It translates to madness of two. Two mentally ill people sharing the same delusions. My take is the sets, outfits and musical numbers take place in their minds. Escaping reality and using music to try and make sense of their issues, I think it's going to be fantastic.
Harley's backstory in the original animated show was honestly already really dark and gritty. The follow up, Mad Love, from that series is straight up a story of domestic abuse that ends with the incredibly dark note that no matter how much she wants to; Harley mentally can't escape the grip he has on her. Assuming the version of Harley in this movie is actually Harley, and I think it's possible she's just in Joker's head, I hope they don't lose the abusive angle of their dynamic. The last thing I want to see is the Hot Topic version of Harley and Joker that portrays them as actual soul mates.
Not gonna lie, I had no interest in seeing this when I heard there were musical elements. And Harley as a patient instead of his doctor? I didn't like it. But seeing this trailer... maaaaaan. The pure artistry won me over. This is an alternate universe where Joker and Harley are perfect matches for each other and it's beautiful and it's scary and I CANT WAIT TO GO SEE IT
I’m not quite in on this one. Is she a doctor? She seems like a patient. Then she lives in his building? I think she’s a hallucination. Also, why do her movies have singing? Yes, she’s a singer. Do all of Zendaya’s movies have singing? I liked what Phoenix was doing, of course. They seemed to give her all of his mannerisms, even the ones no one else saw. Kind of hints at her being a hallucination. Maybe a comment on how many people just copied his mannerisms and style after the movie. Some even saying he was right (get this in your head. THE JOKER IS NEVER RIGHT. HE’S CRAZY) Could be his psychiatrist manifested in his mind into Harley. I’m not fully on board with this like I was with the first one. From the first trailer to the end of the movie, I was in. This one isn’t doing that for me right now. I don’t like Lady Gaga, her music, her symbolism, or her movies. I don’t care what anyone else says, that stupid dancing movie that almost got an Oscar because some douche called the wrong name for some dumb reason (maybe on purpose, Moonlight actually won) and A Star Is Born (obvious occult reference) are absolutely terrible movies with terrible music meant for simpletons. Like The Greatest Showman. Bunch of lies in that one on top of being bad cinema. P.T. Barnum was a terrible human. Do some research before you celebrate a monster. It is a prejudice against her, but I haven’t been wrong yet.
THe cinematography looks amazing, artful. And I love trailers like this cause it makes me want to watch it without giving me the whole movie. I think this movie is going to be a roller coaster
If ya read the deadline articles no one has hid the fact that this is a JUKEBOX style musical movie. Are they singing? Maybe. But are they full fledged LES MIS this shit? No. Its songs we know that go with the film. Easy to understand really.
Jay's explanation is the best I have ever heard on how we feel. Like we do have to accept this dark journey and our enjoyment of it which makes us question ourselves.
I think the first Joker movie and now its sequel are a perfect example of how Comic book characters can be uniquely interesting outside of big star studded action sequences. I am undoubtedly burned out on Comic book movies but this feels so far from that genre that I’m hooked to see it in theaters
I'm going to guess some of that is paying Joaquin Phoenix and Lady Gaga a truckload of money. I'm also guessing the music rights were probably very expensive.
As a Canadian I must say the French spoken is cute That being said this sequel trailer hints at a fun trip the director and crew will be taking us on The Joker a musical ? Sign me up! The whole point of the Joker and why the character resonates so strongly is that his reality is our fantasy That's the truth of it We are all one bad day from his chaos
Assuming half of this will be all in his head. Hope people enjoy this, though personally found the first movie super depressing so no interest in seeing something like that again.

It is a prejudice against her, but I haven’t been wrong yet.
it’s a movie, it’s not that serious.
@@TheeWandaStan I’m sorry. Don’t you mean “Why so serious?”
@@ChoiceEnvironments missed opportunity 😭😭
It looks like if you smashed The Joker with LaLa Land; and if that’s what they’re doing, then I am here for it! Lol
You want to hate it. And it's going to be spectacular. Its Joker. Its Harley. It's going to be psychologically intense. And I'm here for it.
It's a teaser it's not meant to give away the movie. But it looks incredible and it's probably going to be amazing
THe cinematography looks amazing, artful. And I love trailers like this cause it makes me want to watch it without giving me the whole movie. I think this movie is going to be a roller coaster
Joker with that white suits was pure perfection ❤
I cant get over how edgelord some of the "madness" aspects come off for me to take it seriously lol
Great reaction guys !
Jay & Adam left speechless again lol.
These guys were speechless after watching the trailer.
These two are marvel Stan's.
Their brains can't handle art... just fart jokes.
gonna tell my kids this was GA GA LAND
If ya read the deadline articles no one has hid the fact that this is a JUKEBOX style musical movie. Are they singing? Maybe. But are they full fledged LES MIS this shit? No. Its songs we know that go with the film. Easy to understand really.
"Beautiful"
A fractured mind is a terrible thing to waste.
Love the trailer and your reaction. Peace!
Jay's explanation is the best I have ever heard on how we feel. Like we do have to accept this dark journey and our enjoyment of it which makes us question ourselves.
My heart melted! So hyped for this. They’re gonna be phenomenal in this
If you understand the name of the movie and you remember how first movie was, then You already can guess the movie plot Somewhat...
As a fan of cinema, how can you not be totally in after that trailer. I mean that as a general question. I now have 5 must see films this year.
Me quedé en silencio con ustedes, de verdad es una joya. Saludos desde 🇲🇽
I think the first Joker movie and now its sequel are a perfect example of how Comic book characters can be uniquely interesting outside of big star studded action sequences. I am undoubtedly burned out on Comic book movies but this feels so far from that genre that I’m hooked to see it in theaters
I think it looks great and if you ever need a musical then this dark film, could be the best watch
Curious to find out how the production budget alone went from $60-70m on the first movie to $200m for this sequel?!
I'm going to guess some of that is paying Joaquin Phoenix and Lady Gaga a truckload of money. I'm also guessing the music rights were probably very expensive.
@@agentsculder2451 That would explain a $30-40m jump, but a $130-140m jump ex marketing?!
They want the same actors after the immense success of the first one? Gonna cost them more.

As a Canadian I must say the French spoken is cute
That being said this sequel trailer hints at a fun trip the director and crew will be taking us on
The Joker a musical ? Sign me up! The whole point of the Joker and why the character resonates so strongly is that his reality is our fantasy
That's the truth of it
We are all one bad day from his chaos
It's a profound silence, one of retrospect, and analyzation, totally understood.
A good sequel for a lightning in a bottle, maybe? Could it be possible to make good movies again?
Listen, I hate musicals. But this looks... weirdly different. And I'm here for it.
Sure, it could fail. But I enjoy the risk taking.
This Harley will probably be more like the telltale version
Assuming half of this will be all in his head.
Hope people enjoy this, though personally found the first movie super depressing so no interest in seeing something like that again.
a). i started singing "Folies Bergère" from NINE. b). i watched this trailer a GOOD few times c). i legit think Harley's going to kill Arthur in the end of it all [like that shot in her red outfit going up the court stairs]. i'm ready.
It’s JAY and ADAM and it’s fcking previewed!!! And we fcking love them!!
Looks awesome to me
I AM SO STOKED FOR THISSSSS
Adam's final pronunciation: "Fully a Dew" 👍
So they made me watch the teaser for this before
I got to watch the reaction for the teaser for this. Thanks RUclips
Jay might not speak French, but he sure does look like he eats a lot of French fries lol
I've seen this described as "Demented Lala Land"
I wonder if Bruce Wayne makes a cameo in this and sings "I am Blue" 😏
