Wonder why Silverbacks don’t allow children to ride on their backs? I have only seen mothers, aunts and siblings allow it.
I think DJ will be the first Silverback! There is a troop at the Toronga zoo and the Silverback let’s his kids slide on his back. Over and over😊
In the wild, it would be incredibly dangerous.
@@kimberleymorrison4781 there was actually a silverback in the wild (a very famous one I wish I could remember his name) who adopted a baby who’s mom died I believe. He carried the baby on his back. Unfortunately, he got sick & died too. The young gorilla wouldn’t leave him while he was dying. 😢

Jabali just loves his daddy! I think Ringo is still afraid of his dad. This will probably change in time. So fun to watch the babies play with each other and to see Jabali play with dad.

this is the first time i saw the female let their cub play freely with silverback. not gonna happen if it's genki or momoko.
It always shocks me that the mothers aren't even watching over them while they are with him. Most mother gorillas hover and wait to interfere but both his mates really trust him.
It’s just a matter of time before Jabali is riding on DJ’s back! Dad will give in eventually and that will be a great sight!🫡😁
D’Jeeco doesn’t mind wearing Jabali as a hat but draws the line at wearing him as a backpack. Love watching this family. 🙋♀️🦍🇬🇧
