Ah, first person for Dinosaurs because it's realistic, yea I mean yea true it is realistic, but counterpoint; real animals have the ability to feel their bodies, so unless they are planning on creating the technology to turn The Isle into fucking sword art online where we put on a headset that transfers our consciousness to the body of the digital dinosaur we are playing to the point that we can feel and control the body as if it's our own, then no, because if I'm playing a T.Rex and someone bites the tip of my tail which is 12 meters away from my eyes, realistically I'd be able to know without seeing it and then react violently because it would hurt like hell.

and then remember...they would have to alter EVERYY...SINGLE...POV...every dino and creature would have a different field of view and the devs would have to alter that...and as reptiles they all have their eyes on the side of the heads...so even allo or tyranno with forward facing eyes...still have them on either side of their head and thus have a wider FOV than modern day counter parts like lions and tigers...so for the devs to have to alter every single creatures individual eye sight would be more immense than the undertaking they've already been in...also not to mention if they're going this far are they going to make dinos like anky really blind? is my vision going to be permanently blurred or extremely short sighted? they want to make it realistic but where is the line drawn...and how would this actually add to overall gameplay in the first place...with the way it is now you see more or less how the dino sees with the exception of the rest of you dino in the same frame...you cant see that far behind you until you turn the camera around...why is this change even necessitated? just seems like a grab like a politician saying " we're not going to raise taxes" to win votes...and then not do the thing they said anyways

We can already get a similar camera view by scrolling in. It's good for indoor environments, getting a closer look at things, & trying to not run off a cliff in dense foliage. But I don't want that close-up camera view 24/7 D:

The new camera makes no sense when dondi himself said that dinosaurs have to be in third person when humans are added. If they go thru with this camera design, then humans surely can't exist in this game, bc they would have a field day blowing a stegos head off with it not being able to see the human.

(not to sound rude but) personally when someone I watch kinda often goes on hiatus or stops uploading for a bit I just genuinely don't care/notice until they come back or until I remember them. That probably applies to most of your audience (casual isle players) so don't sweat it too bad when you're gone without warning. Especially if it isn't six months to literally a year.

I'll add to the Megalania that it also happens to come in with the Mutation system and Dondi did say that some mutations will allow some dinosaurs to have different Visions aside from Night-vision. If we follow this pattern, like Komodo Dragons, I do believe Megalania will have thermal infrared vision instead of night-vision by default.
This is why just in terms of development convenience Megalania makes the most sense to be the secret Dino after Maia. (Venom, Swimming, Climbing and now visions)
If the devs will add this new camera system i will definitly stop playing the isle forever.

Luckily for the camera thing the reception on the discord and in the comments on RUclips videos for it has been very negative, and as this seemed more of a concept than a planned feature I’m fairly hopeful that it won’t get added. But if Dondi does it anyway I’m out.

I hope the secret species in megalania! It will add something new and be unique/add new systems.
No matter what happens in the isle someone will hat, and hell that is in every game. All we can do as a community, and what the devs can do, is to have a open mind and see things from different angels. So that means not adding something because a majority of the player base wants that but what seems most reasonable and practical. Unfortunately we have a high ranking dev *cough cough wink wink* that takes and puts their ideas first and can't take criticism, and that is honestly disappointing.
Mmm aslong as you don't keep over for the community completely, or else you might aswell quit the job.

I think the mystery dinosaur is allosaurus personally because of what dondi said in a stream discussing allo a while back.
1) I hate the chuffing on cera its fucking annoying it should only activated via me pressing a button liek me pressing 3 call near a body like theirs legit no need for it.
2) i want first person when i zoom in not camra fov. I want it optional too so i cam chose to go first person.

I'd like to post what the devs put on their Devblog. Turns out they're gonna absolutely ignore their community and add the camera changes afterall. Are we really surprised??
Anyways, here's the first quote from the recent Devblog if you haven't seen it yet, by Ariel:
"The plan is to bring the player's perspective closer to that of the dinosaur and provide a better sense of scale. I experimented with different setups to have all the functionality we need while keeping it easy to configure and smooth to use. In the end I got the general system working, but it still needs to be 'set up for each dinosaur and some of their unique mechanics as well'."
Oh! Here's another sample I came across. Get a load of what else was said!! From KissenKitten:
"There's been some promising developments on the new camera work. We can bring the perspective in even more than initially anticipated so we can really slip you into the skin of your animal. Your feet are going to be touching the ground now which should create a much more immersive experience. Ok for the mystery pliable I think I should be 💯 megalania because they all ready have all other adaptations for Megalania like you said swimming, climbing, and venom but I will say this it probably won’t be the mystery pliable because it would probably be much harder making a different venom for it and it would also be the first one to give adolescence or juveniles the ability to climb and not giving it to the adults but i still like Megalania do😊

But I do want to say some things about the new camera engle (I hate it) first of, how would I suppose to appreciate my dinosaur with that or my skin or the amazing animations I just don't understand. That was the point of this game in the first place to experience a dinosaur lifestyle as much as possible, well we'll see hehe.

heres a pitch, swamp magy, magy could survive by using the water to slow down fast terrestrial prey or you could just go for a swim to escape say an allo, and magy could easily just run onto land when something big like a dienosuchus comes

I really like the camera Idea (if implemented well).. but I get how and why people don't like it. I just hope they add it as an option for servers to turn off/on so everyone can be happy.

I'm not a fan of the first person view at all! Now - if it was an option that you could quickly switch to in the middle of combat to better aim and lead your attacks then yeah, I'd be cool with that but, permanently being stuck in a first person camera is awful. Path of Titans does a similar thing where by scrolling on the scroll wheel your camera zooms in and out and you can zoom so far in that you're basically over the shoulder of your creature and it does help in certain situations but - like I said, having the ability to choose first or third person I think is better than locking you to either.

I get the whole point with why Hera should nest in the trees bc it makes sense. But the way I see it, it is like how sloths could just poop while up in the trees, but no! Instead they climb all the way down to do it.

I don't remember Dilo ever being the same speed as Carno, it's 47kmph and irrc it's been that way since relase, it is pretty damn fast but not Carno fast.

For example, a realism sever if you want to feel like a dinosaur sure have the option for people who like it. And for pvp severs admins have the option to keep the original camera setting for pvp players.

Dilo's posture doesn't fit its behavior or mechanics at all. It looks like it had a seizure after its father brought spoiled milk and was traumatized eversince. It's truly awkward to look at and distract me from admiring the Dilophosaurus. Fix its wrist position as if it were clapping, and lower its head a little bit. Maybe have it snarl or growl softly in its idle animation. With these adjustments, I believe it'd look far more approachable, tolerable, and less distracting from the animal's overall vibe and what it's concept art/game mechanics/design was going for.

I often fail to understand how people can feel the need to stand with one and only decision when we're literally free and allowed to take multiple. What i mean is that devs could very easily give us the OPTION of either choosing the default camera or front view camera, after all this ISN'T a game mechanic, this is a feature that doesn't affect other players, it has to do only with you and it dictates only YOUR play style, so why would they feel the need to sacrifice the needs and wishes of one party? The freedom you have on your own visual field doesn't interfere with other players' freedom, so why can't these two things coexist? I prefer the current camera as opposed to first person but i understand that just like i might prefer something, other people might need something else, and we're so fucking lucky to see that these two wishes DON'T EVEN GO AGAINST EACH OTHER, so why shouldn't devs bring them both to the game??

I really wanted to start playing this game (besides watching yt videos) but with the way people complain so much im pretty sure it may not be worth the money. Feel free to correct me if im wrong.
I’d say generally it is. But at the moment I’d wait and just see how a few things pan out before buying it right now. Give it a few more updates then make a decision
I got some more idea predictions for the isle devs:
Increase growth times to 2 days at the minimum
decrease AI spawns and player counts (I mean I, dondi went to the forest and didnt see many animals duh)
Make more deathtraps on the map and call them intentional not bad map design
Decrease health regeneration by 90%
Make wounds have permanent effects, like breaking your leg once will make you a cripple for the entire playthrough (just manage your damage? Like whats the issue?)
Make the game 60$ (Its the best quality in the genre guys, cmon)
Finally, someone's mentioned how odd Dilo's posture is. it is so stiff. Falls flat when compared with Legacy dilo's animations.

id say mystery dino is likely a mid tier, they brought in the big apexes and small and mid tiers are fine. so prob a mid tier, and they got an abelisaurid and also a mean ceratosaurus. gotta be a mid sized tyrannosaur or herbivore, but with so many mid sized herbis i doubt it

I think the 20 fps is more of a problem than the chuffing

Herbivores can see like 300 degrees arround them anyways
i don't think that it's realistic anyways, like some animals have eyes on the sides of their heads, not on the front, a stego has it's eyes on the sides and he should be albe to see things that are on his side, and not that it can only see what's infront of it

'First person camera good because realism!!' My dudes...sometimes you need to sacrifice some realism for the sake of fun gameplay. Just because it's 'rEaLIStIc' doesn't mean it's good! I would absolutely HATE it if I logged into a game where I could be an awesome dinosaur, only to spend all of my gameplay just staring at the back of its' head. I wanna see it moving around in the environment in third person!! And like you said, the hell is the point of making skins if we can't even SEE what they look like? Horrid idea, -100/10.

The branch also continued, well, not sure if that one specifically but one of such responses were commented by Felipe and he said that camera like that certainly would not be implemented at all. Idk if it was staged, kinda seemed like that but that is because Im a bit paranoid already.. In another commentary section below one YT video was response form another dev and they said the camera is meant to be much more like somewhere behind the root of a tail but with alterations for each playable. Basically zoomed in to the point a player cannot see ankles of dino but still almost the whole body (I personally play with camera like that all the time but in case of teno or stego, idk. Max zoom out is very useful there.) I still think that the drama was absolutely pointless and unnecessary. We do not even have a final iteration of the cam yet and ppl already started verbal cancer of the highest caliber I´ve ever witnessed in the community so far.

I agree the camera stuff is soooo stupid and I think the number one worst idea doni has ever had, I think that chuff for cera should be much quieter for hatching/juvis. But I think the spino looks stupid in my honest opinion I know the game isn’t going for accuracy but I think it is to over the top. Great video man cant wait for more!!!
