Try talking about intersex people (particularly andogen insensitivity, that'll blow his idea of gender out of the water), all the different cultures in the world both now and in the past that have had 3rd genders and gender fluidity etc., the fact trans female athletes do not out-perform cis female athletes and the evidence that trans women have never had to be denied access to womens spaces because there's no evidence that they're threat to them. For that one meme about LGB rights and women’s rights, let me paint you a picture. There is a neighborhood full of houses, one of them is on fire. When the firemen come to hose down the house, all the other houses that aren’t in fire want to be sprayed. Of course LGB and women’s rights are still being neglected but trans rights have just been realized as a legitimate issue.
Honestly true, and it's not even that! It's like there are 3 houses on fire in the neighborhood, but one is much bigger at the moment and needs more attention. Saying “lesbians can’t have kids” is actually not true. I remember reading a news article in 2019 where a lesbian couple was able to have a child that shared both their DNA, a procedure that was previously only able to be done in a lab.

It's funny, people who study human remains do regularly find that context clues can reveal that a person whose bones appear to be female actually took on a male/masculine social role in their society and its practices. They may also find the person was referred to as a man in historical texts or other things. Whether the historian respects that and refers to the person as a man or not though is another question.

In regards to the last one, I do vaguely recall some archeologist articles discussing the discovery mummified remains of humans whose bone structure suggested they were born one gender, but their burial ritual they've undergone suggested they were treated as a different gender. Or the historical records on the person exclusively refer to them in a different gender. In either case, that would provide evidence that human civilization has acknowledged and respected trans people for centuries if not millennia.

I've been living with my sister and her boyfriend for a month and just came back home this Friday. I've been home exactly 25 minutes and my father was already being transphobic. They can't have babies, but are still women. Or in my case, I had to have a hysterectomy/double Oophorectomy because I had a medical condition called Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome or *PCOS* PLUS I had Fibrocystic disease in my breasts... My mom said that I’m not allowed to take hormones because it would kill my brain cells. I told her that that’s not how it works and she told me that she meant becoming a boy would make me dumber. Who’s gonna tell her I’m already a boy? Hormones just help my body reflect that. It would make me feel a lot more comfortable in my own skin. She also said I would die if I got surgery and that I’m still discovering myself. She thinks it’s okay to misgender me because she’s my family and can dictate my gender. I’ve tried to tell her that I’m a boy so many times but she just won’t listen and every time it ends in me crying and her saying “I’m on your side, I love you no matter what” but that’s clearly not the case. She also doesn’t believe that non binary is a valid identity and people who use neopronouns just want attention. She also said I was too old to come out as trans and I should’ve known earlier.
My favourite thing about the last one is that I study archaeology and I’ve had to study gender and sexuality in my courses. I remember learning about the remains of an individual and the characteristics of the remains suggest that they were male but this society had different burial practices for men and women and this individual was buried the same way they buried the women, so one could infer that they were trans and their community treated them according to their identity!
The last one is really baffling because there are, in fact, cases of like "well, this skeleton is AMAB, but is buried with garb that women wore in this culture and rituals matching a female burial" where the archaeologists can tell that it's a trans person. They don't, but they can.

I love the argument about trans people in sports because I, a trans athlete who races in my assigned gender at birth, still sometimes races against men. Do you know how much it affects me in my race? Not at all
This is actually a very hard topic. Growing up with the male hormonal profile gives you a life-long effects on how your muscles are build. And while HRT gives results according to the hormones a person’s taking (better or worst muscle growth, strength and so on) it’s not quite the same as growing up having this hormones in crucial stages of muscle and skeleton development. This is why cis women with hyperandrogenism (too much male hormones) are all over elite power sports. This was shown statistically on every group: cis women with female-typical hormone levels, cis women with male-typical hormone levels and people on hormone replacement therapy (both trans women and cis men). So while I 100% support trans rights, it’s not as easy as “just let everybody compete in a group they are identifying with”. It’s a biological crucial boost, especially in strength-based sports. Or a disadvantage for trans men. It’s not easy, there’s just no quick answer about what we should do.

This is about high performance sports where every kilo or milisecond is crucial for a golden medal. I'm not saying trans people should never compete. I'm saynig that with up to date info about hormones and HRT scemes - there's no easy answer about sports and who can and can not compete in every individual sport.

For that one meme about LGB rights and women’s rights, let me paint you a picture. There is a neighborhood full of houses, one of them is on fire. When the firemen come to hose down the house, all the other houses that aren’t in fire want to be sprayed. Of course LGB and women’s rights are still being neglected but trans rights have just been realized as a legitimate issue.
Honestly true, and it's not even that! It's like there are 3 houses on fire in the neighborhood, but one is much bigger at the moment and needs more attention. LUCKILY, there are more than enough fire trucks to have some assigned to each house! The issues arent mutually exclusive and you don't have to stop fighting for women's or LGB rights to help T rights, one just needs a little more attention at the moment!

Saying “lesbians can’t have kids” is actually not true. I remember reading a news article in 2019 where a lesbian couple was able to have a child that shared both their DNA, a procedure that was previously only able to be done in a lab.

It's funny, people who study human remains do regularly find that context clues can reveal that a person whose bones appear to be female actually took on a male/masculine social role in their society and its practices. They may also find the person was referred to as a man in historical texts or other things. Whether the historian respects that and refers to the person as a man or not though is another question.
Yeah, bone structure is not the first, last, and only word in remains identification. Bad assumptions about bone structure have actually hindered some investigations.

In regards to the last one,
I do vaguely recall some archeologist articles discussing the discovery mummified remains of humans whose bone structure suggested they were born one gender, but their burial ritual they've undergone suggested they were treated as a different gender. Or the historical records on the person exclusively refer to them in a different gender. In either case, that would provide evidence that human civilization has acknowledged and respected trans people for centuries if not millennia.
Yes. The fact that there were trans people (who were respected and buried as their true gender) going back so far is VERY important; it completely destroys the idea that "trans is made up and has only existed for a few decades."

I've been living with my sister and her boyfriend for a month and just came back home this Friday. I've been home exactly 25 minutes and my father was already being transphobic. I cried in the shower (closeted aroace enby here). In that moment I realised how freed I felt living with my sister and why I've been so down being at home. It also explains why I almost never want to return home from somewhere. Sure I have a loving family, I'm not suffering - except they disregard my entire existence and I can never be honest with them. They love their cis straight daughter that is ~normal~ and has no problems w/ mental health. 🙃

Or in my case, I had to have a hysterectomy/double Oophorectomy because I had a medical condition called Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome or *PCOS* PLUS I had Fibrocystic disease in my breasts...

My mom said that I’m not allowed to take hormones because it would kill my brain cells. I told her that that’s not how it works and she told me that she meant becoming a boy would make me dumber. Who’s gonna tell her I’m already a boy? Hormones just help my body reflect that. It would make me feel a lot more comfortable in my own skin. She also said I would die if I got surgery and that I’m still discovering myself. She thinks it’s okay to misgender me because she’s my family and can dictate my gender. I’ve tried to tell her that I’m a boy so many times but she just won’t listen and every time it ends in me crying and her saying “I’m on your side, I love you no matter what” but that’s clearly not the case. She also doesn’t believe that non binary is a valid identity and people who use neopronouns just want attention. She also said I was too old to come out as trans and I should’ve known earlier.

My favourite thing about the last one is that I study archaeology and I’ve had to study gender and sexuality in my courses. I remember learning about the remains of an individual and the characteristics of the remains suggest that they were male but this society had different burial practices for men and women and this individual was buried the same way they buried the women, so one could infer that they were trans and their community treated them according to their identity!
The last one is really baffling because there are, in fact, cases of like "well, this skeleton is AMAB, but is buried with garb that women wore in this culture and rituals matching a female burial" where the archaeologists can tell that it's a trans person. They don't, but they can.

I was watching this 3 days ago as I got my first shot of Testosterone because Jammidodger has been such an inspiration to me and genuinely the first youtuber I ever found and how I even started to recognize my own dysphoria. Thank you so much for existing, and helping me for the past several years without even knowing I exist. (Plus you helped distract from my phobia of shots)
I love the argument about trans people in sports because I, a trans athlete who races in my assigned gender at birth, still sometimes races against men. Do you know how much it affects me in my race? Not at all

This is actually a very hard topic. Growing up with the male hormonal profile gives you a life-long effects on how your muscles are build. And while HRT gives results according to the hormones a person’s taking (better or worst muscle growth, strength and so on) it’s not quite the same as growing up having this hormones in crucial stages of muscle and skeleton development. This is why cis women with hyperandrogenism (too much male hormones) are all over elite power sports.
This was shown statistically on every group: cis women with female-typical hormone levels, cis women with male-typical hormone levels and people on hormone replacement therapy (both trans women and cis men).
So while I 100% support trans rights, it’s not as easy as “just let everybody compete in a group they are identifying with”. It’s a biological crucial boost, especially in strength-based sports. Or a disadvantage for trans men.
It’s not easy, there’s just no quick answer about what we should do.

@Katerina Sytnik, I used to take karate, classes were only separated by belt rank (aka skill), not gender, or even age (except for the little kids, they had their own class) I was 10 and there was a grown woman in one of my classes, no one ever complained lmao
@@cam-rs4qi again - there are numerous studies that show differences of men and women in strength performance after puberty. This is about high performance sports where every kilo or milisecond is crucial for a golden medal.
I'm not saying trans people should never compete. I'm saynig that with up to date info about hormones and HRT scemes - there's no easy answer about sports and who can and can not compete in every individual sport.
I recently watched a video on how to avoid bad similes in your writing. One of them was that your simile has to make sense. The coffee and penis one would've been a great example of how it should not be done
