开车 is common for me as a Singaporean. My relatives also say 开车。 Ji Cheng che and de Shi are understandable for me but usually my household say "taxi" we mix English into Chinese to become Singapore. Fan dian and jiu dian are hotel to me but in Taiwan drama I think Jiu dian xiao jie is GRO so I guess their night club are open inside hotel? Chicken Kor Kor logic of the toilet paper make me laugh so much. Haha so entertaining.

Nothing more funny to say than what Chicken Genius has already said in the video... Except maybe to add to the "打包" thing... first time I heard it (as a small kid) was in CANTONESE....it was only later in the 80s and 90s that the tone went from Cantonese to Mandarin tone. So for me I always say DA BAO with Cantonese tone, never in Mandarin because that was how I originally heard it. If u asking why "Beat the packet" for "Takeaway", then I got one more phrase for u to make fun - "Smoking". In Cantonese it is "Sek yin" (吃烟）, or "eat smoke" 😂😁😂🤣

I dunno why it is "PA" also. Another example is playing cards (verb, not noun) is called PA GAU (打狗 or maybe 打九), dunno which one.. both sound the same 😁🤣😂 and as a small boy of 4 yrs old, I never asked all the uncles which GAU it was ...

So, I am quite certain PA = 打, I just dunno which GAU it is only 😂😜 ps: The Teochew version of topping up petrol is TIAM YOU (忝油), but there are less Teochew speakers here than Hokkien speakers, so PA YOU is the more common dialect phrase used (to translate to Mandarin)
Another use of 打包 in Sg is to “fail” exams usually. You can ask what is plastic bag in SG chinese. Everyone will say 纸袋 when that literally means paper bag. No one uses 塑胶袋

Different places have different slang
"驾车" seems to be very old way of saying "drive". Heard before when watching 古装剧, to operate 马车 they say 驾车. Don't think you can say 开车 for 马车 lol.
