    The Aventure.2 is my first ebike and it has exceeded all my expectations. I've put 2000 miles on it in 12 months. I'm age 70, 290 lbs. and easily get 40 miles per charge. The fenders are aluminum, NOT steel. The turn signals self cancel in 15 seconds and it also has brake lights. There is a USB port on the display that will charge a phone. I've added the front rack, different grips, handlebar phone mount, Suntory suspension seat post, Cloud 9 seat, Rockbros pannier bag, Meachow bar end mirror, 203mm brake rotors and have a spare battery. One flat front tire from a very large thorn. Pressure is kept around 17 psi all the time. Occasionally I haul about 80 lbs in a 2 wheel trailer. I wish it had and electric horn.

    I, too, like torque sensors. However, I find that on mid-drive bikes with a cadence sensor, because the motor can take advantage of the gears combined with the PA levels, you get a lot more control, say, over a cadence/hub motor setup, where the motor is independent of the gears altogether. A torque sensor with a mid-drive motor is the most advantageous in most situations, but not all.

    • @ElectricBikeReview
      @ElectricBikeReview  10 дней назад

      That's a great point, and it's worth considering how the motor and sensor system interacts with the gearing on different bikes! Thanks for sharing! -Mike

    2:28 pm Today a few videos was watched trying to get an understanding of the e-bike. This was the best video of them all. The bike was virtually disassembled for us, we were told where every piece belongs and what it does and doesn’t do. If this video had been the first one watched, a lot of time would have been bette4 spent. 👊🏾😁🌹

    The turn signals automatically turn off, no need to hit the switch again to shut the signal off.
    I've had my Aventure2 for a year. Functionally, it has met all my performance expectations. The only thing I don't like about it is the requirement to use a smartphone to unlock the bike to Class 3. I'd prefer it be done by going in and just changing from 2 to 3 in menu screens, like most other brands do. And Aventon is rumored to be able to download software/firmware? to your bike. I don't like that my preferences in settings could be overridden by that, such as switching me back to Class 2, when I take the bike in for service (which I haven't needed to do yet) .
    I only ride in good weather, so I haven't yet seen how far I can max out range on a battery charge ... but I got 44 miles on my initial battery charge after purchase, using throttle a lot on hilly terrain in my area, and also seeing how fast I could get it to go, out and back to/from my destinations.
    Being close to 70 years old, I am compromising with the torque sensor. My legs are not as strong as they once were, so I'd prefer cadence sensor but the Aventure2 came with upgrades over the Aventure1 that I didn't want to give up, so I bought the 2. I've noticed that my speed with torque sensor oscillates up and down constantly because my pedaling is not consistently inputting the same torque to the pedals. That would not be the case with cadence. I don't ride this ebike for exercise, I ride to do errands and leave my car at home. With all the hilly terrain here, I'd definitely be better off with cadence. But I'll do the best I can with what I've still got.
    The rattle heard in your off-road riding I suspect is the kick-stand. I have no rattles ever on my bike, even when I'm on rough pavement a lot.
    You didn't mention Aventon's dealer network. Having that network close-by to my small town, as opposed to dealing with bike shops who don't want to work on brands bought online that they don't sell, was very important to my purchasing decision.

    I bought my Aventon Aventure 2 a little more than a month ago. It performed well on flat land and in the foothills. I took it up to the 3,000 foot elevation level and gradually climbed up a paved mountain for 8 miles. I burned the hub motor up and had to coast or peddle my bike non-assist 8 miles back to my car. It does not perform well on steep climbs. I took it back to the bike store to get a new hub motor and wheel. Good thing it has a 2 year warranty. I only have 74 miles on it. I won’t be taking my bike back up to the mountains. Aventon needs to make an all wheel drive bike.

      These things will get hot if used beyond capacity. They are not idiot proof. But soon I think designers could integrate a cooling system for both motor and battery. All you need is a small coolant flow pump and cooling channel conduits going around motor casing and battery .

      Most of us eBay riders know that the mid drive is the motor that will get you up to steep hills, but the rear hub will not get you up those kind of hills you have to get a mid drive. I lived in Duluth, Minnesota and the Mid is what got me up to steep hills.

    60 is not far if you use it for uber eats an so on as a living since you can easily go closer to 120 miles an day the batteries are 500 bucks allowing you to go 120 miles that makes it an 2500 buck bike as of 8-3-24 as bike seller in store get cost. if you wanted 2 bateries to go close to 200 miles will set you back for around 3 grand an for around 3 grand you can get an annioki dual motor 200 mile ev-bike, or get an 100 mile ish can get you an 35 mps annioki single motor ev for around 1700. other note con of this bike is this is more due to the fast charge speeds are at 2.3 why its not around 1600. a pro note this bike is a snow bike so if you live in an area with lots of snow this a snow city bike.

      The low step is a little less stiff than the high step, but you really only notice it when you load up the rear and front rack. If frame flex is a concern, then go with the high step. Also note: the Aventure 2 is one of the stiffer frames on 4" fat tire e-bikes, at least in our testing.

    You guys who review this bike keep praising the Torque sensor! Having owned the Aventure 1 and the Aventure 2 I can tell that torque sensor is step back not forward! First of the first three settings, Echo, Tour and Sport are useless as they give very little power output. So you might as well keep the Turbo settings on at all time. As compared to the great cadence sensor on the Aventure 1, the Aventure 2 torque sensor makes your legs do a lot of work! Going uphill is a joke as you have work your legs like crazy and trying to get the top speed of 28 you will be pedaling like a crazy person! I believe the Aventure 2 is a fail! And yes, just like on the Aventure 1, the front brake squeals and makes loud noises no matter what you try to do to fix it. It's a design flaw, why was it not fixed for the Aventure 2? Ridiculous!
