Gearing really is an incredible thing. The tractors that we have at work tend to have 45-75 hp, but because of gearing, they can pull like 10,000 lbs (4,500 kg). Of course, they go like 10 mph.
the low hp is mostly just because they rev so low, and hp is calculated using rpm. Some may rev as little as 1200rpm, so using the HP equation (torque * rpm / 5252), a 650ft-lb torque tractor may only make 120hp. Combine that with insane gear ratios like you said and yeah
You gotta go into the files of the automation vehicle and change the ball hitch to fifth wheel. Filman showed how in his video of his super old 'semi' where he tried towing the same trailer with his creation.
Torque is really a different thing to hp. Normally cars gain hp with higher revs, but a lot of engines lose top end torque. That’s one part of why diesel engines are so great for hauling weights, they make a lot of torque.
my grand uncle had a gasoline powered renault truck from the 1950's. made something like 110nm and 65hp. top speed? 65kph. any hill, loaded or not was done in first/second gear. it served from 1955 till 1986! think about it, by then trucks like his were so obsolete, they began to be outlawed on the newly made highways..
if you reduce the stop speed to like 80kph your gearing would allow you to get faster and use more gears. i have a tow truck that tops out at 55mph because it runs a 5.13:1 rear gear literally shifting every 10 mph ignoring that first tops out at 5 mph
Pulling power is never about hp, it's about ft lbs/Nm and gearing There's a saying that goes hp is how fast you hit a wall amd torque is how far you take the wall with you.
@@Ianarps whats your point? I don't think you fully understand what horsepower even is. Do ya? Horsepower can't exist without torque and torque can't exist without horsepower.
It's always about hp. At any given speed hp numbers will tell you how well it'll pull and WILL perfectly correlate with you engine tq and gearing ratio. It'll tell you what RPMs you get the most torque from the wheels.
at any given speed it's HP that'll tell you how well it pulls. You could pull it with 1 4th the engine torque, if it produced that torque at 4x the revs.
I want ti point out that you say that gearing helps you with low power, but gearing can't change power, gearing only changes the torque, in fact technically gearing always lowers power since it isn't 100% efficient (it's about 99% so basically lowers it by a miniscule amount) the only thing that it can do for power is match the peak of the power curve with the speed you're going at (if you have the correct gear ratio)
Gear ratio is a torque multiplier. It trades speed and torque but the equation always has the same power. (Besides mechanical losses from the drivetrain and other stuff)

this truck with kei car hp limit would be cool

exactly
I feel like it would accelerate faster if you short shifted it, since it makes peak power/torque at low rpms
if you select "force unbreakable fixtures", then they won't add weight in beamng :)
Thank you
Thanks dude!

@@hansdomke89 that video goes hard tho
You gotta make a 4x4 version of it with the ludicrous horsepower limit of 30
I'm a Volunteer firefighter, our trucks are heavy but only make about 300 HP, it really is all about the gearing

you have to change the hitch type in the vehicle config file for the truck if you want that to work
140Nm ? My bike got more than that !
And a 4x4 gearbox with low range would have been a must have !
ive been making gearbox cars for ages my fav car to build
No powah' babeh'
I never was so early on any video ever...

I didn something similar, but with a Kei farm hand truck. To add dirt to the mess, it only made 40Hp and 80Nm and the engine was 640cc Turbo carbed I3
I think a low tourqe higher hp remake of this would be cool too see how it compairs
What would be cool, and i don't know if you can, would be a diesel pickup.
I believe reverse flow is more restrictive than baffled, try using that
I really want this game so I can design my own cars especially since I already own beamng
can we get some more hampster content please, (love the channel btw)

can you make a deiseal engine 1/1 compression
yeah i bought a sticker from argentina, whenever it comes since mail here sucks but oh well, cheers c:

Can we see a part 2 later on, but see how a Ford 3.0L straight six compared to your straight six
This video shows the importance of gearing..
A Bugatti Chiron would have less of a top speed and stall out of it only had 2 gears.
Could you make something with a cvt? Like a 1000hp scooter
Don't think automation has cvts
The exported automation cars do have the option to swap in a cvt
its the qrong note you need a 5th wheel one the one u have is for a revicer hitch
Do a 331mph Nissan Altima like the meme
Next video idea, make the most powerful towing truck
same rpm limit tho, 2200 rpm but 4k ft lbs
I found a guy on youtube that powered a prius with a harbor freight predator engine. He eventually upgraded it to hit 70mph
I've seen that also, it's cool that someone's tried it
robot cantina
The truck is based off the 1970 F-100 and you took away 179.9 horsepower
How can I send you a picture of my bugo sticker?
