shops but from my experience I haven’t had too much luck with finding them.
Can you use a swivel with a 4/0 hook on the belly of the magic swimmer
Just order the ghost white fast sinking.
Are you still using them are they as affective as 2017 that was the best year for fishing

They should be marked on the underside of the tail with the size number and Letter for floating, fast sinking, slow sinking, etc.

Does it matter on the single hook on the rear of any plug whether it's facing up or down?
If the single hook is facing up we find the hookup rate is better
What do you recommend for split ring pliers. I can barley open a spro size 6 150 lb to fit a 7/0 decoy inline single hook.

@@catchingzzzsoutdoors1872 thanks bud! I ended up getting the large green handle Texas pliers.
Any tips on casting ? These things throw like boots i have a 4 1/2 oz swimmer and cant throw it nearly as far as my other plugs
