Have your test results ever shown low TSH? What caused it? And what helped you to support better outcomes? Looking forward to hearing about your experiences and your thoughts! -Dr. Brad
I have TSH levels very low .004, but my T3 is elevated and my T4 is normal 1.28... I have a slightly elevated heart rate, but I don't have jitters, bulging eyes, and I'm 5'10" at 168lbs my doctor wants to put me on meds... I heard lifestyle change can be very helpful... What are your thoughts sir?
This is again very timely. I have struggled to know what's really going on, as my tsh levels have been suppressed, and I often feel hyper, but still experience the hypo symptoms. Will be so good to get some real answers and a new plan of action. 👍
Hi Devonne, as I mentioned, it's common to have this odd mixture of symptoms. This is why it's important to get our immune system more stable, which then can give us a clearer picture of what we need to support!
I got diagnosed with hashimotos a few months ago after a few years of symptoms which have got worse over time and I requested having my antibodies checked after googling my symptoms. Surprise, I have positive tpo and ana antibodies but "normal" tsh however its on the very low end of normal. My doctor will not test my t3 or t4 as they keep saying your tsh is normal. I've got a constant battle with them as I keep going back saying I feel ill please help but they keep saying it's health anxiety 🤷♀️ despite the antibodies. I've got so much more information from your videos than the doctor as they text me my results and said we will check your tsh in a year and that's it absolutely no help at all. Thank you for all these amazing videos 😊
Hi Haybee, I'm really sorry to hear about your struggles with your doctor! That sort of stuff happens way too often and it's a horrible approach when you're feeling so poorly. Antibodies can contribute to symptoms even when our TSH is normal and I don't know why more doctors don't recognize that. I'm glad the videos have been helpful though! Wishing you thr best with everything and reach out if you have any questions!
Hi doc!my tsh is 0.05 and doesn't change in years even if i take methimazole..my t3 and t4 are in normal range..my doctor say just keep on taking methimazole..what category do i belong?hyper or hashimoto?thanks.
Hi! Thanks so much for your kindness and generosity! I'm really glad to hear the information has been helpful. Please reach out if you have any questions!
Hi Ellie, I'm really glad to hear that! If you have confusion on something specifically just let me know and I'll do my best to answer it for you. Thanks for the feedback!
Thank you for sharing this information Dr My TSH is 0.01and T4andT3 is in high normal range I am not taking any medication. This problem just started in about 7 months. What do you think? Thank
I have graves and a tsh with 0.01 for the last two years even when taking 5mg of methimazole for the first year and the last year I’ve taken 15mg and than down to 12.5mg. My endocrinologist is about to retire and as far as I can tell ever since I’ve been seeing him he’s been more focused on that than his actual patients and my left eye is bulging out so hard I literally can’t even take pictures let alone see anyone because everytime i look in the mirror or my phone camera turns to me I literally want to cry. Im not a girl and I ain’t no little boy but I can’t believe this has happened to me without any real help I just get to see my endocrinologist once in person in two years and 3 times a year if im lucky over the phone
I was hyperthroid so I took the radioactive iodine, that was 25 years ago. Right now my TSH is low and my T4 is in the extreme end of normal, almost into the high range. I take 112 mcg Synthroid.
But was confusing is low is high and high is low, I wish more doctors or people talking about thyroid would say this, like I'm 0.21 so I'm hyperthyroid which is high, if you're below 3.0 you are low actually if I was that low I would fall asleep. 2 is optimal. And they mark my blood work at the high end low and at the low end high and it's really confusing.
You give great info on the thyroid. My thyroid was removed due to nodules which turned out not to be cancerous. Since that time i have worked to regulate my thyroid and try to feel better. Recently i told my DR that is felt sluggish and asked him to increase it which he did. I take NDT. After taking it for 3 months along with Berberine, i recently experienced a problem getting a deep breath while i was playing tennis. My interest tested it and found it was low .01. So I stopped taking the additional 30mg to see if my breath would improve. It has a bit but not perfect. Have you ever heard of someone with thyroid issues not being able to get their deep breath?

By the way Hashimoto diagnosed theroid gland scarred and almost gone, had a neckhernia operation between C6-C7 frontal that is where complications started (was already familiar with low theroid and on Thyrax meds). Now I also took Cytomel T3 had few great months but nowadays back to gain weight, terrible sleep, fatique
Have ablated thyroid for 30 years. Normal T4 levels, and usually low T3. Poor conversion. Antibodies are fine. My TSH is always low when I am medicated. Twice taken off meds, TSH 49! No doc has had an answer.
TSH is .03. The last 7 readings were all flagged as being low. Just prescribed propranolol. I have nodules, he ssid I don't have Graves, but symptoms are similar. Can propranolol normalize my readings? Or is he treating symptoms only?
what would cause the a "flare up" in a Hashimoto patient? I'm going through this right now, but I am avoiding all the things that cause TPO antibodies to raise.
My 25 yr old son was diagnosed with hypothyroidism and put on levothyroxine, he suffered for 10 months with extreme fatigue even though bloods came back normal he stayed symptomatic, he had heart palpatations and was unable to work or do any exercise which left him with low moods, he decided to go holistic route and stopped taking levothyroxine 2 weeks ago, his bloods now show tsh 0.009 with high t3 he has went from hypo to hyper, this is so confusing and i feel helpless watching him struggle, im hoping once levothyroxine leaves his system his tsh levels will increase and his thyroid heals naturally, any help or advice will be most welcome, we are getting desperate, levothyroxine made him feel horrendous and he does not want to take it ever again...
I was left on levothyroxine for 3 months after my thyroid labs returned to normal. I felt fine except for trouble sleeping. After several months medicine free, I returned to normal levels. 6 years later I have normal/high hyperthyroidism. Hope you son is stabilized by now.
hello doc i have a quite below normal of tsh but normal ft3 and ft4 but my doctor diagnose graves disease and he wants me to get back in methimazole and he wants me to choose permanent cure which is by rai and TT but i refused it...please read my lab doc
Hi there, obviously I can't speak to your situation specifically, but I've spoken with people who have had success just using the medication and not needing to do the radioactive iodine. I'd ask your doctor why they feel that approach is best and get a second opinion if necessary. Good luck with everything! I hope you can feel better soon!
my TSH is below the normal range (0.19 uIU/mL), Free T4 and T3 Levels are normal, no Thyroid Antibodies detected, and ultrasound shows a normal thyroid scan, I'm confused about what can cause low TSH. Interestingly I also have low LUTEINIZING HORMONE (0.5) and low Testosterone levels (200) . Not sure if there is any connection there.
Hi Anna, that would certainly be flagged as lab low according to the standard ranges. You'll want to follow up with your doctor and take a look at the rest of your thyroid markers and symptoms to determine what's going on there!
Thanks so much for sharing Brad. My TSH has been low for a while. Last time it was 0.16 Listening to your video now I'm wondering if this could this be the reason I had a tachycardia event recently, and ended up in hospital for a few days. I'm seeing a cardiologist who specializes in the electrics of the heart in a few days time.
My naturopath diagnosed me with secondary hypothyroidism recently (low T4, T3, TSH), continuing symptoms of hypothyroidism, been on meds for over a year and was trying to see if I could come off - what are the next steps to determine the root cause? MRI?
Hi! It is very unlikely that MRI would demonstrate any sort of pathology unless there was a significant trauma leading to your symptoms. In my practice, we do a neurological exam and extensive history paperwork to determine potential causes. Although it would nice to be able to do imagining in these situations, it simply doesn't provide the value or have the sensitivity that we need.
Hello there, i have normal exams, but my temperature when i wake up is always 34.9c - 35.1c never higher then that. TSH 1.89 - T4 0.98 - free T3 0.31 - TPO Ok What exams should i ask my doctor to see if i have autoimmune issues, Brain related problems?

Hi Laury, thanks for the question! Propranolol is a beta blocker. It's job is to slow your heart rate to reduce risk of beating too hard or fast, which will also lower your blood pressure. This will not affect your thyroid markers, it is only to manage symptoms.
@@DrBradBodle Thank you so much for the reply. I have lost weight, maybe because of the nervous energy. Should I ask my internist for thyroid specific medication in addition to that? My blood pressure has always been on the low side of normal, and I have classic hyperthyroid symptoms. I thought regulating the markers would address symptoms?

My TSH level was declining though im not taking any medicines after Total Thyroidectomy and my RAI therapy was getting postponed .
Endocrinologist said taking T3 will suppress TSH.
