Wow.....Nitecore you finally brought back what makes a great EDC flashlight feasible. That is stupid simplicity and maximize all the efforts into performance and build quality. I had moved away from your lights because of the million modes and multi button tailcaps and battery meter this and that. So, refreshing to see you back to old school simplicity. I had purchased this FY24 only Surefire because of the simple high/low and one button designs. Now I have to order yours new MT2c Pro now and at the price point an extra for family. Keep these coming.....
... It's basically Nitecores , Surefire G2x Pro (sadly the mechanical lockout part is missing though) !. I wonder if they will produce any with carbon reinforcing body's, or other material construction alternatives 🤔?.
I would NEVER buy one with built-in battery, so this one might be added to my collection. Sadly, they say it is an 1836R battery, which I can not find any reference to, glad you said it is a 18650, since that's what I use in many of my lights, although the last few use the 21700. Having really bright is mostly just a game, oh look at me, I'm bright, but in most applications, it is not needed, plus shortening the run time and being so hot is not all that attractive. I would much rather have it do like 50 and 500 lumen, this way much longer run time, much cooler, and longer led life. By the way, I don't have Facebook, Instagram or TikTok.
@@stefanp5261 Eventually all these untruthful specs or scam numbers will catch up with these companies, though sadly it happens at almost all of them. Years ago there was a ad making fun of all those fake ratings of car stereos, it showed a photo of a car radio claiming 5000 watts per channel, and in a little bubble above it said for 1 second when hit by lightning.
can i use other 18650 battery brands in it? if n0t then it is n0t actually good for edc or go to light.. i always carry extra batteries for my flashlights..
@NitecoreStore Yes it really is nice to have options (Battery Wise) Just wish it had a Medium High of around 400 to 500 Lumens. After turbo step down.. What do you think it would be putting out in Lumens ?? Brett from Australia.
It looks like a very reasonable light, I'll get one for the collection when it arrives here in Europe. There is any notable difference in tint between the high and low level? I'm asking because my MT2A Pro, the EDC33, and the MH25 Pro - all with the Nitelab LEDs - are visibly greenish at the lowest levels. I EDC the P20iX and the P23i - a flooder and a thrower - and they have a lovable white tint. Greetings, Anthony
The beam profile is purely tactical, pretty useless for me in an EDC role. A pass for me. Would be interesting to see a light with a quad or triple of these emitters though...
This has to be one of the greenest light I’ve ver had the displeasure of looking at. Specially in that low mode. My EDC25 has a pretty green tint, and this light makes that light look perfectly white, that’s how and it is. On turbo is not horrible.
I'm a huge fan of Nightcore but not this light. It needs a mid-level and I don't like a light where you have to turn the light off if you want to go to the lower level. Also 50 lumens is too high for any kind of moonlight there is no mid and the beam is to throw away for around the house work. I think I'll pass on this one
All you get is High and low? Low being only 50lm.. That's not enough for a general use mode.. you need a 300ln or so and also no strobe? On a tactical flashlight? Nope
@@OneOfDaKine82 Actually, props to this guy for being open to awareness when someone points something out to him. You seem to want to be validated in your misogyny, which is never a joke. But it sure is bad karma at the very least. Get better.
If u want to use any modes without it stepping down. That output has to be around the middle mode. If a 🔦flashlight has 5 modes, it's the 3rd. If 4 modes, 2nd. If 3 modes, likely 2nd also. Turbo or high modes run for brief moments most of the time. It's pure marketing gimmick.
I don't want to sound snob, but the cheap lights - Sofirn, Wurkkos, etc - use a questionable design of the LED driver, and some cheap parts. I've been left in the dark in a cave, in a mine, and a busy basement by cheap flashlights, and since then I stay well away from bargain bin lights - they are cheap for a reason...
@@rayoflight62 absolutely. For work or where your life depends on it, I would not choose a Sofirn or equivalent. Perhaps a US made SureFire or Princeton Tec. But for an EDC for walks, I've had my Sofirn SC18 for over a year now and it hasn't disappointed me yet (knock on wood.)
I have a Sofirn SC33 and it's awesome for its price. Although Nitecore is great ( most of my torches are from them ) I found the price getting more n more expensive when I can find similar specs and good quality torches at much lower prices. Nitecore is the Goruck equivalent of the torchlights world.

Ordered
I agree. It's nice to have options and replaceable batteries.
High-low/low-high with no memory modes, just like a Surefire and Olight. We need more high and low only flashlight, thanks Nitecore!
Try Streamlight they have Low/High too
Release new edc33 (edc33 v2) with removeable battery, metal switch would be great...
I ❤️ the simplicity ... 🍻
I have pre-ordered this beauty.
Us too!

Ordered mine today was nice to get the 30% off made this a very nice deal
Lets go!

Always nice to have options. I'm getting one today.

Nice! As a tactical light a small strike bezel would have been good. Also half press high only no switching. Its not an edc light.
I wish NiteCore didn’t discontinue the NM01 1000 Lumen USB Rechargeable EDC Flashlight. I love that one.

@@NitecoreStore why the big sale on a new light?

Built-in battery is a big no for me
I have edc35. My question is how to take the batteries out for edc35?
can i use other 18650 battery brands in it?
if n0t then it is n0t actually good for edc or go to light..
i always carry extra batteries for my flashlights..
can this unit take flat top batteries(dual springs)???
I wish the clip was reversible so I could attach it to my hat, I have a Olight S1 mini and it really needs an 18650 battery .
does he tail cap unscrew so i can add a finger ring?
Changeable batteries only. Rechargeable idk, you need to be able to have light past the duration of one battery. What then? Carry 3 flashlights?
Carry spare batteries...
Why give a weight without the battery. Won't be carried without the battery I'm guessing
Weight fluctuates depending on the battery/batteries.
nice but I wouldn't label this as tactical, no strobe and no bezel. It's a nice EDC torch for sure.
I prefer my EDC27 @3k lumens on turbo 😅 - it’s literally a less lethal option
I lost mine😢
So, it has to be turned on to 1800 every time, before you can access the 50 lumen setting? No thanks.

Just a difference in power. The colour seems to be consistent. A cooler light, not so much green.
@@stefanp5261 I once had a convoy with the SST40 and it didnt had a green tint. This is not a general problem.
Do all batteries work or only those from Nitecore?
Doesn't have to be Nitecore, they just have to be the correct batteries.
The beam profile is purely tactical, pretty useless for me in an EDC role. A pass for me.

Is the light tinted or is it a white light?
white to my eyes.

NITECORE... I guess you either edit the video or take it down.
The 1800lm is a bit misleading. It steps down after 40 seconds to around 600lm.
🔦Flashlights of many other brands aren't that different at its turbo or high modes.
No strobe. That's a hard pass for me.

Why ist nitecore so fuc... stupid to give her only 2 modes? High 1800lm und low 50 lumen. The most of nitecore's flashlights have 5 modes...
Wow. You actually said "great for wives because it's not complicated." Check your sexism, bro.
Jajajajajajaja
Apologies. Will come back wiser.
Don’t apologize to sensitive people. Hell with them if they can’t take a joke. 🤦🏽♂️

SWAPPABLE BATTERIES!!!!
I'd pick up the 5000 Lumen light but, built in battery... no thanks
I ordered of these mt2c pros today!
Genial 👌👌

Hope that means you liked the video. :)
Built in batteries are a no-go. Proprietary is bad enough.... Nitecore Did it right here.
how long can 1800L last before drop down? and drop down to how many lumen?
Does Nitecore make a flashlight that doesnt have a stepdown function ?

Sofirn SC18 for 1/3rd the price with 3/100/350/800/1800 turbo lumen modes and strobe.
