"humans before 2023" i really love this game with all of my heart and want nothing more than for it to succeed but they have to make good on promises and listen to community feedback or it will slowly die off. i'll always love the game, and i do have sympathy for the devs, but the only reason i continue to play is because of the many great people you meet while playing
Been waiting for a video like this Orni, as it seems anyone who dares question that Isle is going down a bad path gets immediately silenced. I had the isle since it was released, and ever since the game came out, I have been waiting for humans. We were promised playable tribals, cannibals, and mercenaries year after year, and nothing came of them. And again, the same pattern as before, humans are going to be added for a few months to mess around on, and then they will rip them from the game again and say they are 'working' on them, and we wont see them for another year. I always tell people, never trust a dev's word. things can do south so easily with a game especially a game like isle, where they randomly introduced evirma and plan to remove legacy entirely, and also made hypos, nueros, magna's, and now they are apparently being ripped from the game entirely, even the concepts. The isle rn feels like a train without brakes, but its going at the speed of a snail and theyre basically saying "dw guys we're going somewhere! i just dont know when and where."
Also, a lot of stuff on the gateway stress test was taken out so there were no spoilers. There could be nesting grounds, and there are lots of things that are taken out.
I’m almost impressed. The devs of The Isle have managed to lower the community’s expectations of them to such a degree that they can get away with adding like 4 - 5 half baked features (the next update of which will just end up being a balance patch) every 6 or so months and have people be satisfied.
As for the camera-lock point, I made this exact argument in their general-feedback channel. Currently it has 65 up-ratings. It's one of those integral but small details they must add to put an edge over Carnivores.
Heyyy, welcome back! I actually like the legacy nigh vision, it has a nice spook factor. But the one in evrima just feels weak in comparison. I really enjoyed evrima pre update 3, but since then, I barely can stand the game anymore. And when one wonders why....well back then night vision wasn't a thing, tracking things was easier, there was dryo ai....and cliffs of doom were rare and the map was easier to navigate. It was playable.
we need a big dino roster and a night vision with which you can see colour. and the ability to zoom out. a higher player cap on official servers would be great too, especially with gateway, a bigger map, coming soon (soon in isle devs time, meaning about 400 years)
last time i saw your sub count it was on 997 or something, you have almost doubled that in a tiny time, im glad more people are realising how amazing your content is. :)
I’d say every reasonable person would do better than that, no need to be a programmer or an engineer to test something a decent amount of times before publishing changes, and since they have 8 months between updates they could’ve done a whole statistical study of combat and which creature survives/“wins” in each situation with dev tests, different skilled player tests, stress tests and feedback. I don’t really understand why the devs behave in such ways, are they not intelligent or are they being held hostage? A true mystery
I stopped playing the Isle or more like taking a break from the game because there's no new playable dinos and also the server lags/glitches are a pain.
Stego got buffed, Deino got buffed, Carno got buffed, Pachy got buffed Utah got nerfed, Teno got nerfed, Dryo got nerfed, Ptera got nerfed Playing Utah or Teno is just rage inducing and or heartstopping because you pretty much have to stay away from carnos (ESPECIALLY SUB CARNOS, sub carno is now pretty much stronger than full adult Carno) at all costs unless you have a very large and/or skilled group, pretty much impossible to dodge a carno ram no matter what you are. Sub Deino is also broken, they have insane stam and speed on land, at this point, Hypsi is more fun to play than the rest of the roster for me. The lighting is bugged out like crazy, shadows are super dark, and the areas in direct sunlight are extremely bright. This is the longest YT comment i have ever written... PS missed your awesome content and hope to chat again soon!

Hey man I drank a half or a full bottle of just whiskey one time felt great for a minute and then blacked out for the rest of the night and then had a terrible hangover sooo yeah! Make sure to drink responsibly and drink tons of water and whether or not your of age or under make sure your in a safe environment and with trusted friends if you do decide to drink some hard liquor.

Orni did you see the Bryan stream we got a glimpse of the most basic of basic Pachyrhino models, glad to see something even if is the smallest speck. Its seems to be at the same progression stage a Diabloceratops so they my come as a 'Specialisation' update just a assumption (specialise in bone break).

There’s actually a pachy bug that’s gotten me killed two or three times and it’s when sometimes the charged head butt is used you’ll just be stuck standing there, you can’t move and are completely open to attack. I’ve died to carnos, small Deinos and other pachys because of this
I’ve mentioned this before more extensively on shiftyvees channel (although some aspects were very out there) but with the devs so persistent on adding in humans but without anything to interact with. They are literally just able to walk around the map but that’s it, so why don’t we use this opportunity add a concept for a human faction that is essentially just feral humans. They would be an alternative to tribals (if they are still including them) that would be more lore fitting as I don’t think the company behind evrima is ethical for obvious reasons and seeing some emancipated human chasing you in the dark as a mercenary would fit the horror theme nicely. This would also be the isle but very fucking hard mode due to you know being alongside dinosaurs. There if you want to bring humans without any shit to do just do that and just reuse the model for when you add more stuff for mercenaries to do other than being meals on wheels for any carnivore.
I should mention that I mean feral being like animalistic, so like crawling around like an animal alongside walking upright. Just being a very bottom tier omnivore.
@@Orni-Mega-LonyxI would imagine this could be an alternative to them as adding both might not be the best idea from how similar they are but at the same time I remember dondi saying in a stream that the cannibals were like similar in size to the naavi from avatar (although that was a long time ago so I don’t exactly remember) so if they are that tall then they could play potentially different roles in that the animalistic humans are just fodderish but still bring horror in existential themes to the game while cannibals are also much more dangerous and can wipe out an entire platoon making them more gameplay oriented in the horror aspect. You could also use both saying that the experiment involving those wild humans gave them the concept for making the cannibals which would make it more forgiving from a lore standpoint as to why they are similar.
It makes me sad seeing the Isle go down this path, from a game that started a genre to being in this state now. I remember following it since 2015 and when the hope trailer dropped I thought it was going to be the next step in making it even better, but now in retrospect it feels like it has gone dowhill with no brakes. Even tho I like the other two dino survival games in general, it would be sad to see the first one become the definite worst out of the bunch.

And while yes game development is hard what was presented in the update shouldn’t even have took a MOST a month or two! Cause first off gore is a model switch from meat chunks with the dietary code slap on each one! Every dinosaur has the same bone anatomy but they turned up the scale or lowers it per dinosaur! The hardest parts of this update was likely making the whole rotting system and also if any of you played a game or installed a mod where there is “realistic digging” that is basically what they did when you bite or eat a body.. best example I can think of is that wild savanna Roblox game and in it you can play as a wart hog and it slowly can dig and make dents in the terrain.
Here’s my biggest issue with evrima, the fact that carno is the largest land carni and no offense to carno players but least give us a semi large dino like acro to at least fill in the gab in the missing apex slot and something that could actually make crocs cautious when attacking vs only needing to worry about stegos

Ye gateway is still only in testing, so they might add them little bit later on. As for dinosaurs, someone I don't remember who, but one of the devs confirmed that troodon and beipi would come now/soon and after them, gallimimus and ceratosaurus would follow right after them and currently there were streams of ceratosaurus animations and few other dinosaurs.

@@Orni-Mega-Lonyx that's fair, another suggestion was talked about, that if beipi were to come along side troodon on up 6.5, which I would say it probably won't, bc in order for that to happen, they will need to release gateways which is still in progress, dunno how much is to be implemented or fixed and so on, but I'd imagine is quite a bit, so Troodon will come, follow by gateways with beipi and then hard work on update 7 will begin, aswell as keeping the map updated and working on the other dinos.
as for the camera lock, it caters to carnos heavily, they already have almost silent footsteps and no one can look around while eating so carnos get a free ram in completely uncontested. If they want the camera lock it needs to be slightly more lenient like shown in the pic you put in the video. Dont let us do a full 360 but something like 270 or whatever would be perfect, or shit even 180 would be better
i played update 6, they ruined the balance, the gore system is nice and the new diet system is ok. No new dinos for update 6, so that sucked, hopefully the devs fix all this in 6.5. I rate this update 6/10 because they added a new mechanic, but it lacked in dinos and replay ability.
Now that I actually have a laptop can run evrima in 60 and more frames, I'd say it's fun. With a group of friends. For a certain amount of time. On specific servers. For any of you who want advice on if you want to play evrima, i would wait until we get more stuff that people actually want, you know, more dinosaurs for our dinosaur survival game. Hope we get troodon soon, didn't they say that both it and venom are in testing? If so then it might not be too far off. Then again this is the isle we are talking about, a game that's been in development for what...seven years now?
problem with me for that,i dont have people to play with XD, im 99% sure that troodon and venom are in testing but i have a feeling venom will be underwhelming
my biggest complain about update 6 is the lies the devs told us was coming to update 6. that dynamic scars or whatever the fuck it was called, to my understandings was coming to update 6 given the name of the update. "blood and gore". and we still got the same boring looking scars. they talked about migrations like it was a thing in update 6. after the realease or right before update 6 was coming the devs said migrations is something for the gateway map. why the fuck tell us that when update 6 is so damn close to realease when they have been talking like its coming to update 6? Bit ironic that the update is called "blood and gore" when there arent any blood at all in the game. what i do like about the update is the new diet system. i love that as a carnivore you can eat whatever corpse you want and still get nutrients (just have to rip out the organs you want). shame that the diet buffs doesnt realy do real changes. But thats not any excuse for how bad the update actually is
@@Orni-Mega-Lonyx As far as ik, they removed or didn't add the blood thing, bc they feared it may cause huge lag spikes throughout all survers, so they'll add them once they fix those issues, as for the scars, they mentioned that they didn't worked on them, bc they were focused on other projects, but will add them later in game.
"Eyes on sides of head" is a common excuse for people who don't want the mechanic but let's face it, isn't ot more thrilling not being able to see behind you when digging trough food? And yeah right herbivores DO have eyes on the sides of their head but damn so what. This game has got stuff that isn't realistic, yet people keep whining about not being to see behind themselves. I get bored of this game right now after ten minutes. I’ve tried. This game is not worth playing right now the balance changes are so unbelievably stupid that it blows me away that full grown adults better yet, game developers, made this choice and seriously thought it was a good idea.
yeah full servers have been dead because literally every single loser on the server is playing a deino because all the other playables arent viable or just take way to long to grow. Like only way your growing to full adult as a stego is to afk in the jungle bushes. AND then even at adult, its boring cause nothing can kill you. There needs to be a server limit to how many people can spawn in as a Deino.
@@Orni-Mega-Lonyx Im glad someone thinks so. Atleast have a limit on Deino until the roster is larger and theres less of a pull towards playing a Deino. Its also dumb considering they have like no preds, except themselves, and the only reason for that being a thing is simply because theres a lack of playable Carnivores to compete with Deino.
I still don't know how *people actually like the camera lock while eating*, it's literally THE MOST USELESS mechanic they've introduced and only makes it easier for you to waste hours of gameplay just because you couldn't see behind you while filling your stomach
ur not in the minority, literally EVERYONE i have talked to despises the eating/drinking camera lock (which.. what- it isn't even realistic, animals can turn their heads while eating and drinking, and also, they have eyes on the sides of their heads for a reason? like, hello?!)
i heard one of the reasons it was implemented was to stop people from putting their cameras under the water to see deinos coming. idk if this is true or not cus i dont play the game but there's definetly easier ways around that exploit than just making a camera lock.

This update is just so disappointing... They literally added nothing to the gameplay and really only fucked up the balance, it's just boring. I'm having so much fun playing Beast of Bermuda right now, they're adding a lot of updates with a lot of new content in a short amount of time, the gameplay doesn't get boring and the balance is quite good. The Isle is just nothing against that right now. I just don't bother playing it cause it's so damn boring. Growing, which is like 50% of the gameplay of most people, is just content less. I'm really losing hope for The Isle...

If they want the camera lock it needs to be slightly more lenient like shown in the pic you put in the video. Dont let us do a full 360 but something like 270 or whatever would be perfect, or shit even 180 would be better

i played update 6, they ruined the balance, the gore system is nice and the new diet system is ok. No new dinos for update 6, so that sucked, hopefully the devs fix all this in 6.5. I rate this update 6/10 because they added a new mechanic, but it lacked in dinos and replay ability.

Now that I actually have a laptop can run evrima in 60 and more frames, I'd say it's fun. With a group of friends. For a certain amount of time. On specific servers. For any of you who want advice on if you want to play evrima, i would wait until we get more stuff that people actually want, you know, more dinosaurs for our dinosaur survival game. Hope we get troodon soon, didn't they say that both it and venom are in testing? If so then it might not be too far off. Then again this is the isle we are talking about, a game that's been in development for what...seven years now?
problem with me for that,i dont have people to play with XD, im 99% sure that troodon and venom are in testing but i have a feeling venom will be underwhelming

my biggest complain about update 6 is the lies the devs told us was coming to update 6. that dynamic scars or whatever the fuck it was called, to my understandings was coming to update 6 given the name of the update. "blood and gore". and we still got the same boring looking scars. they talked about migrations like it was a thing in update 6. after the realease or right before update 6 was coming the devs said migrations is something for the gateway map. why the fuck tell us that when update 6 is so damn close to realease when they have been talking like its coming to update 6? Bit ironic that the update is called "blood and gore" when there arent any blood at all in the game. what i do like about the update is the new diet system. i love that as a carnivore you can eat whatever corpse you want and still get nutrients (just have to rip out the organs you want). shame that the diet buffs doesnt realy do real changes. But thats not any excuse for how bad the update actually is

@@Orni-Mega-Lonyx As far as ik, they removed or didn't add the blood thing, bc they feared it may cause huge lag spikes throughout all survers, so they'll add them once they fix those issues, as for the scars, they mentioned that they didn't worked on them, bc they were focused on other projects, but will add them later in game.
"Eyes on sides of head" is a common excuse for people who don't want the mechanic but let's face it, isn't ot more thrilling not being able to see behind you when digging trough food? And yeah right herbivores DO have eyes on the sides of their head but damn so what.
This game has got stuff that isn't realistic, yet people keep whining about not being to see behind themselves.

I get bored of this game right now after ten minutes. I’ve tried. This game is not worth playing right now the balance changes are so unbelievably stupid that it blows me away that full grown adults better yet, game developers, made this choice and seriously thought it was a good idea.
yeah full servers have been dead because literally every single loser on the server is playing a deino because all the other playables arent viable or just take way to long to grow. Like only way your growing to full adult as a stego is to afk in the jungle bushes. AND then even at adult, its boring cause nothing can kill you. There needs to be a server limit to how many people can spawn in as a Deino.

@@Orni-Mega-Lonyx Im glad someone thinks so. Atleast have a limit on Deino until the roster is larger and theres less of a pull towards playing a Deino. Its also dumb considering they have like no preds, except themselves, and the only reason for that being a thing is simply because theres a lack of playable Carnivores to compete with Deino.

ur not in the minority, literally EVERYONE i have talked to despises the eating/drinking camera lock (which.. what- it isn't even realistic, animals can turn their heads while eating and drinking, and also, they have eyes on the sides of their heads for a reason? like, hello?!)
i heard one of the reasons it was implemented was to stop people from putting their cameras under the water to see deinos coming. idk if this is true or not cus i dont play the game but there's definetly easier ways around that exploit than just making a camera lock.

This update is just so disappointing... They literally added nothing to the gameplay and really only fucked up the balance, it's just boring. I'm having so much fun playing Beast of Bermuda right now, they're adding a lot of updates with a lot of new content in a short amount of time, the gameplay doesn't get boring and the balance is quite good. The Isle is just nothing against that right now. I just don't bother playing it cause it's so damn boring. Growing, which is like 50% of the gameplay of most people, is just content less. I'm really losing hope for The Isle...
