The modest "it's alright" translates in my book to "My goodness me thats some pretty welding, what a nice job I just did." Thanks very much for sharing.
The Guy who taught me to weld and got me through my coding back in the 80's was the same.. His highest praise to me was 'it'll do'... to him it was either right or it wasn't....
It’s a true professional that see his first attempt will not work and can figure out the best way to make a perfect end result nice job injoy watching your videos
I don't think I have ever commented on one of your videos, but I make sure I watch them all. You Sir are a master at what you do! I truly enjoy your videos and your approach to your work.
You had me laughing when the two of you were talking with your hands. That’s how my wife says I talk all the time. You sir are a true professional. Thanks for sharing.
I think a rig tour as well as a vid on why/when to switch welding processes would be awesome. From what I’ve seen of the truck, I’d imagine it would be your most popular vid. Great work
Humility is a great thing. We all have those moments. It's not a waste of time though, it's technique building. Sometimes it pays off, sometimes it doesn't. Also I loved that saying: If I can see it, I can weld it. Nice! Love the videos. Keep up the great work.
So nice to watch you stick to your guns all the way through to the handsome results. Your customer should be pleased to have that entire complete machine with this piece as its crown.
I can see why his customer’s just say “Fix it as you see fit” the one’s that keep having him come back over and over again. Since they keep tearing up stuff and he keeps them in business. A true master of arc gouging and field prep and stick welding heavy equipment. Thanks for the videos and the great work.
I love how Fabshield 21b lays down. I use it and XLR8 quite a bit in my work. Once again, another complex problem solved using good old ingenuity and God-given talent. I always enjoy watching and learning from a true master at his craft. Keep 'em coming, Isaac!
Relax, while I agree with the sentiment that "you shouldn't be a jerk", don't confuse that with "don't criticize" We all need to be be able to critique each others work without getting butt hurt.
Nice work Isaac as usual. That you made a couple of burn throughs just proves your actually doing something. If one has never made a mistake, then one isn't doing anything ....... ;)
Good to see how you work so methodically, it speaks to your proficiency in your trade. Good to hear that Miller unit running in the background. carbon arc gouging makes quick work for removing existing welds.
As always top vid ! And when Kurtis says so , you can take it to the bank ! The biggest problem in any repair is - what is the original shape & measurements , then comes the welding . And this is said just before he talks about the customer wanting to install & take measurements ! Good job Isaac & love the music !!! None of that hippy garbage
Great repair, excellent job! Smooth as butter, "if I can step over it, I can fill it" lol yes sir 100 percent, sounds like guys that taught me on jobsite 91-92 outta state tech welding school "if it wont cut 1/4 in plate you aint hot enough to run and gun"! Stay safe, God bless
Interesting how much you can use gouging to clear out back to good metal. Very cool. Thanks for taking the trouble to show us how it's done. Nice work.
Amazing every time i think the job is too bad you just find a way to deal with the issues you face everyday just a joy to see someone who can you are certainly are an inspiration to many from Mt Gambier South Australia
Another great save! The customer is going to be happy putting this back into action with minimal down time. It's amazing what you're able to do to keep these machines in the field getting the job done. If they had taken that part to the shop, they would have been charged some hours. If I had you on site, I'd be digging up all my failed welding projects for you to fix proper like.
Hey mate great repair once again. Your videos make me miss the work out in the field. How do you find the fabshield 21B? I've not used that one but always ran NR211 or XLR8. Enjoy the long weekend Cheers, Kurtis 😎👍
Hey man, thanks for watching. I like the fabshield better than the NR211. the 211 is a little too brittle. I havent had cracking issues with the 21-B. I believe it has more elongation properties. more like what a 7018 has. I havent used the xlr8 but i hear thats a good one too.
That is a good description. It is broken. You will have it back to rights. Ain't it amazing how the expensive parts are the ones that break more often? I sincerely hope the customer sent you a six pack of your favorite refreshment.
Hi there, I am a great fan of your practical no-nonsense attitude to your repairs and also your work ethic, I have watched several of your videos, and enjoy the way you are honest in your appraisal of the problem and how you intend to fix it, even when it does not always go exactly to plan, but I have no idea what your name is, could you start each video with a "Hi this is ***** welcome to the channel" personally I find that knowing the name of the person you are watching adds to the experience, I also watch the videos the Kurtis posts from Australia.
@@ICWeld Greetings Isaac, thanks for giving me your name, I live in the UK and I am retired, I run a Clay Pigeon Shoot in my spare time and dabble a little in DIY metalworking, mostly for repairs to our equipment. I like the way you work out problems and take the time to explain to your viewers what you are doing and why you think it needs to be done that particular way, I have picked up some valuable tips from you, unfortunately, I will never be as good as you at welding, though I have got past the stage where it looks as if I have thrown the weld at the metal from six feet away. Best Regards Dave.
Great repair job on a "what's it called?". Wonderful that you were able to do the job on a table top and not laying on your back crammed under an excavator!
You know I have done some welding jobs in my day. all the way from building submarines to welding in power plants to welding for the railroad. but I have never seen a welding torch like what you have what is that awesome thing and your work is awesome by the way
Great idea to test fit before finish welding. I guess you have done this before. Also, i love that you use the basics of arc welding by utilizing air arc and multiple build up in layers. I have a miller 300 amp big blue diesel and a lot of people today scoff at the idea i dont have the newest welder available. My welder and my basic skills have brought back many pieces of equipment from the salvage yard. Old school is still a great place to start. Thank you for the great video's.
22:22 Arrrright?! Man, your _arrrrright_ would be most people's _perfect._ What I found even more amazing than your artful welding was you tacked it up by eye, they took it off, tested the fitting and it was spot on. That is some set of skills you have in your possession Isaac. 👍👍👍👍
Really a nice job!! I really enjoy your video's!! Watching you, like a couple of other comments makes me miss the field work!! But too close to retirement to change now! keep up the good work!!
Other then the time i could not really hear you i still watch and enjoy the hard work you do ! I know it's not easy trying make videos outside with the wind and other noises from the equitment running around the area your working at ! That was more a easy job compared to lot stuff i seen you fix & it/s fixed better then it was when it was new because you add more strength to the welds !
I'm still working on balancing the volume while editing, and I'm also making efforts to find a good Mic to clip it on me so I can talk as I weld. Ill get better soon. Thanks for the support.
I would say it is the bracket for a cleaning head, here in the UK with a lot of clay the spoil will carry on up the flight and can fall off from way up high on to a worker. Nice fix
Nice work on the repair Issac! Those drilling rig crews are really rough on their equipment and drilling into the ground filled with rocks and whatnot doesn’t help either, that’s why everything is big and expensive! Mark from Melbourne Australia
I like the beads from the fabtec. I never got a chance to try that one yet. It look like its hot and it sure puts a slug in there. Great work as usual Isaac!!
Hello IC. I like your videos they are very interesting. Iv always liked macanical things. There are some very clever people in this world even before computers when there were drawings and blue prints. I never worked to presision there was a bit more tolerance in my job has a dry stone Waller. Retired now of course.
He says “alright” and then shows us some Michelangelo type work. Masterfully done and well executed repair.

Love that attitude, chuckles when his firs5 aproach was actually the right one! As I said before put hm on your team!! A great man!
I think a rig tour as well as a vid on why/when to switch welding processes would be awesome. From what I’ve seen of the truck, I’d imagine it would be your most popular vid. Great work
Nice job I like watching the cutting and prep just as much as the welding 👍
"Don't know what this part is called, but i call it broke."
No substitute for knowledge!
Thnx for another learning experience!!
Humility is a great thing. We all have those moments. It's not a waste of time though, it's technique building. Sometimes it pays off, sometimes it doesn't. Also I loved that saying: If I can see it, I can weld it. Nice!

It's never a waste of time, If one can learn from the experience and wisdom of another. This will help others to be a better craftsman. Thank you.
Humility enables greater wisdom.
I have no idea how to weld but watching him do his thing is relaxing.
U never waste my time. I could watch you every night. Thanks so much. God Bless and stay safe
That is craftsmanship! Those welds are like art quality. Great repair.
Hey Jennifer, hope you are having a good weekend. Jerry Wagner probably took a trip somewhere for the holiday so maybe he will post this week.
Your tools 🔧 are not junk sir! They make everything possible.

You my friend are a surgical welder. No machine could do what you do. We need more professionals like you.
The timelapse shot with you welding and the clouds moving off to the distance was awesome.
A job that defiantly lends itself to mig welding. Tight confines but as usual you made it look easy. Stay Safe!

your a true artist with the sparky thing and the smoke wrench
My take on this is if I can touch it I can fix it, but you are the cream of welders
Don't understand why this guy doesn't have 500k subscribers, master class!
I love your channel 👍🏻👍🏻keep up the good work
I have no idea what it is, but it's fixed! The angles are fine, and anyone who complains can try making videos and a living at the same time.

Thanks for the idea of using an umbrella instead of a tent. So much easier to setup and tear down!
Wow. That was such a pleasure to watch.
Good to see how you work so methodically, it speaks to your proficiency in your trade. Good to hear that Miller unit running in the background. carbon arc gouging makes quick work for removing existing welds.
Your videos should be mandatory viewing for every welding trade school and or welding colleges !!!!!
Another great repair video. Always enjoy watching. Keep them coming
Few are great welders, even less are good instructors.
You are Both.....

You did state that you watched IC Weld.. Here you are.. 😉
Hey Kurtis i was going to mention to Isaac that you watched his channel , he probably already knows

Second time watching this vid. Interesting to see CEE checking in. You guys are my HEROS!!!!!!
You don't have to worry about wasting my time, your mistakes are better viewing than a lot of non-mistakes!

Great point!
Fine repair!!! I believe the original design could be improved upon but your repair couldn't be better!
"If I can see it, I can weld it"
Definitly gonna remember this one.
Your welds are so smooth, it looks like caulking troweled with a wet finger ! Nice job.

@@samwickett6144 Thanks for that. It would have been interesting to see it fitted back on the machine.
