    Do you moisten the mix before you start?. Hi Mrs M🙋🏼‍♀️

      Hi Kim :) We have our mix outside, so it depends on if we have had rain recently and it moistens the potting mix. Most of the time the mix is dry, which I prefer, as I can put leaves into the mix straight away :D I hope that helps.

    When you head chop an echeveria, do you cut the entire rosette and just leave the stalk? Will it really sprout multiple new rosettes from the top? It feels a bit scary to chop the head off of my beautiful plant.

    Serious question. I am leaving for about a week. Road trip to Arizona from California. Would I be wise to take my seedling lithops and succulent seedlings with me? My smartest stepdaughter is suppose to feed dogs and water plants but while I love the girls let's just say thank goodness they are pretty. I am afraid she will kill em and I finally got potential plants.

      Hi Steve, thanks for your message. If your very worried about them not surviving, I would probably take them with you 🙂 it might put your mind at ease and help you enjoy your road trip 🙂 safe travels! 👍

    What is the percentage of your shade cloth? 20% 30% 40% 50% 60% I don't know what percentages they have available. What's better white or green? Thanks in advance.😊🌵

    How do you repot lilacina without damaging the powdery coating on the leaves?

    I use cotton or tooth floss to behead my succulents, I find you can reach between the leaves really easily without damaging the head or leaves. If needed I tidy up with secateurs after.
    I have propagated many succulents in both a mix or water, heads & leaves but every time I try with my Echeveria lilacina the leaves rot. I have a couple of them and they are healthy. I would love to hear any suggestions on why/what I am doing wrong? I follow the same practice I do with all my other succulents, I'd love to get some success.

      Yes tooth floss or fishing line works really well too :) They may be getting a bit too wet the leaves. Try them in a mix and keep them a bit drier and see how you go :)

    That neon breaker is spectacular! How old would the huge one be? Do you have a trick for keeping mealybugs away from leaf propagation? Mine always get attacked before long and I have given up on propagation this way. Also, do you have a special mix you use for leaf props?

    • @mickssucculents
      @mickssucculents  3 года назад

      Thank you :) The Neon Breaker would be about 3 years old. If you find mealy bug on your leaf prop, I would just use a 50/50 isopropyl alcohol and water mixture and see how that goes in treating any mealy bug. I just use my potting mix for our leaf prop and cuttings.

    Sea salt? Like regular cooking salt? 🧂

      Haha no definitely not salt! 🤣 Seasol is a liquid soil conditioner made out of seaweed and compost. Its great for root development.
