Sadly, my dad's "career" was cut short due to an incident in the Army where the shortstop landed on his pitching hand. Though, while still in his early forties, he could still throw high 70's low 80's. Thanks for this memory and thank you for working with the younglings.

Hey Trevor, these analyses are very helpful with my own pitching like you mentioned. I find that I am having trouble rotating my hips by the time my front foot plants. Do you have any cues or advice on how to induce full hip rotation?
Try playing catch with your feet shoulder width apart, feet both facing forward... start your throwing motion with your hips leading your body forward and your abs activating ...
bro i swear by the end of summer my mechanics will almost match shohei because the only way my sweeper will not hang is matching shohei and my velo went up 5 mph when i did it for fun in my bullpen so im going to start throwing like the great shohei

Man could be legit anywhere spending millions living life and his passion for the game brings him here.. You would make a very good pitching coach. Read what your Indians teammates said about you helping them with technique. Not to nitpick a pitcher like Ohtani, who has a world of talent, but it seems like he overstrides a bit.
he'll only get more hip rotation, if his stride is shorter. but because the stride is so long, his release point is closer to the plate by a few inches. i don't think it really matters - it's in the consistency, that counts the most. the problem with Ohtani is mostly mental - confidence waxes and wanes, depending upon skill level. Ohtani is only beginning to realize his skill set as a pitcher, and perhaps worse as a hitter. he's got the basic tools; power and ability, but refined? - not so much. yeah, he made it to the all-star, but look at his numbers this year, they've totally dropped off, because MLB teams are watching video, and attacking his weaknesses.

concentrate on your drop phase(phase 2) that's where you start with the hip rotation and getting your hips in the correct position before foot drop
