7:59 thanks for the video. I have a Polestar 2 long range dual motor also and love it. As far as the adaptive cruise and lane keeping goes, you need the pilot pack to get those goodies. Not sure if you have that. At least that’s the way it is here in the USA.

Pilot pack is standard on all Irish models

I have the P2 LR but with just the single motor and the range is quite a bit better. Over here in the UK I averaged 29.9 kWH per hundred miles over the last 6 months and I'm now seeing 25 kWh per 100 miles as the weather is starting to improve. Biggest problem is the lack of a rear windscreen wiper. The adaptive cruise you need the pilot pack I believe.

A fine choice by you...really like that car! Yeah, didn't realise at the time about the Pilot pack as the button is still there. My personal opinion is that Adapative should be included with a car of this price and quality. Thanks for the comment David and happy motoring!

There is a driver assist package that pole star offers that is auto pilot like.

Whist I really like the look of the P2 I can't help thinking it would be even more practical if it were an estate instead of a fastback. Loads of wasted space back there. Also, no rear wiper is a big demerit in my book.
The efficiency (lack of) is a bit of a pain but I'd forego that for the much better looks over a bland jelly mould Tesla. Not fussed about all those driving aids either because I would never trust them. I have Park Assist on my Skoda Superb estate & have never used it. Lane assist as well which I have disabled. The question is, is the P2 better than the electric Volvo XC 40? Sadly both are too expensive for me to consider, even as used cars, so I will be looking elsewhere.

Hi Colin. I own one of these. While estates are great for a lot of people, I think this car is targeting a different customer. It's a little raised and has more of an SUV stance and driving feel than a traditional sedan or hatchback. The styling of the car has confused a lot of people because it doesn't quite fit into any box. This is because it was originally supposed to be a Volvo and is built on the XC40 platform. You're right about things like lane assist. Personally I don't use any driver aids on the road but the park assist with the aerial view is brilliant and really helps when parking the car. The rear of the car doesn't require a wiper like a traditional hatchback as there is a lip or small boot present and no dirt makes its way from the road onto the back window. In terms of the added space, very few people will buy this as a main family car. It is a perfect second family car to use for commuting or business. The boot is plenty big and has extra space under the floor. There is also a small frunk in the front. The rear seats fit my two kids in car seats perfectly but our ID4 and the likes of your Superb Estate are more suitable cars to transport around the family. That said, the Polestar is a big car and space in the back is more than adequate. I get that estates are kind of a thing at the moment but a lot of people don't want or need that extra space. I bought the standard range single motor version because balanced with the price it offers good range. The dual motor versions like in this video are too expensive in my option and I don't think you get enough range for your money. I travel 160km per day in my standard range single motor version and use 45% of the battery per day. More than adequate for long commuters.

@@pato10111 👍TBF while I love estates as I get older I find getting in & out of "normal" height cars more & more difficult. My wife has a Karoq which I find much easier to swing in & out of so I guess my next car will be a higher riding EV vehicle to replace my lower estate. I do want to have a look at the Polestar in the flesh to see how it fits me & drives. Sadly though I think it will be too expensive for me. I'll be looking to buy a used example which is not that easy since there are no dealers near me & the local Volvo dealer has none. I will also be looking at some alternatives like the Enyaq but I think that will be too expensive as well. Thanks for the info.

@@colingoode3702 yes, I know what you mean about "lower down cars." As I get older I prefer to be higher off the road. I'm not as confident on the road as I was 10 years ago so a higher up car provides better visibility. I ran an A3 saloon for a while and struggled with manoeuvring and generally feeling at one with the car. A standard Polestar after the grant is just over 51k. It's the one I have and has a lot of standard kit. The more expensive versions don't offer much more with Polestar. It's one of the reasons I went with Polestar. An enyaq would be a lot more expensive to be honest, even second hand. There are a few ID4s around at lower prices. It all depends how you want to finance the car I suppose. I'm sure your Superb is worth a fair bit so Spirit would take it in as a trade in for a Polestar as they run Polestar Dublin. You should enquire about used cars if you're interested. While you wouldn't get the grant, Polestar might have some 202s or 221s knocking about. I noticed quite a few in their yard when buying my car. Polestar have a very low PCP rate of 3.9% if that's your thing and they offer three or four year repayment options. It's a lot of car for 51k but I get that it is expensive. That said cars are going up in price so it's all relative. Your superb will probably see a healthy trade in at the moment. Available cars on the polestar website take just under two weeks to be delivered.
