Living in Canada, this video is super important to help me decide if riding an ebike is feasible in the winter. Looks like it handles it fairly well. I might splurge and get some studded fat tires for extra traction. Good video. Thanks
The original Aventure has been my daily commuter for over two years living here in way north Minnesota. It handles the snow really well if as you say you air down to about 10 psi. I haven't wreaked but a few times I scared the crap outta myself sliding sideways. Ride On!
Call me crazy I tried my friend Lectric in about 5” maybe a bit more. It had no problems except that it was a bit chilly. My guess is these bikes can change the way folks go to work. Chris Hayes from MSNBC did a video saying the He tried an E Bike and was hooked. He now rides everyday when the weather permits. He could Take a limo But now he rides …
Thats cool you gave it a shot, they are totally capable of many different weathe rconditions for sure. Ebikes will definitely change the way people get around, cool to hear about Chris Hayes
About early-mid 2021 I got that Swytch kit for my commuter/hybrid hard tail. The wonderful thing about riding in the snow is that it is front wheel drive, so technically we’ve got a 2x2 bike. It definitely makes a difference in snowy/icy condition with only 2.1x29 in low/mid gears and variable assist levels. Again, it’s a Frankenbike I built from the ground up with no proprietary parts, but it’s astonishingly great in snow for central IL (:
We didn't notice a ton of battery decrease on this ride, we only went a few miles. But the cold will most likely affect the battery a bit. Also the softness of the snow since you have more resistance from the snow on the tires. Overall still did well.
Bill, I have noticed it does make a difference lithium doesnt like the cold. My guess about a 25% loss riding in 35 degrees. I live in Connecticut. Been using a friends Lectric it’s really changed my life. Now to figure out how to get one…

Studded tires would definitely help with the grip!

Nice! Fun and capable bike for sure.
This is amazing. Hitting 20mph in the snow, you crazy guy! Super sick tho, squirrely steering can make for some fun times!
Awesome. Beautiful place to ride. You review is a big help.
Glad it was helpful!

Nice! The 2x2 prob helps a lot in the snow, good to have that front hub motor pull instead up push. Maybe you can get chains for those tires 😀
Looks fun and cold! more snow drifts
Will bring a 6 pack of GoPro batteries next time.
Wow more then I thought an Ebike could do !
Would you reccomend buying studded tires for this bike?
Coolest part was seeing you ride past skiers 😂 🚴 ⛷️
Was fun to see them out there!
Great ride.
👌
do you think level 2 commuter is suitable for snowy roads (all flat, no hills)?
I'm guessing the cold really isn't great conditions for the battery.
It will drain it a bit quicker, but nothing worse then that.
nice ride

I’ve had great cs from Aventon.
nice to winter riding. how does that decrease battery life? 3:01

What helmet are you wearing?
Strap a small cut off ski sled on the front tire. See what that would do.
That could be fun.
