  • UPPER ARLINGTON, Ohio, Oct. 18 (UPI) -- Six people were killed in the crash of a police cruiser on a robbery call and a civilian vehicle in Upper Arlington, Ohio, police said.
A man and five females, including a 2-year-old, died in the Thursday accident. The driver of the police car was taken to Riverside Methodist Hospital with a head injury and was expected to recover, WBNS-TV, Columbus, Ohio, reported Friday.
Police said the officer, whose name wasn't reported, was driving northbound on Riverside Drive, running his lights and sirens as he headed to a nearby McDonald's on a robbery call, and that the cruiser crashed into the other vehicle, which was driving westbound on Fishinger Road.

looked like the police car had the green. it turned yellow at the last second (the lights are changing in the upward direction). so apparently the other driver drove through a red light and stopped in the middle of the intersection. the police car veered right to avoid what he believed was a car moving forward, but the car stopped instead of continuing and thats why the police car hits it in the middle of the side. the driver saw the police car at the last second and probably also his red light and thats why he stopped. the accident was the fault of the other driver, not the police officer, in my opinion. had the driver kept moving he wouldnt have been in such a bad accident.
