The context in which the ring argument is used. Rodgers can’t be in those Brady mahomes debates cause he hasn’t been able to replicate what he did way back when. Shannahan is a young coach who has struggled to take that final step but is one of the best young coaches in history.

I’m a Niner fan, they lost with Jimmy, lost with Brock, I don’t see what’s changing to make them win a Super Bowl. I’ve been hearing about this being the most talented roster for 3+ years. At some point soon, the window is closing. Players are getting older and can’t count the GM to replace All Pro talent at all the positions they have it at now. I hope I’m wrong but probably be hearing excuses as to why they don’t win it all again this year.

Patrick Mahomes and KC are a dynasty right now. In the last 5 years, nobody not named Tom Brady has beat them (other than Cinci in the 2021 AFCCG in OT)
49ers are as well built as any team from top to bottom. And Brock Purdy is a massive upgrade over Jimmy G. He's only 24.

@saint Sounds like u didnt watch the SB's. Jimmy and Brock dont play defense. The 9ers were ahead late in both SB's. Maybe the defense can start preventing Mahomes comebacks by not going into prevent defenses and giving him everything underneath to advance the ball. They hold him down all game and then they go to prevent defenses like idiots to give him the games.
@@theejayzeeable I watched both Super Bowls. It’s always someone else’s fault never the Qb or the Head Coach for this team. The defense held a top 2 or 3 Qb of all time for most of the game to mediocre play. The offense with this genius head coach needs to put up more points. In Brock’s own words all he had to do was throw the ball to an open Aiyuk on third down instead of forcing it to Jennings and the game is basically over.
All respect to Joy and Speak, but Acho is such an excellent facilitator. Huge loss for Speak. Great show, fellas.

There are teams that come and go in the Playoffs, and then you've got those teams that basically always make the Playoffs, especially when healthy. The point they are clearly making, is if they can make the Playoffs, they've got a punch chance just like GB had and Lions had when they proved they were legit last year and made it, and will probably continue to do so when healthy. Shanahan was already Playoff and SB bound before the 49ers, and now he's doing the same thing with the 49ers. Expect the same from coaches like Jim Harbaugh and his brother as well, it's gonna happen.

Reaching the bowl ain't no small feat when you consider Dan Marino, one of the best qb's of all-time, went to super bowl in either his first or 2nd season with MIA & lost. But because he went soo early Marino thought he'd definitely be back at some point in his career. He had a long career and NEVER sniffed the super bowl again.

The media said it was super bowl or bust last year and my response was what does that mean? There's no scenario where it's "bust", that means a reset, a rebuild, firing GMs and head coaches, because your window is closed and you need to start from scratch. If you don't put that weight on the bust side of the equation, it's meaningless.
Now, what needs to happen for Jed York to say enough, time to start from scratch? Missing the playoffs with no injury excuses? That would make it playoffs or bust and even then, depending on how it goes down they might not do a major shakeup. If they moved on from Kyle they'd just watching be the next Andy Reid with some other team.

Can't believe this, but Shady is right about the Jets as well. They have the longest playoff drought in American sports. Putting them on that list of teams who can think "we're going to the big game" right now, makes no sense. If they make a conference championship game they'll need to look at it as a huge step forward, just like the Lions last year, and not as a bust.
If Saleh can't lead them to the playoffs again this year, they'll probably move on from this coaching staff. If they get close but don't make it to a Super Bowl, they'll try to run it back.

The 49ers have the MOST cap room right now. And they are going to carry it over to next year to offset much of the contract that Purdy will be up for. They aren’t going to have the salary cap casualties that people expect.

Aaron Rogers is to old and he’s not like Tom Brady. Aaron doesn’t move like he use to and is slow. So if you can get him off his first check down put pressure on him he will make mistakes. I don’t see Aaron finishing 17 games and will be injured again. Jets don’t have a chance and will be a joke again in 2024.
