Ballet dancers are hardcore, utmost respect for them
No kidding! Home girl just balanced her entire weight on LITERALLY ONE TOE. How is that even possible???
Get good enough at ballet and I guess gravity is just a matter of opinion!
@@AnIdiotsLantern many, many hours of training, an unbelievable amount of self-discipline, and even then, not every ballet dancer can reach this level. I trained in ballet, beginning at the age of three, until I was sixteen years old.
Mad respect to those who master The Rose Adagio❣️🩰💕
*Ballerinas
@@jihanoski are they called Ballerinas even when male?
Thank you. It’s a lot of very hard work that we go through on a day to day Basis ,only to be told it’s easy and football is harder. I’m glad some non-ballerinas respect the art of bet for what it is.
I’m no ballerina, but that sounds incredibly difficult!
And let’s not forget you have to have beautiful, flawless lines while you do it.
It’s looks painful AF
and painful x.x
@@cakerbaker9965it is 🥲
They are sacrificing their feet , leg ligaments, muscle 's etc, etc as a young person. Which is really sad . That's why you don't see them in their 30, 40, 50's, etc dancing.
Give her a rose as she beats her body up & the rich get richer at these concerts.
Great let her ruin her body, not my daughter's or son.
Too humble! Thank you, Anna-Rose O'Sullivan, Principal, The Royal Ballet!
Being humble is a lovely characteristic. More people should practice it, instead of being annoying, selfish ars*****s!!!!
@annapachaclarke2392 I understand what you are getting at. However, Ms O'Sullivan did not post this short, the Royal Ballet did, and I think the RB should be courteous enough to give due credit to its dancers and at least give their full name and title in the description. What's wrong with, "I'm Anna-Rose O'Sullivan, and I'm a Principal dancer at the Royal Ballet, London".
Ballerinas are both extreme athletes and accomplished artists. Ballet is a lifestyle, a calling, a profession. Ballerinas have my utmost respect and admiration.
It’s difficult staying on pointe on one foot for a few seconds.
Подписываюсь под каждым Вашим словом! Абсолютно с Вами согласна
Они большие труженицы
ABSOLUTELY!!! While spectators "appreciate" what they are seeing, they (we) have no idea the physical challenges they are doing. It's the dichotomy of grace and extreme pain.
Ballet Dancers deserve an Olympic event of their own.👌
God that sounds so painful but looks so nice 😩
It i s painful..👣I prefer and love ballroomdancing with a passionate partner in normal shoes 😅😉😁
looks painful too, especially showing her bare foot
@@ЛераМос yes, right! Her poor foot ...gonna look so janked up when she's older even. Still, it's a magical skill!
Honestly, ballerinas very ugly because of all of this that they go through… seems a bit like torture
@@ЛераМос my toes felt pain when they showed that part. Lol
I'm completely in awe when I see ballerinas dance. All the hours spent rehearsing and it's breath taking
My feet just cramped looking at that
People say that dancers aren’t strong - that dance isn’t a sport. But coming from a dancer, I can truthfully say that in order to dance, you have to be strong. Going en pointe hurts and needs lots of strength. Doing leaps and turns needs strength, core muscles, and good balance. Thank you for showing us how strong ballerina have to be to dance this gorgeous dance!
Anyone who says that have possibly never even done any physical activity at all! In their head, they kid themselves that they could do these physical things! In reality, some struggle to walk anywhere, lol!!
My mom would’ve liked to see this film! She would’ve admired the professional ballet 🩰 dancer! She had trained many a ballet 🩰 dancer in her dance studio.A lot of them ended up as professional teacher’s as well!In honor of my mom,my hat 🎩 goes off to you!👍🎭😊
Anna-Rose, thankyou for taking the time to explain this to people, most will never understand how difficult ballet is. Your work is beautiful ❤
She is a beast, ballerinas are so intensely strong and driven, we see these delicate women like they’re fragile when in fact they’re the opposite.
So much gratitude to these women and men who dedicate their lives to making beautiful for art for those of us who appreciate the magnitude of sacrifice that goes into a production.
I've never seen a Ballarina balance , barefoot! I thought there was more padding in your Ballett slippers? So Beautifully strong, and Amazing! Thank you for sharing your Art! 🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹
I'm recovering from knee surgery and I can barely stand 10 min of balance exercises at once. Huge respect!
The unseen strength of ballerinas. So much respect for all of you.❤
こんな可愛くて綺麗で踊っている姿はとても美しい。その裏で文字通り血の滲む努力があり幾度なく泣いた夜もあるんだろうな…😢❤尊敬します。
The amount of training and sacrifice that goes into such a magnificent performance art!! Respect!!❤
I actually met the amazing principal/ballerina of royal ballet Anna rose O’Sullivan on a private tour of the royal opera house! She was very kind and let me and my friend take a picture with her! One of my best memories as a young ballet dancer! ❤❤❤
wow! you are so lucky!
Ballerinas are amazing fr what they put their bodies through to achieve such grace and beauty is absolutely amazing. And they do it while still looking completely elegant!
Ballet dancers looks so peaceful, calm and so gentle. But we do not know the pain, the patience and the strenght they've gathered along the way to perform such a graceful dance. It's just, wow.
I hold my breath every time I see the Rose Adagio.
I’m an ignorant non ballet person, can someone please tell me if the Rose Adagio (or whatever it’s called 🤷🏼♀️) is named after someone? Is it called that because her name’s Rose? I am honestly & sincerely lost. Please don’t ridicule my ignorance, I am aware of it. Thank you.
I thought her name was princess Auroura
@@paulamcdonald6568It's a coincidence that her name is Rose and the dance is called the “Rose Adagio.” Each of her four suitors hands her a rose, and that is why it's called the “Rose Adagio.”
If it helps, think of the TV show “The Bachelor.” He gives a rose to each woman he is considering but none of them are required to dance as exquisitely as this marvelous prima ballerina🤩
@@sheilabloom6735 I’m the same way with The Dying Swan.
Such beauty, strength and grace. That’s after years of training and dedication. I’m in complete awe. Beautiful ❤❤❤❤❤
She is beautiful✨😍
I know she is
It is indeed beautiful but look at the toll it appears to have had on your poor foot.
she's still young too...
To me it makes it even more beautiful, imperfections tell us where we have been, what we do and who we are. I wish I couldve had the money to have an opportunity to continue training when I was a teen and seeing this doesnt change the way I feel!
They sacrifice their feet to their sport. That’s what it cost to appear like you’re floating with no effort. Reminds me of the original Ariel, where she had beautiful legs but each step felt like knives twisting in her feet. ‘Effortless’ beauty has a price.
No dancers here I’m guessing. Her feet are gorgeously arched-this is the line all dancers work toward
@@rprice7921 her arch is beautiful but the bunion is rough and may eventually require surgery.
Oh Thank You, Thank You for all of your very hard ballet work. Take great care of yourself. This is extreme stress on so many levels and you also have to keep smiling!!!?
Beautiful Anna Rose!!
That tutu is gorgeous
The sacrifices of a female Ballerina is just commendable and well applauded !!!. This is your passion and thank you for sharing your life to all of us !!!.
Ah, this takes me back to my ballerina days. I still do ballet, just not professionally due to my advanced age. You tend to pay for doing it later in life, but to me it’s worth it.
Would you please tell how is it that a ballerina pays? In your experiense, if possible, please.
@@cutehollygolightly Ballerinas feet are completely ruined and you really suffer.
Yes, I trained in ballet from the age of three, until I was sixteen. My poor feet are having flashbacks of toe just watching this, but I would not take back one second of it❣️🩰💕
I wanted to add to my comment. To this day, if I point my toes too hard, I get an immediate Charlie horse in my calf muscle lol.
@@cutehollygolightly You basically have injured toes, ruptured ligaments, most of the times very badly injured knees and pretty bad back pain. The thing with ballet is, while you’re young and healthy you don’t notice all of it, but once you became older, all the pain from knee and toe restraints and thigh stretches that went too far will come back. Plus, most ballerinas also have mental health problems and such due to strict teachers and intense training. I was always told that any professional athlete has some sort of injuries related to their activities and it applies to ballerinas as well, unfortunately.
Incredible. Dancers are the most coordinated and strong athletes ever
I saw her in performance in Sleeping Beauty, she is such a great ballerina, a joy to see her dancing
Beautiful girl. I ❤️ ballet
My big toe is screaming just watching this. The level of pure strength these ladies have is unreal
I have a ticket to see this ballet at ROH in May- really looking forward to it 💕
These girls are amazing!!!
Definitely do not try this at home 😅 Ballerinas are so incredibly strong Jesus, they have all all my admiration ❤ I wish someday I can go to see at least the nutcracker, jewels and sleeping beauty, or Alice in wonderland at the royal opera house 😭
It takes years to master pointe, let alone this position
The music of "The Nutcracker" is from another space. I had the greatest pleasure to watch and listen to it two times around Christmas a couple of months ago. I hadn't watched it before and concidered it as a huge miss. The two performances were incredible, I was crying with tears and was feeling so indescribable. Later I watched the other two ballets by Pyotr Tchaikovsky - "Sleeping Beauty" and "Swanlake" - and they all are nothing less than masterpieces, but "The Nutracker" wins my heart undoubtedly. Every music lover should watch it live by all means.
Tchaikovsky was beyond genius. His compositions are the best of the best in classical music genre.
Respect to all the ballerinas out there❤️ we see your hard work and appreciate it💕
I love that she uses square toe shoes (as opposed to the pointed toe), part of the reason she can endure what she’s talking about. Definitely helps. The ones that come to a point? I don’t know how anyone dances in those at all, but some ballerinas prefer them. My guess is, one reason is how they look to the audience. More delicate, too, some people think these are boxy. Also, the pointed shoes are the original type of toe shoe from the 1800s. I wouldn’t care, these shoes would be just fine! I like the look of these better anyway, as a dancer and as an observer.
Beautiful, absolutely gorgeous elegant dancing. I miss doing ballet
I remember doing Ballet as a youngster. Absolutely loved it. It helped me getting into gymnastics. As a 5 year old I was learning French pretty fast 😂
Huge respect and admiration. The reach to do this is unbelievable dedication
As someone who loves ballet, but knows only bare ba disc, this was both interesting h educational…😊!
THANK YOU!
Wow!! My foot cramped up just watching this!! Amazing skill and strength!! Her calves are amazing!! 💪🏼
I can see signs of injuries that didn’t have enough time to heal… poor feet… poor body.
It’s a beautiful sport and you are so stunning and strong, young lady. Shine all your might as you make us believe it’s all so easy and effortless.
This person isnt a doctor, disregard their sad life.
I was a violin and knitter just this past winter, and I saw Aurora do this on stage. It’s crazy to think she could do this!
You can tell how much strongness she has not only in her foot but in her entire body, even if you don't know anything about ballet just like me. Love and respect❤
Strength, not strongness
My mom was a dancer so she read anything about them in older age. She read something , years ago, that the average professional dancer has 7 broken bones and they're still dancing!
She's so lovely! Tough, too!❤
I watched the Sleeping Beauty in Stuttgart last year and this seemed so "easy" and in no way as hard as it looks when it's actually explained. Now i'm even more in awe at how simple and weightless the ballerina made it seem!
So beautiful to watch and so much talent 🩰
So schön danke für diese Erklärung
Unbelievably beautiful! A lifetime of work….with stunning results! Wow. Just wow!
this made me feel so much better about my arch
Thanks for sharing your experience ! It's amazing
Look at those calves - years of sore muscles, strenuous rehearsals, strains, sprains, and please know the deepest gratitude of mine being sent to you for your on-going endurance! BRAVO Precious Baby! And I'm using the term "Baby" as the Dearest form of tender affection for your constant dedication to your craft! ❤
A feeling like no other. Shooting pain through joints, tendons, and muscles. With a possibly broken foot bone. Ballerinas are participating in an extreme sport while dancing.
Discomfort is acceptable. If there is pain, there is a problem that needs to be addressed.
Much RESPECT to you. I had to go to the hospital just watching you. Both of my legs cramped and stayed and I'm not even a ballerina at all.
As much as I am very amazed on how arched their feet can get, it kinda made my foot hurt because of how *arched* it really is 😅
And so humble! My goodness how beautifully humble! ❤
Ummm....Can WE PLEASE get a bun tutorial??? Lookit that perfect height? 🥺😍😍😍😍
GOD BLESS YOUR STRENGTH & BEAUTY, WHICH IS YOUR LIFE ❣️ TRULY APPRECIATED ❣️❣️
Always wondered how many times have they broken their toes 💀
no clue but from what ive heard a lot of them just adapt to it and end up losing like entire toenails
Look up “ballerina feet” on Google. Some are pretty scary. Lots of blisters and bandaids. Hers are pretty nice. Ballerinas tend to sprain and break ankles more than toes. Lots of pressure on the ankle and you are making it do things it would never ever do, so that weakens it.
I haven't known any to have broken toes. Strains or pulls are more likely to happen.
Broken toes make no sense for how ballet is danced. More common injuries are calf strains, achilles tendonitis, etc. Soft tissue damage and things like bunions, not so much broken bones. Those can be minimized with proper stretching/warming up and technique; when a ballet dancer dances en pointe, injuries can be minimized by not starting too young before the foot is done developing (around 12/13), good foot care, and properly fitted shoes.
Ballerina's are tough along being beautiful to watch! They have beautiful lines!❤
Society: Men are stronger than women
Ballerinas: lifts entire body weight onto 1 toe
Respect
Such divine and elegant skill❣️👏🏻👏🏻🙌🏻😌💐 ("Sleeping Beauty" is one of my absolute favourites!🥰)
AND you have to look like it's EFFORTLESS! Crazy!
She’s so lovely and sweet sounding. And from what she’s describing, she’s a powerhouse!
I guess that after some time they will suffer from many foot problems.
You are so adorable and thank you for this interesting fact❤🎉
This just doesn't look healthy ^^"
Wow good thing they put that at the beginning of the dance. She’s awesome.
:) alles nicht so einfach wie es aussieht
Love this. She is adorable!!!
Parabéns graças ao esforço e sacrifício de vocês, temos os maiores espetáculos de ballet do 🌎. 👏👏👏👏👏👏❤❤❤❤❤❤
So beautiful inside and out!! 😊
💕
Such a beautiful dance 🥰
A feeling like no other? Intense pain? I think people should try learning ballet at home 😌 however I don’t think pointe is actually healthy for anyone.
Oh my gosh, all I could think of when you supported your entire body weight on that toe was “OUCH”!! Well done!! Such strength and beauty.
Jesus is the way, the truth and the life!!🫶✨️✝️
Yes he is
AMEN
It's so fascinating how they can make something so painful seem so delicate. We see the pretty ballet dancers and we don't even think about how their feet must be hurting. Ballet dancers will always have my admiration. I did ballet for 13 years (I'm 19 so that's most of my life lol) but never felt good enough and stopped because of my very low self-esteem, but I wish I had continued. It was my dream and I gave up :(
But I still enjoy watching those beautiful and hardworking ballet dancers do their amazing jobs. This will forever be so special to me
No thank you
You are gorgeous ♥️💐♥️I will do anything to watch you perform in real life ♥️💐♥️most enchanting and beautiful ballet dancer ♥️💐♥️
Wow. Thanks for explaining. Good luck!
You are a spectacular rose ! My 97 year old mother was a ballerina in Germany long long time ago ! Now her 3 year old great granddaughter is taking ballet . Bravo 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Thank you for using your God-given talent to bring such beauty into this world! Much respect.
That sounds so daunting. But hats off to you for overcoming your nerves and pulling it off especially infront of an audience
Love how you can see the imprint of the shoes haha...all the hard work
That sounds so painful but it's so beautiful! I love the music so much also
Ive seen sleeping beauty ballet live before... it was beautifully done! And it was insane
I have a great respect and admiration for the ballet performers.
❤
Literally working our every muscle in that few minutes. I hold my breath every I see a ballerina performing this. Always hoping she pulls through like a boss.
i feel the pain but you make it look so beautiful 🥰
Beautiful absolutely beautiful I miss doing ballet
Pretty sure everyone's picture of a Ballerina in our heads, is this beautiful lady come to life! You are absolutely breathtaking 😍 💖
i don't know how that's even physically possible 😮😮 ... amazing strength & skill 🩰
I now have thought about it and am surprised. Standing on 1 toe, you humbly say..."it is challenging" I agree. Cheers Charlie Peace.
Ballet Dancers are beauty in motion. It’s not about the looks as it is their hard work, and graceful movements. Their abilities to endure the pain of the dance is to be respected
This is the most difficult and terrifying moment of any big classical ballet.
I LOVE BALLARINAS, I LOVE ANY DANCE PERIODand I APPLAUD YOU ALL 🩰🩰🩰
