I appreciate this info so much. As a noob, just in the leveling process i've often had this same constant debate with myself where I get some new piece of gear that drops from a mob or quest and then I look at it and it's like ok the gear score is higher but these stats or perks aren't actually more useful for me...salvage...I can't see any reason why that same evaluation would be any different at end game...I think the data showing the actual % damage mitigation or output is hugely important because that's been my one uncertainty about trying to make those calls... Like how much difference is a few armor points worth, vs whatever perk difference I have to account for. This really helps clarify and confirm my intuition about choosing between two pieces of gear.
A mate of mine was, well still is new to the whole mmo gear grinding dungeon farming games and he thought the higher the number the better and salvaged a rapier with vicious, leeching flurry, rogue while leveling, it was 625gs and the new one he got was 630gs I had a lil chuckle when he said to me this new weapon I got is way shitter than my other one I asked what did you do with that other one (cos I knew that rapier should get him through atleast the starting missions in brinstone maybe even through it all) he replied I salvaged it 🤦🏾 and on that day he learnt the gear score number doesn't mean it's a better item now a week later he's running out of storage hahaa dudes even keeping his green and blue drops what did I start 😅
People see gold item with a higher gear score and think it’s better because higher number. I’m sure this video will help people when creating builds, w video
When all this knowledge didnt exist yeah, but this argument doesnt work these days with all this knowledge! I break 20k gold of gold items everyday but i still have a plan about every build i do. Since i can make 3 BIS 725 for my builds every week. Its about the goals you set and your gamestyle....I dont want to get curried in every dungeon/raid...mby you do. Thats it , research your build and find a way to make it better. Keep old gear and make new one with cheapest way possible. E.X. My lowest item is Azoth Gloves light on 699 GS. Guess what....I ll be waiting 8 weeks to craft em instead of throw 20k G to make it 700.
the difference in damage by base gear score was calculated by Mecrow, it was around 1-1.3% increase in total damage by having a full 725 set of gear over a 700 score set of gear. so for everything at 725 gear score you gain an overall damage/damage reduction of slightly over 1%. this makes it arguably irrelevant and 725 doesn't seem to have a valid reason to even exist in the game besides another crafting cost.
@@-Spartan-Lifestyle- i think it's around 40 ish extra points, 4 per piece armors/jewels get to 36 stat and weapons go to 42, and i think 700gs on weapon gave 38 so its 4 points per gear piece and 10 total pieces, 2 weapons 3 jewels 5 armor, so 4x10 is 40, what makes it even more lackluster is the fact you'd need 50 attribute points to hit the bonus bubbles so they slightly short you on the amount of attribute points needed to bump your build from say 100 con to 150, or 150 to 200 etc.

And they don't seem to understand GS increase is not new content, it's a MAJOR turn off, people coming back to the game don't want to do the same boring grinds again and again, they just quit for good
I should say Gear score does matter in some expeditions and I know at least raids because ive been told the game just gets artificially harder with lower GS

Gearing in this game is like, goofy easy. Literally from new character to absolute BIS max score, is like a couple month journey. As apposed to most MMO's that make it like a year+.
