I had a laugh thinking of you doing grocery shopping - 'This box of Cheerios is great and a good price, but it does have a ding and the box is kind of light, not ever so good quality, so we will leave it for someone else.' :-)
Heh, that would be a fun April Fool's shopping video :D
I received a Lane chest when I graduated from high school in 1966. All of the girls in my class received one. And I still have mine.
I have the have the hope chest that my grandfather gave my grandmother on the Valentines Day before they were married. I am now 70 so that was a long time ago!
I did too!! Still have it.
I graduated in 1964 and received a small Lane Cedar Chest also. I think they were hoping we would all buy or get a full size one for our "hope chest" to store our belongings that would become part of married life. Also called dowry chest, trousseau chest. : -)
A rainbow is God’s promise that he will never flood the earth again 🌈 So beautiful!
Every graduating girl received one of those Lane cedar boxes in the mail when they graduated from high school when I was a kid (early 80s). I still have mine!!!
Many did in the 70s, too, but you had to request one, either by mail or by going to a store where Lane was sold. I always thought I didn’t want one, then regretted not getting it. They were nice little chests.
We had to go to the local furniture store to collect ours but all the girls got gift certificates for them. My God daughter has mine.
At least as far back as the 40's
The little lane cedar box was a give away from the lane company. Vintage. Given to high school girls as graduation gift and sales promotion. I got one in the 70’s. And so did thousands if not millions of American girls in mid century.
I recognized the breast pump right away. My mom had one made of glass with a rubber bulb like that when I was little and she was nursing my baby brother. This was 1967, but I have no idea how old the pump was. It was likely borrowed from an older relative, so I just don’t know. But designs had certainly changed by the time I bought one in 1985, when my first son was born, thankfully! I hope today’s models are even better.
Me too. Def a breast pump. Had exactly that one.
Hi: I still have my mom's breast pump dated back to the fifties. No children of my own. Just keep for antique sake.
Antique breast pump was my first guess on that glass/rubber bulb piece.
I appreciate your care for the items you don't take so they are safely returned to the shelf. Your shared knowledge is appreciated!
I received my Lane mini cedar chest at McMahon's Furniture Store in Pasadena, CA in 1966 or 1967. I don't recall that it ever had a key. I still have mine as well. It now holds little treasures including a partial book of vintage Disneyland ride tickets, S&H Green stamps, etc..
I got mine in 1991. Still have it too!
I have my mom's from 196X and mine from 198Y. No longer available when my daughter graduated.
When I was a little girl probably between 8-10 I believed that there really was a pot of gold at the end of a rainbow. One day I tried following the rainbow so I could get gold for my family. I ended up getting lost in the woods for a few hours before I found my way out by following the sound of traffic. I was maybe a quarter mile from home, so I walked home because I knew exactly how to get home. I was so sad that the rainbow was gone by the time I got out of the woods that I was crying. My Mom asked me why I was crying and I told her I was trying to find the gold at the end of the rainbow. ( I left out the part about getting lost in the woods because she would have freaked out) She just chuckled a little and told me that I was sweet to be thinking about helping the family. And she told me that there is no end of the rainbow because rainbows are actually complete circles.
When I was 17 I saw the end of the rainbow. It was on a cow. Seriously
I was driving down the freeway after a storm and saw the end of a rainbow off the side of the road. Many people were pulled over, so we also pulled over. Once in a lifetime experience.
I love that your mother shared real science with you. And she still supported your hope.
@@karenselman6725 I once saw the end of a double rainbow on the freeway!! Many people pulled off to the side; it almost caused several accidents. Amazing!
Bear Is quite the cutie, he sure found the perfect family to love him🥰🥰💕💕💕
You are wonderfully kind Trace, thank you so much!! 🥰💞🐾
YOU have a wonderful eye for vintage, I enjoy.
Hi Tiffany,
Im so excited as I have found a deep blue glassybaby votive at my local church Recycle!
It was $5. I was pretty sure when I picked it up that it was aglassybaby but i couldnt read the mark on the bottom properly until I was home.A month ago I didnt even know what it is but thanks to watching your channel I learnt!
The tree of life plates are beautiful
Those are prettier than glassy babies!!
Waaay prettier!
Hello Tiffany, today is 1-17-23. We have missed your videos these past weeks. Happy to watch your previous ones !! 💐
Wonderful haul and thank you for sharing The beautiful rainbow 🌈 Tiffany 🤗
I am so happy you got the green tree plates. Last time I felt so sad when you left them..😊
Thanks for sharing the rainbow with us. They are magical....
We haven’t seen you looking at the jewellery lately Tiff. Such a pity as I’m a bit of a magpie and enjoy the sparkly things heh heh.
Noted Sarah, I'll stop by the shiny objects. 🤣💞
Yes, that little Lane Cedar chest is just like the one we were given when we graduated from high school in 1967. I wish I still had mine. I guess when my parents moved it was given away.
They were still giving them away in 1976, that's when I got mine :)
I got mine in 1985...still have it
What state did you graduate in, may I ask ?
@@greeneyedmimibostian3013 Akron, Ohio
Each girl in my graduating class in 1964 received one. I thought I remembered it being from the local furniture store as and encouragement to get the real hope chest at their store.
I love the rainbow! It's huge !!
Beautiful rainbow! Been a long time since I seen a full rainbow as that. Thanks for sharing!!
It's so funny. When I'm shopping for treasures, I find myself reuniting pieces with their "friend." And there's a ceramic chicken that makes her way all around the goodwill store. 😅
I keep reuniting things as well, even if I have to go back, I reunited some plates with the cups and saucers even though the shop had put the cups with the cups and the plates with the plates. I was like 'they need to be together.' I also find myself impersonating Tiff by saying 'ill put that back for someone else to find'.
Yea! We’re back together as friends! I follow you as a Subscriber and an admirer. Best of everything to you, your family and your precious furry guys.
Beautiful rainbow, thank you for sharing...
I still have my mini-Lane Cedar Chest, they gave them to HS Senior Girls in the 70’s.
Beautiful Rainbow🌈
The horn this is what I think it is. I have used a horn for my daughter. She is deaf and it trained her to find sound. That horn is an educational instrument used for deaf toddlers from newborns to about 6 year old.
When you scan the metal, I always look for chip and dip brackets.
Bear is so cute! He’s just like my Casey who also doesn’t want to give the balls back!
Hi Tiffany thanks for taking my 82 year old self shopping with you. Love your channel, the cats and Bear also. Your thrift stores are nicer than the ones here in Ohio.
Double Rainbow! 🌈
Just love your videos, Tiffany! Makes my day to see all the lovely and interesting items that you find! The pets are great, too!
Made my day to see your video pop up!! Thanks for your knowledge! I totally look at items WAY differently now!!
Really unique & beautiful finds, Tiffany!! 👍👍❤️
Thank you for sharing ☺️ very educational. I never knew a thing about glass until I started watching your videos. , And a couple of others the crazy lamp lady and the nature lady Danny. I like watching Mickey bags of money too
Thank you for sharing that gorgeous rainbow with us!! Lovely video, Tiffany.
So that rainbow before you even said anything that is gorgeous you can’t beat a beautiful rainbow
Did I see a double rainbow? 🌈 How nice to go to bed after watching your video and the fur babies.
The rainbow was beautiful !
Great items and haul, look forward to watching more videos, thank you for sharing your story,,awww so sweet ,your blessed, xxx
Darling finds my friend!! Thank you!! The rainbow was amazing!!
I so enjoy your videos and have learned a lot. Thank you for sharing.
L🧡VE IT ALL, BUT MY FAV WAS THE MERCURY GLASS CANDLEHOLDERS 💛
Your kids are going to start watching to see what you are getting them for Christmas. They probably already know from years past that this is the time out of year they should start watching!
Yes, and I have to start finding new hiding places! 😀❤
In the UK we are not as crazy about Christmas (might just be me, not sure) I always avoid Christmas items in charity shops, and some of the things you pass by would sell really well here. Totally different market here. But I love to watch and learn about what the US like to buy.
The little Lane chests were usually given to Seniors around Graduation time. It was to encourage parents to buy the big chests! I got mine in 1976 and I have my Mom's from 1955. It usually worked because we both got our big chests for Graduation 😃😅 Absolutely adore the McCoy vase🥰🤩 Pottery is my thing 😋 Thanks ❤️ 😊 for taking us along on your adventures 😀 Looking forward to the next video 😁❤🙌🙏
You make such wonderful videos and show so many interesting items. I learn something new and useful from every one you make! Thank you for producing these and for sharing the knowledge you have and the treasures you find I also saw a rainbow the same day as you…I am in Georgia.
Thank you so much for going through the Christmas shelf!
Hey Tiffany, SLAY, GIRL, SLAY! Another fabulous shopping trip with you
So true! I have not noticed the chips! So fun to thrift with you!
Very good haul! Lovely finds. Good old Bear 🐶💖🤗 Good to see your daughter again. Wish the kids would go thrifting with you again. ☺
Beautiful rainbow!!
Hi Tiffany, I love those large wrought-iron scrolly Decorative pieces. I have several of them and I like just leaning them up against my house by the back door, since my house is white. They look really pretty
You had a lovely haul. Great finds
Great content and haul!♥️
I thought that was a replica of a bicycle horn too ! The little cedar chest is something they used to give away when you graduated from high school, because my whole class of girls got one in 1962 ! Guess they wanted us to buy one but I already had my mom's cedar chest !
Always enjoy your videos 🌻
Oh love the vintage metal basket for my desk!
When I was a senior in high school each female graduate was given one of the small Lane chests. This was in the late 60's & 70's. Don't know if they still do it or not.
You picked up some really great things. 🌹❤️🥰
Hello, I am72years old and I use to work at McCoy pottery in Roseville ,Ohio. When I saw that piece reminded me of all the hard work we did. But I wouldn't have changed it for any thing.
really cool haul !!
Good haul! My favorites are yours, as well! The lovely enamel painted tumbler, the two blue tumblers/votive holders, the skull votive holders and the pretty snowflake ornaments. The last will look beautiful on your new tree! I liked the Mercury glass candlesticks and that heavy basket weave pottery piece, too! I always enjoy seeing that Spanish recycled glass - it seems to trap the light do it looks like it’s glowing from within.
Had to laugh at Bandit! The minute you said Ziggy was in his box, it was clear B thought, “Hey! That used to be MY box!” so he went over to see about reclaiming it. He tried the subtle approach with a kiss on the top if Ziggy’s head and it almost worked until Z figured out he was being played for dominance of the prized box. 😂
Bear is just such a beauty - he has the best sense of humor. Such a good, fun boy! 🥰
Love your videos, always makes my day!!! 💯 ❤💙💜
Mine too! ❤
Im always amazed that even though you only use one hand to handle the treasures, I have never seen you drop a precious item. I feel like I would be so clumsy 😩
Amazing finds
What an amazing rainbow!😍
Thank you Tiffany.
I liked the pink egg holder and I wanted the blue truck cooking jar!!! ooo the eight ball plate...
Great stuff loved it
Can always learn so much from your videos.you know so much about everything.. wish I had your memory. Great finds.
Lane Box on the east coast were e gifts to senior girls in high school from the local Lane dealer.
Hi Tiffany I'm enjoying your videos thank you very much, Danni is great too!
Beautiful rainbow
Those Lane boxes were given out to seniors graduating from high school in parts of the country. I have one and I have my mom's as well. They look drastically different in appearance, as probably the 35 years difference in our ages.
Hi Tiffany! I’m enjoying my cup of coffee while thrifting vicariously through you. I always smile when you reunite a piece with their friends.😃 😻 Love the Tree of Life plates. On your last video I was saying out loud to my iPad, “Tiffany! Grab those”! 🤣🌈
I know, a voice in my head said go back and pick up those plates! 😁💞
I had no idea that handheld breast pumps have been around that long! I cracked up when you picked that up! Lovely McCoy vase!

Love your videos!
Wow!!!!
Love some of those aqua blue vases even though they are only colored glass.love some of the red and cobalt too. Also looking for decorative lanterns for Christmas decorations
Your shelves r so full 🤔 great rainbow 🌈
Great advice.... I bought a piece at Goodwill, and I have had it for several months..... I was looking at it one day and realized that the whole neck and half of the handle had been totally broken off.... They did such as good job repairing it it totally fooled me..... I was so angry..... If you break something, throw it away..... Don't do that to someone who thought it was a good piece.... VERY DECEPTIVE....
Love the old breast pump! I’m an L&D RN and caught that right away! Awesome!!
Lovely video watching from Germany 💕💕💕
Love those little bird figurines they are so cute my mom used to have some of those when we were little
It's so precious when items on the shelves bring back special memories! Thank you Linda. 😀💞
Hi Tiffany.love to watch ur videos
I have the spoon rest. Have loved/used it for many years.
It is a breast pump and hadn't changed much in the 50s. My mom had one. I don't know how old it was, when she had it.
Hi!! Ooh!! Grab the test tubes!! They are great for air plants or plant propagation. It’s VERY popular right now!!
😂Bear the Ball hog! Great haul Tiffany!
Love your video.
The little Lane chest was given to all the girls at their graduation from high school...they were given by a local furniture company. I got mine in 1960 and still have it.
That is so interesting, thank you. I love that you still have it! 😀💞
@@ThriftingVegas I love it. I still have mine, too.
The Lane cedar boxes can go for upwards of $30-40. I passed one up too. The blue tumblers were quite a find!
Yay. A new video already! Thank you! 🌺
I wish the flash floods could be diverted to Lake Mead.
That strange trumpet is a manual milking instrument for human lactating women. Oh, what a relief! 🤱🏼
I used to play Chinese checkers when I was a young girl beautiful find
Hello Tiffany ! Wishing you lot's of luck today ! Yes when playing chinese marble's they are different from your opponent.
THANKS FOR SHARING the rimbow🌈🌈🌈🌈
Good advise on checking things. I just bought a margaret furlong piece and then noticed when I got home that it had a large chip on the sea horse's face. Was very disappointed in myself for not checking it over closely
